  • Without doubt one of the best of the very best of all times kudoz!

  • 15 people aren't inlove with a beautiful woman.

  • omg ! This was hit no.1 on the day I was born ! LOOOOOOOOOOOOL! :-)

    COOL :O

  • This song I have discovered was no.1 in the charts when I was born :) Thanks for sharing! Peace.

  • 15 guys are with ugly womans, but there's no such thing as an ugly woman!

  • @oprats you should see my cousin aaaaarrghhh

  • how can anyone not like this song is beyond me........be nice when using this site....mrste53

  • LOL!!... I remember this song!!...when I was growing up I didn't know a word of English (now I now a few) but yet I knew this song!!....

  • Man they are flying but having a ball ! AAAAHHHH these were the days !!!!!!

  • This tune is the reason I thought Dr. Hook was such a cool band in The 70's. In 1973, they wanted to be on The cover of The Rolling Stone; With tunes like this, it seems to me they wanted a return trip. Besides, when you think about it, what they say has a certain amount of wisdom behind it. The only thing I've been waiting for is a female vocalist to do the female answer to this tune; It would rock!

  • great video from a great mobile,al group just like jimmy hall and wet willie.

  • Hey Rosie, This is for you ----I can see you dancing to this on our beach. Much love from SAMMY XXXX

  • @ww1guide Hey Sammy thanks for this..I can't wait to show you the beautiful Australian beaches and yes I will dance for you...rest assured...love Rosie

  • this is music i miss the 70s

  • I am in love with a beautiful woman, her beautiful blue eyes! loved her from the first time i saw her.''Everybody wants her everybody loves her'' the song speaks the truth.I have been in love with that woman since i can remember.

  • This has always been such a great tune, fun to listen too!

    Dr. Hook!

  • great band

  • you realize, of course, it's the maracas that make this song! ; )

  • Ya know I just turned 51 and I listened to my parents music(from the 50's). It was great but then the 60's and 70's happened! Except for some early 80's there's nothing better than the 70's! There's a small amount of music today that's good. But notice they recut a lot of 70's tunage.

  • @vmcshannon I am a DEFINITE, CONFIRMED 80's baby ( musically speaking), but I TOTALLY agree>> the 70's were absolutely INCREDIBLE; BECAUSE I had heard that music I could fall in love(with music AND women--lol) Hail the 70's!!

  • You know i just turned 20 and i like Dr.Hook and a bunch of oldies, BUT i also love a lot of todays music too, I don't understand why people insist our music is garbage but when Dr.Hook came out it was considered "Garbage".. you sound like your parents.

  • thats good music.........

  • love watching how much fun they have on stage!

  • @ danie147 - you are so right, and this music keeps coming back - it'll never die - can't stand the crap they listen to today.....bring back da ole stuff!!! Wonderful Dr Hook - always loved them!

  • Dr. Hook is a true classic, I grew up on this stuff. Crankk up this stuff and forget about the modern garbage thats out today

  • I wanted to hear this song. I stumbled upon cdcme1 and getchasum's debate on music. Very fun to witness the debate. For my 2 cents: I believe, very much so, we've just been through or are in a classic period of time historically for music. I don't fully disagree with getchasum, but cdcme's arguments I judge to be more sound (love the MASH example). Perhaps getchasum was sunk by using "the cars" as example of genius. I firmly believe, historically, Bob Dylan will be on par with the likes, easil

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LVS T.H RARRRRRRRRRRR ;):):)

  • It's the double-meaning and wit in a lot of their lyrics.. fucking brilliant.

When you're love with a beautiful woman.. IT IS HARD.

    LOL..

  • @hooragood it may be hard but can you trust her she may may be selling her body to get what she wants from you and than move on.

  • @hooragood LOL.. I always said that years ago with 3 Dog Night and the song Easy to be Hard..

  • @blueticecho

LOL.. and "if i said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me..."

  • @hooragood yeah, they call them artists. something you wont see these days.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, wie geil ist das denn???

  • Super groovey!

  • super...das sind meine favoriten...!!!

  • Who farted?

