  • On one computer screen, I see either Windows Setup or the BSOD. On some other computers, I see a Windows XP Beta and a couple Windows 2000/ME computers.

  • LOL EPIC Blue screen on one of the computers xD Microsoft, you guys are the best xD

  • the second computer that wook up from sleep looks like windows xp

  • I was in Building23 for SysMIG when this happened...was fun...NOT

  • Windows has detected an earthquake and is shutting down your pc.

  • I was in the 5th grade when this happened. At first I thought it was the Head Start kids down stairs where being wild but then my teacher yelled "Everyone under your desks!"

  • Is it me or can you hear Bill Gates in the background, lol, 'It's a seriours earthquake'.

  • How can this be fake?? I was a witness!! I was in preschool when this happened and it was the most scariest thing that had ever happened to me back then I was like 3 or 4. And I still remember it.

  • i was just in 1 from quebec.

  • Now ive learnt that Windows 2000 is tough enough to handle earthquakes! WOOT.

  • ffaaaaaaakkkkkeeeee

  • @JUKIO01 What? do yout feel like a hero yelling that out?

  • @JUKIO01 No, this was not fake! I live 165 miles south of this in Portland and I felt that baby pretty good that day even down here--they usually last about 10-12 seconds but this think was more like 45 seconds long and had widespread damage!

Bill Gates was speaking at a seminar in an auditorium in Seattle when this happened and parts of the ceiling came crashing down not far from him. I'm sure there is a video of it ( probably from AP ) on YT here somewhere of that.

  • ohh my godd thers a giant apple heading towards microsoft...

  • there is a pre-release version of windows xp, there because xp was released october 25th 2001.

  • lol look at those nerds

  • LOL, they seemed too calm about it. Well at least no computer died.

  • Earthquakes happen a lot in Seattle.

  • @yoyoimhome fuck man, i wanna be in a fucking earth quake. i never seen one or been in one.

  • @airpower123 How do you explain the phone cords shaking then.

  • @keepmacin strings.

  • @yoyoimhome I wouldn't say a lot, but yes, they have their share of them but maybe only 1-2 a year that anyone feels. The one in this video was like the strongest in something like 50 yrs in the Pacific NW, and felt a great distance away from the epicenter.

  • I was in 8th grade in the tiny community of Joyce, Clallam County, just about to get out of band class, when it happened. From what i remember it seemed to only last a few seconds there..

  • I was in college in Bellevue when this happened.

  • I was at school in North Seattle when this happened but I don't remember it being that bad, lol.

  • I was in this quake working in downtown seattle at a place called Speakeasy Networks. It was crazy! when it first started it was kind of rhythmic, like a huge fat person running across the room!

  • thats why fatties never run

  • "Aww, the screensaver went away."

  • I saw concrete streets, moving like ocean waves back in m y country in southamerica, IT IS SCARRY!!, the sound will always be in my memory, People in tall buildings feel the movement 3 to 4 times stronger, quakes are bad, you wont expect the earth to move and when it does IT IS terrible.

  • after the quake if you look at the computer at the top corner... BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!! lol

  • Actually its the Text based portion of windows setup...

  • what a great way to wake the computers from sleep mode

  • huh???

  • poganstick, you are full of shit lol. *Rolls eyes*

  • lol

  • I noticed that too! Yes prob a beta

  • Lol, there are Pc's running XP :P

"When the Nisqually Earthquake hit the Seattle area on February 28, 2001..."

XP release date: 25 October 2001

  • Lmao, true!

but it did really happen, and I was in 4th grade in gym at the time. The instructor was teaching us how to ride a unicycle.

  • Wait....your school taught you how to ride a unicycle?? i dont remember ever having that lesson in gym class. lol!

  • Haha! true!!

  • Looks like my bedroom.

  • hmm you must be obese. Try some excersize.

  • hmm nope. im thinner than that asian guy. im talking about the amount of electronics and computers ect.. why the agro? seems to be an underlying issue with you? waist size beyond 40 eh? perhaps your attitude says it, not me.

