im considering getting this, but rpg games without open worlds aren't that good, does this have an open world? like oblivion. or does it have levels like most games?

Huh?? The battle style's just like "Legend of dragoon". Its like LOD with better graphics though without consecutive attacks or does it have in later stories?

Good thing it doesn't look bad. hmm.. a classy style of an RPG eh. maybe I'll try this. I love playing old school like RPGs~ =)

I found out something about the multiple discs thing actually. They don't have multiple discs because it's a good game: They have multiple discs because the data is spaced out widely, to try and help out loading times.

1. no the loading times arent long, they maybe be 10 seconds at most if its a cutscene comming up but thats not that bad.

and 2 . dude if you like final fantasy you are going to love it,its done so well carecter emotions, story, battle system, dude goes back to the basics, trust me whne i say dude , you wont this game ,

not the whole staff but only the producer of the final fantasy series. thats why the story of it was so good

Not the whole staff, but they have Hironobu Sakagushi (the father of Final Fantasy), Nobuo Umeastu, plus other square employees who followed them.

It's basically Squaresoft, yet Final Fantasy fans hate this for the sole fact that it's on the 360. It's really lame and stupid to dislike a game just because it's on a system you don't prefer.

Fanboyism is truely a sad sight indeed, where good games get bashed by complete tools.

Congrats... and it is a good game, any true Final Fantasy fan would enjoy it. Final Fantasy fanboys hate it, purely for the single fact that it's not called "Final Fantasy" or "Lost Odyssey VII".

VI had like 12 full fleshed out main characters each with a detailed backstory. One badass villain who destroys the world, plus IMO the best FF sound track ever.

To each his own I guess... but just don't be expecting everyone to agree with you. VII was a good game, but it's just a tad bit overrated now.

turn-based is a preference.. some people just want to play with action and fluidity while turn-based is strategy. t/b gives the opportunity to pick what certain actions you want to make in a "real-time" battle.

To all you peeps who say its lame or slow, go back to playing your FPS, this is a game from one of the fathers of RPGs, If you dont like Final Fantasy, then dont play or complain about this game cuz its the same thing. Correct me if i'm wrong; it seems the battle system is like Legend of Dragoon, where you have to press the button at the right time during the physical attack to inflict maximum damage. You can tell from the large circle converging on a smaller one to show when to press the button, where in LoD it was a square.

ur right its looks like LoD but its not close enough to it in LoD the "squares" continuation that go along with the addition or "attack" u chose and if u don't hit the button at the right time the attack will cancel and there more than one chance to get miss or hit unlike here where theres only one attack if u miss it or get a bad the attack will continue but have less of an effect

i love LoD!!! they should make more games with that engine!! I would've cherished LoD even more if people stopped making goofy enemies and if LoD had a remake because of the graphics at the time.. sigh.. i should ask, ha!

One thing I hate in a turn based game is when you have combat appearing of nowhere...why isn't more games like Mario RPG (yeah I know it's old but anyway) where you have monster wlking and you have to touch them to start a battle. I think it's so much better. Oh and don't you think that this blue "reindeer" is too powerful for the way he looks?

First off it's japanese, secondly yes it will be in English which is something you could've easily found it if you simply google'd the title of this game and lastly the reason it's like Final Fantasy is because it's actually being made by a person who is part of the FF Franchise.

So turn based system doesn't suite your taste, fair enough. Move along now /shoo!

I have this game. its in english and work well. The story is amazing. Graphics are stunning and combat is intense. My only complain is that battle just pops out of nowhere. U dont really see the enemy. U just happend to walk the path and suddenly theres a fight. Overall i would give it a 9 out of 10

Singapore man!!!! 1st time i saw it on online gameshop, i was like "WHAT? released so soon?" but yea it was released here on the 24th. US release is on 12th so its a bit weird. Theres like 4 DISKS. must be a huge game. I really recommand this game. I already spend 10 hours and i havent even finished a quarter of the game...OF THE FIRST DISK.

I'm not sure. At the back cover, the language was noted as chinese/japanese but it was actually english. In the game itself, there's n option to switch between english, japanese and korean language. So donno where its from. Donno how singapore gets these games. Its rather a complicated process. I presume however that it was shipped as a regular shipment and not as an import cause on wikipedia, it said that Singapore and Hong Kong's gonna get the game early. So thats it i guess.

This game is really going to be something. Though I await Final Fantasy XIII, Lost Odyssey wil surely keep me busy until then. And god, turn based! Love that!

Also, I would just like to add: The knight in the shiny gold armor, I love all the emotions he expresses, even if I can't understand a thing yet, but he seems to be a very interesting character.