  • @rowdymax1

    Sorry about that.

  • "Hey Ray...tell 'em who we are"

"Well we're big rock singers we got golden fingers and we're loved everywhere we play...we got a genuine Indian guru, teachin' us a better way.."

  • My absolute faviorite song by Dr Hook I still know every word even though I haven't heard in about 3 years amazing what a song does to you way to go Dr Hook..

  • The guy in the eye patch, I LOVE YOU for over 40 years, woohooo! Best Band!!!!

  • love this song <3333333333333333333333333333

  • credance clearwater revival, sweet, cream, bread, the byrds, jefferson airplane, simon and garfunkle...and many more 60's bands....now for 70's...allman bros, bto, black sabbath, chicago, deep purple, supertramp, abba(you may not appriciate them but they were huge) bee gees....i'd go on to the 80s...but i hope you get my point...not all great bands last...none of those bands still tour...all of them were big...for a time....not to mention pink floyd and fleetwood mac no longer tour

  • Brilliant

  • Rooster Coburn meets Jack Palance

  • To finish, nobody is going to give a shit (let alone pay big money to see ) music acts that are out now, 20 or 30 years from now. Do actually think Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Kany West or Rhianna will fill 20,000 seat buildings 20 or 30 years from now, like the Stones or the Who or Floyd or AC/DC do today, PLUS command big money ? Neither do I, and THAT my friend, reflects on the QUALITY and (non) staying power of todays SHIT music ! Sorry pal, the good days are GONE ! Accept it, dont deny it

  • @getchasumm do you know that until this years superbowl( a few weeks ago) the most viewed tv show was the end of the tv seris M.A.S.H....in 1984.. i believe...can you honestly tell me you havent seen a tv show as good or better than mash!!?......YOU MAY BE CORRECT...in that bands today and future bands might not fill stadium sized venues...but that has more to do with the average person having far more options to get thier music...not with quality of the bands...

  • @getchasumm to summerize...your 'favorite bands are'nt better because they can sell out larger stadiums.....just that the folks who grew to love that music had far fewer options...so that more people heard far fewer bands than they can hear today....i respect your defence of the music you love.....you are supposed to do that...i only have argument with your damnation of modern music...you have no way to know...its a 'cranky old man argument'....i walked 10 miles in the snow to school too!!!

  • @getchasumm just shut up dude and enjoy the music

  • "why don't we have this kind of music to listen today. I cant figure" "The more I listen to all the incredible songs that were made back in the "olden days", the more I realize how low the music industry has sunk in the 21st century." where's the "AUTO-TUNE" effect? Oh...that's right...people back then actually knew how to SING!. "Great songs never go out of fashion. Glad I was a part of that era" "i wish i was part of those times very much i'm 12 and would prefer this anyday over rap"

  • The following quotes are from a VARIETY of comments made pertaining to various 70's music clips on youtube. The artists refered to vary, from Styx to Hall & Oates to AC/DC. Read on, cdcme, its a VERY common thread comment-wise...hmmm could they (incl. me) be on to something ??

  • Lastly, you forget to tell me where the Goo Dolls are today ? Or blink-182, or 3rd eye blind, three doors down, again, I could go on and on. Nickelback has some okay songs, but if THAT is the best you can do, we're in trouble. Hey cdcme, get real fast, okay ? You are either majorly inept, deaf, or so young you are bitter you missed the golden era. It WAS better, and it would be nice if you could admit that. Why cant U bring yourself to say that things in music SUCK nowadays compared to then?

  • Dont get caught up in the "our" shit. We didnt THINK they were better...they WERE better. Can you honestly say Pink Floyd, the Stones, the Who, Zeppelin, Heart, Eagles, Kiss, Queen, I could go on...Dire Straits, Boston, Fleetwood Mac, have any equals today ?? They dont.

  • @getchasumm Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Nickelback, Three Doors Down, No Doubt, are SHIT !! My kid (17) is into (as are her friends) Zep, Floyd, the Cars, Journey...because it was GREAT music. Find me a band today with the quality of musicians as Queen !! You cant. They aint out there....

