Can you believe at one point in the late-1960's Claudia Cardinale did a photo shoot (likely for Playboy or Esquire) that was called "Claudia in Bed" in which she was seen naked under covers in a brass bed...outside? I can't imagine if she allowed men to make love to her-her behind would had been filled with so much fluid (if you know what I mean) from those guys!

Nice tribute to the actress. As to her ethnic background, though, I have found competing biographies. One says her mother was, in fact, French. Another says her mother, like her father, was Sicilian. She wrote an autobiography. Unfortunately it's in French. Does anyone know the answer?

She didn't speak Italian until she started making movies. So she's more comfortable in French and regards Tunisia and Paris (where she lives) more like home.

Wow, so much beauty - the women of today (Megan Fox for example) don't even compare to the gorgeous glam of the past nor do they even begin to compare to the acting skills of actresses of this era. Thanks 'John.' Thanks too for introducing me to the song. "CC" was always one of my favorite beauties as well as actresses. Anthony Quinn said something to the effect that Sophia Loren was so beautiful that she was a goddess and unapproachable, but Claudia Cardinale was so very beautiful, but attainable. In the 90's, still lovely, she appeared in Werner Herzog's documentary "My Best Fiend." She was so unassuming and down to earth, something very refreshing in a beautiful woman.