  • according to the usgs it was 6.9 Mw and it was 6.8 on the richter scale

  • But he's kinda cool for a while just chompin on his sammy! :-)

  • thats kinda funny

you see somebody sittin and eatin' a sammich

and then the earthquake starts and theyre all like "earthquake, earthquake, earthquake, earthquake" as if they themselves were a computerized warning system handling a whole bun ch of crap from, well in this case, AN EARHTQUAKE! i find that really hystaricle.

im glad theyre okay, that looked pretty sever too.

  • Well, they were rather far from the epicentre. The S-waves hit that location several seconds after the P-waves did, and you can see the two different types of seismic waves in that video. The P-waves cause light vibrations, while the S-waves bring much more intense shaking.

  • i hate earth quakes!! seeing this gives me the chills! looks like a pretty violent one 2... im n california and dreading the next one =(

  • now everybody just, STAY, CALM.

its going to happen any time now.

but i think we MIGHT, JUST, GET, THROUGH it! :):):)

  • OMG this is scary to watch counting that i was in this earthquake when i was in kindergarten... it was very scary

  • A BLAST TO THE PAST!!

  • Notice how one of the monitors has a BSOD.

  • I have never seen BSOD with Taskbar cisible. This one clearly shows a Taskbar

  • That was windows xp beta.

  • LOL I was gonna point that out. It's not a BSOD, but I'd laugh if all of them BSODed at once.

  • I see a pre-release version of XP on one of the screens. I think Mother Nature was repaying them for the Windows ME fiasco.

  • That's what happened when they rolled out Windows ME

  • XP did it´s job =)

  • okay, it's gone, back to work ;)

  • haha that might of been what happened too

  • i Wonder what apple would did lol

  • apple employees would keep smoking more weed. to come up with new ideas to sell to microsoft.

  • ah...kinda odd that of all places the earthquakes epicenter could have been is basically in my friends backyard...it actually did not start in the nisqually flats but was on Anderson Island...ya. ive been to the epicenter lol...i didnt live out here at the time but my dad was working on the chimney when it happend. mi mom actualy works in renton so she got hit hard 2

  • lol... id love to see all your shitty ass computers have BSOD

  • More probably that was the old NT installation screen. That is exactly how installing Windows looked prior to Vista.

  • * Boss walks in *

    Get back to work!

  • Look what a mess that office is, no wonder their stuff is junk. ;)

On a more serious note, having all that equipment up high isn't the best idea.

  • what ever happen to duck and cover?

  • ha i rember this, i forget where i was but it was freaky

  • Earthquake its not fanny you gays...... im from greece and i know..... the earthquake they is the bad natural phenomenon.... sneakiest.... and you laugh? shame

  • lol the fat guy wanted his sandwich :0

  • I was in a lab in an adjacent building, like this one on Microsoft campus, when the quake hit. Funny how folks just run out of a building or looking for a "doorway!" -- Toward the end you can hear a CLUNK as a Dell falls off the shelf..lol

This video was actually "banned" by microsoft just hours after the quake but the Media had already managed to get it. I remember the first thing I did was run to the garage to check that my motorcycle didn't fall over, which thankfully it didnt :) Cheers.

  • you can see a few computers jump off there screen savers =P

  • Blue Screen Of Death

  • default hard disk! please check and reboot!

  • im hungery

  • lol

  • lol looks like the computer at the end was installing a fresh copy of windows, im surprised there was no BSoD.

  • i would have held on to my damn sandwich too. lol

    thats fucking scary.

  • LOL

  • Delta9son... What are 'Asains'???....... if you're going to insult a whole race of people, first learn a bit more of your own language..... start by finding a dictionary, and looking up the words 'bigot' and 'facist'...

  • hasta la naturaleza quiere destruir microsoft

  • NO WONDER THEIR SHIT ALWAYS BREAKS

  • hahhaa

  • wow that guy was still eating!

  • it was steve jobs shaking the building because he was so damn pissed billy was trying to steal his ideas.

