You may want to check with your religious leaders what the punishment in your religion is for suicide. If they have a brain cell, they will probably get you some help then before answering your question.

For yourself you will, of course, continue to hope that it will lead to them finding new reasons for living, and a lessening of the pain so that life becomes bearable, but always keeping in mind that you may end up having to be there for them while they go ahead with their decision. Yes... and this is a system that needs fixing. But it's hard to argue that the entire system is broken (seems to have worked for Mike).

I acknowledge the reality of psychiatric pathologies and suggest that neurochem, etc. are evidence to support modern psychiatry.

There's some kind of political taboo about discussing suicide. It's vastly common than people realise, but it's not in the culture enough for friends and family to have any awareness whatsoever on how to read signs or help.

Excellent video. You pretty much answered the challenge by demonstrating a far greater degree of understanding in this subject and giving out a far clearer anti-suicide message than that guy ever could, without even referring to atheism (I assume you are one).

Great video! I remember the period when I was going through my divorce and also leaving Christianity. For over a year I was suicidal and even had a plan.

I certainly am glad I didn't follow through! I have since enjoyed many wonderful relationships, and also that life without god and the delusion of guilt is great! The way the pieces of life fall together after making a commitment to rationality is amazing! Life is much more exiting and fulfilling now.