  • @getchasumm Yah, Seattle grunge (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden) were OKAY, but more like a fart in the wind. And good groups like Oasis, U2, Chilli Peperrs and Metallica aint new bands, they are over 20 years old ! Not new at all.

  • @getchasumm Technology has fucked things up, as have 10 million channels on tv. TOO much variety. No great stuff, tonnes of VERY avg. shit. Ditto playing time for young kids. My Dad (almost 88) tells me about HIS growing up in the dirty 1930's, it was actually quite similar to my childhood in the 70's...outdoor with pals, go karting, tree forts, fishing, etc. bb guns. Now ??? Bullshit gameboys, playstation, Xbox. The REAL shitty change has occurred the last 10 or so years.

  • @getchasumm "In several years, the bands now will be the next generations classic bands "? Really ???? Jon, you are wrong. Classic bands like Aerosmith, Floyd, etc are coming to an end. All I hear is Arcade Fire this, Arcade Fire that. Couldnt draw flies to Van, Seattle OR Portland shows !! NO bands today will be filling stadiums like the Who did, like Van Halen did, like Boston did, like Journey did, like Genesis did. Just wont happen.

  • @getchasumm Do you really think that ANYone will care about No doubt in 10 or 15 years ? Or Kanye West ? Or Rhianna ? Or Jack Johnson ?? Maybe at the Ballard Firehouse, NOT in big venues like OUR classic bands did. When U2 and the Chillis and Metallica re done its OVER. Not just for US, for ALL. Todays fans are WAY too fickle. Blame the youtube, twitter, "I need it now" generation. NO loyalty !! None.

  • @getchasumm where is destinys child now ? Blink-182 ? Sum 141 ? Simple Plan ??? Missy Elliot ? Lil Kim ?? Goo-goo dolls ???

Yet Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac, some 30 YEARS LATER, can charge 150 bucks, and sell out THREE NITES....., at 15,000 people.

WHO THE FUCK NOW (BAND-WISE) COULD DO THAT CONCERT BIZ 30 YEARS FROM NOW ????

    None of them !!!!

  • @getchasumm Bands like Foreinger, Journey, Kansas, Heart, REO, Styx, Cars, Kiss, Aerosmith. Sabbath, had LOYAL fans, cuz they put out quality tunes !! It WAS better !!...get that thru your head, anyone that says differently.

  • @getchasumm so tell me how you really feel.....do you see the irony of 'venting' about modern tech destroying society on youtube?? i really hope so. you do know that all those bands you think are so great are all here on youtube too right?.....where else will you hear dr hook...the diversity of modern media is just modern technology saving and rebroadcasting all the 'good shit' from as far back as possible....there may be 200 channels on tv but most are playing reruns.

  • @getchasumm also have you ever seen a band at a smaller venue?? so much better than a huge stadium when you are a 1000+ ft from the stage.....you are right, in that modern bands will have a a harder time making themselves heard...but have much easier ways of getting their music out there...you dont need a record company anymore...though a agent or publisist would prob help a lot...its a different world...but music will survive...and prosper...relax

  • @cdcme1 hahaha.....just as I thought, NO rebuttal to the fact there are NO bands like Pink Fl;oyd, Queen, etc any longer. You dont refute that fact, because you can't !!! Yes, I've seen many bands in small venues, but usually they are playing those cuz they MUST !! As for this medium (youtube), yah I like being able to go back when I want to, but would trade it ALL (plus the internet in general, cellphones, etc) to go back to say 1975 and see Zeppelin live, or Queen, or Pink Floyd, or ....

  • @getchasumm ive seen pink floyd in concert twice..you? also not the full zepplin but plant and page...if i remember right...also moody blues 6 times...csn 4 times...grateful dead lots of times,..eagles twice....steve miller twice, emerson lake and palmer, the zombies...the temptations and any other great band that came my way...most of those that i listed were in larger stadiums....you can see zepplin live and pink floyd thanks to the dreaded technology...

