I live in IL. A lot of people here think that a tornado cannot hit downtown chicago. Tornados can hit anywhere at anytime.

I cant believe we actually believed a tornado could not hit downtown ATL because of its build. Its true, we thought that but that ended that night. Scary stuff. LIved here in Metro ATL all my life (Decatur) and I was in my basement at the time but we had the benefit of getting the news off TV and hearing the fire fighter sirens. I dont think downtown atlanta has tonado sirens but you cant hear them in that dome. THANK GOD EVERYONE WAS ALRIGHT!

@JSpearman4 Tornadoes have also hit downtown areas like Salt Lake City, Fort Worth (both of which were recently), St. Louis, Little Rock, Nashville, Miami... it happens and we need to be prepared.
