Hi Andy, I really like your videos. You explain all so well. But I have two doubts,what is the sign to tell to woman that we stop making New Yorks and we start the split cuban break?and for full cuban break? Maybe only one sign is required for indicating that we start all the sequence (cuban break with hip rocks). Thank you very much for your attention and good job.

There are 2 things that goes into the lead of a cuban break. 1st is the timing which is faster than a regular New York. 2nd, and this is a basic requirement of good leading, the arm must be connected to the body at all times. That way, the quick body movements are transferred through the joint arms & the lady is able to match them. For both dancers, keep the elbow of the joint hands close to the body. Don't swing the joint arms out. Make sure you have good body tone at all time.

Cuban breaks look too busy and too much arm flinging.  I like the hip rocks. Not your fault, just steps I wd not include in my own informal club dance