  • @getchasumm no i cant give you any bands that will still be touring in thirty years.....nobody in the 1960s couldve given you the info you want either....there were hundreds of bands but you only seem to recall about seven or eight.....the same ratio is probably applicable to bands today...i will say again..just relax..its only music...music is great...even if i have to actively search for it

  • @cdcme1 guys (I presume you are) like you make me laugh...why is it SO damn hard to call things better than others ? Are there no restaurants in your area that are great, and others that suck ? It just happens that the 1967-1982 era WAS the best era for music, ever. If you think I am barking up the wrong tree, take a look at ANY vid comments on ANY music from that era here on youtube...Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Hall & Oates, Dire Straits, Heart, the list goes on. ALL comments say things like:

  • @getchasumm "why dont we have this quality tunes any more ?" And: "why isnt anything TODAY like these great songs"? It aint just me. The same ratio is NOT applied today, and thats what I'm trying to say...it WAS better, why cant you admit that? Only 7 or 8 that I mention ? How about the Cars, Heart, Boston, Journey, Foreigner, Styx, ELO, Dire Straits, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, AC/DC, I could go and on. I just named 10 bands that beat ANYthing out the last decade. Why cant you get this ???

  • if your in your 50s like me you understand this music, it is and always will be understandable to the generation that grew up in the era of the greatest music that will ever be. 50's, 60's and 70's will out last and live on for generations to come. it was and still is the best of all time by far.....LONG LIVE OUR GENERATION FOREVER!!!

  • nice

  • oh stig.

  • i love this band i was in love with Denis at this stage . he was /is so lovely

what a voice. i grew up loving this band and boys the memories , brilliant thank you for adding this song x

  • Definitely coulda used a little more cowbell to go with the maracas.

  • why did i think they were black?

  • Im 39 yrs old. My parents listened to Dr Hook when I was a kid. They played our county fair back home in Bedford Pa.It was music they shared. They divorced in 82 when I was 12. Mom died 4 yrs ago of cancer. Dad was bitter for yrs over the divorce and an ass at times. I just played Sylvias Mother and he muted the TV.I knew he was thinking of her but asked anyway,"bet that brings back memories huh?""Makes me think of someone" he said."My mother"I added..I was right. Grateful for the memories!!!!!

  • wish to go back. but, still have memories.

  • so great 70' music!!! thanks for the video!! it is one of my favourite!

  • NO ONE is hotter than Dennis in this video! Honestly, someone find me his twin!!

  • Dennis Locorriere~the man of my dreams!!

  • im 15 years old, and i have to admit i love this sort of music, in particular this song, people may find that weird, but its just classic

  • i am 40 and i remember when music use to be nice. now a days music is a bunch of shit. i do not listen to it period

  • Nice tune.......but were these guys gay?

  • @ACORNSUCKS Ask your dad the dick lickin ball sucker scrotum breathed FAG He would know

  • @CRACKHUNTER219 Who stuck the dr hook up your ass?

  • @ACORNSUCKS hey acorn. get your mans nut out of your ears and listen the song says "When you're in love with a beautiful woman". dont sound like something gay guys such as yourself would sing. dumb ass. these guys got more puss then you would see in 10 of your lifetimes.

  • @suprajm Who stuffed the watermelon up your ass.........

  • It shows that at one time we didn'f take things so damn serious and had some fun had some good music and friends

  • looks like Dr Hook is another illuminati

  • i'm 51 years old and remember music from the 70s when it was brand new. some of it was good, this is an example, and some of it was crap.

To say there's no good music today is at least short sighted. There are real musicians today who write original music, play the music they right on their instruments, and tell amazing stories in song. If you don't believe me or can't see it, I really feel sorry for you.

  • @MrIDKnow yes but there are so few in the 70s there were many

  • @MrIDKnow Yes, I agree with you. SOME music of all periods is good, and some is bad. To say "everything ever recorded when I was 14-18 is good, and everything from 2005-2010 is bad" is more than a little simplistic.

  • i'm 51 years old and remember music from the 70s when it was brand new. some of it was good, this is an example, and some of it was crap.

