That happened to me once. I was at the skatepark at a thunderstorm and the tree about 250y away got hit and caught on fire.

I was at my grandparent's house one time and i'm not sure if it was a tree or the barn that got hit, but the whole house shook, lights went out, and a timer went off on the fridge[those lil magnet ones]
