i honestly believe final fight should have got the title beat downs and beat downs called final fight cause ff ran for 3 games and even a (wack) fighting game and another (wack) follow up, beat downs had only one hence their final fight.

True. They manufacture these things in Japan and the game designers probably just put an ad in the paper for someone who speaks English and has a visa. It's likely they picked some college anime geek to say the lines. The designers couldn't speak English so for all they know it's better than Lawrence Olivier. It's likely they did the same thing for translating the original Japanese dialogue to English in the first place, giving the voice actors little to work with.

I have no idea why, but after playing Final Fight CD, its difficult to play the normal versions faithful to the arcade. The movies, terrible voice overs, and goofy CD audio remixes of the music actually add something.