    TRYING

    AND FAILING

    MISERABLY

  • wow, i got chills

  • i was in kindergarden when this happened, it was my first earthquake of mine. it was also on my dad's birthday!i am scarred forever...=P LOL

  • so your 13?

  • i think he's 10..

  • idiot, im 13!

  • Delta9son: Stupid, ignorant bigot.

  • chodecleaner: douche bag.

  • This was vista's built-in spyware calling back home...LMAO

  • I remember this one.

  • I remember the Nisqually quake. We felt it pretty good down here in Portland (approx. 175 miles away).

I think a few reported lightly feeling it as far down as norhtern California, too.

  • Yep, we did. I remember it. I was going to get something to draw with when my room started to shake.

  • Must have been a test run of Windows Vista. LOL

  • ROFL!

  • *no programmers were hurt in the filming of this demonstration*

  • i like the effect at 00:43

  • coollllll

  • geez, hope every one was alright.

  • wat really happend is that Microsoft were launching a rocket into the air containing a super computer that would super computerly do super computer stuff in space...

  • chuck norris is doing pushups lol

  • LOL heres another one.

Chuck Norris went to the virgin islands and now they are just called the islands.

  • This was'nt and earth quake, is was just a bomb droped by apple but unfortunatley, missed

  • earthquake?? that was a rocket launched

    by "Apple".

  • Nice job strapping down the PCs--in a known earthquake hazard area.

  • hahah that poor guys eating his lunch and doesnt know whats goin on

  • If a few of them pc's would have dropped and smashed apple would be the leading computer software of today ..LOl

  • this video is feeling like real. amazing!...

  • omg i even can't imagine how it would feel like when suddenly ground starts shaking

  • Now gates will say... "Windows is an earthquake proof operating system"

  • Oh shit! I remember this quake! I lived in Salem Oregon at the time (Portland now) and felt it all the way down there. I was on break from college, and sitting at my parents house, when i started getting qeezy for (at the time) apparently no reason. Then i noticed all the hanging plants were swaying. I was like "Are we having an earthquake?"

  • So how did they manage to shake a stationary shelf?

  • @dwarfer77 its real

@TheMilkMan69 They Could Set Up A Office In The Back of A Van (Unrealistic i guess)

  • who's got the camera?xD

  • no one its on a tripod

  • Funky! I'd have been out of there faster, I think.

  • That's Windows Xp!!!

  • No shit!!!!

  • OK SHIT!!!!

  • Fuck you

  • That wernt an earthquake that was apple trying to bomb bil gates but missed lol

  • that was a big one! that's pretty crazy because we just had 4 in Willits, CA that we could feel. You can hear earthquakes come and go if you pay attention.

  • cali is on a fault line, of course you feel quakes...they happen every single day there

  • what he was saying is that you can hear them first since the sound is faster than the waves

  • Well, yeah they're happening constantly, but they're rarely big enough to notice.

  • really? We didn't know that 2COLDGIRL!

  • And the PCs are still running!!!!

  • I spent two and a half years in Vancouver and seattle from 1990 to 1992, I finally felt relieved when I landed at the airport back in New York. I never liked the idea living in a known earthquate zone and did not understand why some local people did not show much concern about it, probably when the situation could not be changed much, they might as well not to think about it! dancewu(dot)net

  • We californians feel the same way about tornados and hurricanes.

    And snow :)

  • i remember the earthquake that happend there when i was 4. exept the earthquake was the 2000 one. this one happend when i moved in 2001

  • i was working there the time the earthquake hit us and i scared to death!!!

  • im also dead

  • LOL @ THE PC GOING ON BSOD

  • real.

  • 100% real. there are cameras monitoring the people working in microsoft. and eventually the monitoring camera caught the earthquake.

  • Yea im in Bellevue, this is 100 percent real. Look up the 2001 earthquake in seattle if you dont believe it.

  • Trust me, its not fake. I live in Washington near were the earthquake hit and it was freaking scary.

  • tbh it looks fake looks like some 1 was moving the webcam and his freinds was shakeing 3 towers
