  • I have travelled all over the world and am always shocked at how rude the staff are at immigration/checking passports etc at US airports. All of my friends complain about the way they are spoken to by staff who have a nazi like attitude when questioning you on entering the country. Once past this though the people are friendly. I think the staff need to be training with their manners.

  • Everyone can get an US citizen, but if you are going to visit NYC as tourist they check you like a terrorist.

  • @fIugasche oh really? I was planning to go to New York from with a dutch passport but I've got an algerian skin...do you think by any chance they might refuse admittance? Got money, hotel, passport and everything but people still scaring me about it...

  • @ditech2003 Hi! I have been to NYC in September the last year for about 4 days. As I arrived at the airport I had to pass the immigration officer of the homeland security. First he asked for my passport and as he figured out my name he already started to ask: What is the purpose of your trip to the US? How long will you stay? Do you have a hotel? Where is it? Do you have friends/relatives in the US? How much money do you bring to the US? Do you really think that 500$ are enough for four days???

  • @ditech2003 Continue: Then he made a picture so I had to look into the camera. Then they scanned my fingers and gave me a stamp into my passport. As he let me go I just walked five steps and the next uniformed monkey stopped me and ask who I am, where I am from. And finally my favourite question: "How did you earn enough money to be able to afford a trip to the US especially NYC? I mean, what the fuck??? 15% of the americans are jobless, the dollar is valueless and you ask a 19-year old european

  • @ditech2003 Continue II: how he can afford a trip? I have worked for a company in Austria, I said. Then he let me pass. But to answer your question: As long as you have a european passport your skin doesn't matter. I mean most of the americans have a coloured skin and they have to treat you as dutch citizen anyway.

  • @fIugasche Great! Thanks for sharing your experience! Questions are probably typically American. I'm off to NYC in October. Thanx