  • todays music is a joke. 70s and early 80s will be remembered forever, long after we are all gone believe that. you think years from now you will have a rap music oldies station lol. its not rap its crap and tell no story period. no beat, no meaning just shock value. part of why the kids of today are like they are. theres no real talent today nowhere. lady blah blah is a madoona want a be and even rap is fading but no one will admit it. long live rock and roll but just the oldies

  • @NICKIEYES1977 my mom would say these same comments to me,,too,,,I like my generations music of today,,but I got a real eye opener in Canada,,,me and mom were trying to find some common ground,,we took in a country fair while on our thelma and louise trip,,lol,,,seen this guy called Andy,,,he was just the bomb...check it out,,he was rushed when he got off stage ,and me and mom,,finally have a common interest,,Andy Probyn rocks,,,he did this same tune, his videos great, see unbreakable heart ,

  • wonderful memories......

  • yeah the memories

  • everyone has their own opinion, and that is what makes the world go around. we like what we like. i think people tend to enjoy music they were around and grew up with. i like a variety of music. i love the Doors, but i take a lot of heat from friends because i listen to their music.

  • Una canción que la escuchaba en las radios, pero en vivo no la habia escuchado, me parece bien, harto antigua si jajajja

  • why can't i share videos on facebook

  • 70's,80's will stand the test of time.todays' is gone tomorrow!!

  • THIS WAS MUSIC, NOT NOW!!

  • agree that today it is hard to find a band that plays instruments. music in the 60s and 70s was fun, but was music. my kids make fun of some of the music i listen to, but it takes me back to a time of great memories, as will when my kids get older (they'll listen to the music they grew up with). i think a lot of us enjoy music that brings back great feelings, and there is nothing wrong with that.

  • i used to listen to dr hook with my 2 big sisters when i was growing up"really lovely memories"

  • That's what you call a "real music"

  • old time favorite!!! i love Dr. Hook!

  • Ive always loved them!

    Kinda redneck BEE GEES

  • this is real music pure class and real talent

  • this is real music

  • i am proud to say that jay....which i happen to know..who sang with dr hook...

a very sensitive.., and one hell of a nice people...i agree this guys were story

tellers...some may say well your behind the times....or you're still living

in the 60's or 70's...in reality it has to do with taste....and this guys were

actually enjoying what they did....like frank...and dean, and so many others...

thank you jay for being part of my life...

    eddie...

  • they NEVER should have combed their hair.case in pointGRATEFUL DEAD.i still lov em though

  • More Classic Music

  • I totally agree with you guys, this was an awesome era, of great musicians, and song writting... Loved it so much.. different world today and so not for the best either...

  • luvya's

    paula

    auatralia

  • Way back when I always thought it was the guy,The pirate guy that had the voice.

  • @spock8131 The guy with the eye patch, Ray Sawyer, did some of the lead singing. Their voices were similar; great harmony; but it is Dennis who did most of the romantic, sexy songs and a lot of the funny ones, too. Ray still performs in the U.S.; Dennis performs in the U.K. Myself, from the sound of Dennis' voice, I thought he was a black soul singer -- not until I saw You Tube did I know different.

  • I thought so 2...Great music

  • It's true most of the older stuff is a story and I can relate to most of the great songs from that time. I think it's like a script if you have a good story everyone can relate to then it's almost certain to be a great song or movie etc.

  • One of the great songs of all time in my opinion. I drank a lot of cheap wine (Lancers, Boones Farm etc) and loved on some lovely longhaired (hair top AND bottom, god I miss it) when this song was a big hit. Had the 8track. Just a wonderful sexy song. Not a "ho or bitch" in it. Death to hip hop, pop, rappers and rap (and most of what now passes for country. Yuk) .

  • this song seems to be a dance or club song

but the leading guitar is country style!

it's different , but can be get along !

    it's so cool !! :)

  • awesomeness.

  • A great old song :0)

  • my jan loves this so freakin much lol

  • I agree... that's why todays "groups or singers" don't last. I always dare my sons to notice that nobody listen songs or remember groups of 4 or 5 years ago... but everybody love this songs.... they make you think, they make you feel and thy make you smile..... thanks

  • Dr. Hook.... the hillbilly Queen.

  • Love the very nice sound the Lead Guitar Player is getting out of that Ovation Viper he's playing

  • @doneaster -- Lead guitar is Bob Willard Henke. He is great on a number of Dr. Hook songs -- My favorite is Knowing She's There. It has the Willard Effect, which he is known for.

  • Love ittttt!!!!! I hope one day they will agree to have a live concert, I'd pay any price for a first row ticket. It's true nowadays the noise you hear on the radio is not music, there's very few good singers out there who sometimes don't have the exposure they should have.

  • @RossiElena if some of them were still living

  • these guys seem to enjoy being on stage...good stuff

  • Great talent...they disappeared...Dr. Hook.....how bout the pirate..lol..Loved them growin up.

  • This music (Dr Hook) is alot more complicated speaking from a muscians viewpoint than many realize.

  • Yeah, this is one of the worst songs in the history of pop music.

  • great song

  • I am from Dr. Hook's generation. First the took poetry. Then they added music to it. Today they take a bass beat, write one verse then repeat it 20 times with lots of overdubbing to disguise the fact that that face can't sing. Its all about selling the face and not the music today.

  • super musik

  • Chuck Norris on rhythm.

  • I will be 41 in Sept. and I have to agree that this was REAL music and yes, the lyrics were meaningful and real. I was a kid when these guys were really popular but I love them and I know that some other people my age do also. Lyrics were incredible back in the seventies and some eighties. It makes me wonder if today's young men ever fall in love the way they did back then. Some of the lyrics back then conveyed such powerful emotions....killer lyrics!!!!!

  • @Jacqueline871 I agree i grew up on music like this.i'm 42 i'll be 43 in sept of 2011 and i think of all the ol school greats like dr hook ,kc and the sunshine band bee gees just to name a few .I miss those days even though i was a kid i understood what the lyrics meant and i enjoyed it...it gave me inspiration...

  • Dr. Hook's music reminds me of a more sacred time... a time where 'spending the night together' was the depth of explanation. Sex or no sex... not important... SPENDING THE NIGHT TOGETHER could include this and much more... or less...

  • @Jacqueline871 Love your post!! I agree, the same for women though.....

  • @Drumboy5165 its mens fault that women act the way they do now.weve cheated and beaten and lied for so long they just cant take it anymore, and now the death of true love is the cost.

  • @bilcon12 Bull...

  • @Drumboy5165 bull?why else are they acting like men?

  • @bilcon12 Are you serious or just flippin' high? Did you miss the whole 'we don't need men' womans movement? Have you skipped the fact that the majority of male America is effeminate or castrated? I really don't give a crap how old you are, however you may want to review history for one fricking day just to brush up a hair.

  • @Jacqueline871 im 36 and grew up on this music, great stuff, and i think your right guys dont fall in love like they used to.

  • @Jacqueline871 I do not speak for all the males of the younger generation but I recognize(d) myself in this song . I'm 24 myself and I was brainwashed with Dr hook by my mother at an early age. Haven't stopped listening to them.

  • @Jacqueline871: sure ..I'm 23...and I love listing genuine musics...don't get it wrong but i belong to somewhere in in the West with my hats and boots..

  • Hell yeah!!!

  • que bonita cancion

  • I love the 60s - 70s music brings back memories i remember singing and dancing to Dr.Hook love them.

  • I have a fever and the only prescription is... more MARACAS! And a little bit of eye patch.

  • @RobRoast ... and maybe a little "cowbell"!!

  • @RobRoast Don't forget the cowboy hat!

  • this raquel i love this song

  • AMAZING SONG!!!

    Those were the days...

  • WOW to listen to them is to relive my toddler years , memories of things and events . I just love it . !!!!!!!!!!

  • Digging the eyepatch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When this song came out, it made me think INSTANTLY of my hs sweetie, Brenda B., cute li'l gurl with the twinkly brown eyes!(sighs)

  • I love this song!

  • so weird that this is Shel Silverstein - The Giving Tree - music of the 70s was so underrated - it really was the peak of songwriters and musicians
