  • The ferret is gone! Our pest tech. believes a gopher who originally started the tunnels killed the ferret since they refuse to share their tunnels-even with their own young-I've found dead babies everywhere...It will cost upwards of $500. to rid the yard and a 30x40" area of grass we had install for our Daschund's play and NOT some pest-gopher OR ferret. Risk of injury or disease from bites or contact with urine of feces is always a problem with these monsters!!

  • ITS A TRAP!

  • These little monsters are 50x more destructive than any gopher or similar nuisance critter. Ours seems to have taken a hiatus through other yards-ever since my landscaper came through with lawnmower, etc., careful NOT to hurt it. I dislocated my knee stepping into an unseen hole in the grass that has been filled in along with all others we could find with a few "gifts" added upon closing: Recycled doggie droppings are great "tunnel freshners", btw. Turn about is fair play, little beastie!! LOL

  • Welll...excuse my error in discription...this critter is apparently the off-spring of an escaped pet Ferret (it has NO tattoo in its ear), and according to our Humane Society and Animal Control and more than one Vet., it is considered "wild" now since it has never been confined or tended to by humans, making it WILD and a nuisance. They are illegal to sell in Calif., and destruction is their middle name!

  • @Believin4ever I doubt it's the offspring of an escaped pet ferret. Pet ferrets can't survive like stray dogs or cats they will die unless someone finds them. They have no hunting instinct. The black footed ferret is native to the USA and is an ENDANGERED animal. If it is a black footed ferret it's against the law to kill them. You need to have it transported to a rescue that breeds and reintroduces them into there natural environment.

  • @Believin4ever If it was a black footed ferret I hope they didn't put it down. That would be heartbreaking. However There may also be an illegal breeder in your area because ferrets are pack animals and if there is one, there must be more that got away. Vets can't refuse treatment of a ferret in Cali even thought they are illegal. If the state finds out you have them you pay a fine and get them back. One of your neighbors is probably making money selling them.

  • My goodness, the ferret with the white on its neck looks like my ferret precious :]

  • I like one of them, their stripes are so cute!

  • OK...it's listed as a "Trap". ...it looks like a plaything instead. I have one wild out in my yard doing horendous damage to my lawn tunneling and putting my Daschund at risk of disease. This is misleading and NOT funny!!

  • @Believin4ever LOL THERE ARE NO WILD FERRETS. You must have a raccoon, skunk, or possum or something because FERRETS ARE NOT WILD XD Idiot.

  • @dreamera1 The black footed ferret is native to the USA and is a wild animal. They are also endangered. So it is possible to have a wild ferret in your backyard but unlikely because they are endangered.

  • You have a blaze ferret that looks surprisingly a lot like mine

  • its only illegal if ur caught...

  • i just had to live in California!

  • @xxrob511 Crazy, right? Mustela putorius furo have been so domesticated, they can't survive for more than a couple days outside. Cats can, and frequently do go feral, why aren't THEY banned from CA? (And I don't even live in CA, lol.)

  • @x86op I read they're banned in HI and CA because farmers claim they'll ruin crops and steal chicken eggs. They're worried they'll form packs and reproduce. This is impossible because legitimate breeders fix them right away(a female in heat can die from anemia) and domesticated ones can't survive. They have no hunting instinct. They are basing this on something that happened in Europe. However fixing ferrets there was illegal because it was considered inhumane. So honestly the law is ridiculous.

  • @x86op Ferrets can't even find there way home like a dog or cat. They have no homing mechanism. Also if a female goes into heat in the wild and finds no partner she will die. This would be unlikely since they usually come fixed. Ban the damn cats that ruin my flowers or the dogs that crap in my yard.

  • the first one tht looked at the end of the yellow thingy looks lik my sistrs ferret tht passed away :(

  • @Lalafd31 aww im soo sorry to hear that :( but someday u guys will be reunighted!

  • the one tht was bitin the yellow thingy lookz just lik my ferret destany lolz

  • haha my turn my turn lol

  • 2 ferrets 1 cone

  • They just keep wondering "Hmmmm, what's in this tube?"

  • your fuzzies are very cute! :)

  • 0:25 Peekaboo

  • Cute ^^

  • ferrets are so cute when their is more then 1

if you have 1 ferret, you must have a lot of toys or they will be lonely!! (T.T)

  • @teothedemon My ferret hates other ferrets. He's what you would call an anti social ferret. But he does fine without a partner. (Even better since he hates others XD Else he'd be stressed out) But buying toys for a ferret is silly. They'd rather play with other random stuff you have in your house! XD

  • @teothedemon mine doesn't seem to be lonely. he likes human company... and not everyone can have more than one ferret. they adjust fine even if there's no other ferret around. they also choose what they want to play with and half of the toys you buy can be useless to them. as long as there is someone to play with them they will be just fine.mine is fine with a human company

  • my fret on youtube is sweet

  • sorry for my comment not making sense...that was 6 months ago so XD but i still think there just kittys!! they just longer and can climb up for leg and chew on everything...well they have tugg-o-wars so there like a little catdog

  • @amatsuhiko@ Do they smell? Mine stink! x Any tips to keep the odour down?

  • @MusicMad911 It depends a lot on what you feed them; Quality food makes a big difference, and if you bathe them too often, they smell -worse-, not better.

  • @MusicMad911 don't feed the a fish based diet. Feed them chicken and turkey. And put baking soda in their cage/litter box (if they're trained).

  • @MusicMad911 try to avoid fish if you can and keep the cage and bedding clean.let the little one out of the cage as much as you can and don't give a bath too often.if nothing helps then it might be you being too sensitive... some people just can't handle a little bit of smell. i don't like the smell of a dog but some people do...

  • Those ferrets are just cute :-3

  • lol

    what was in that?

    lol

i love ferrits lol sorry for AANY miss spelling lol

    lol

i love them they are so cute teehee

  • when ferrets bite like is it really that bad

  • It can be. Little playful nips to the finger or toe can be a surprise ouch, a full-on angry attack though can be quite vicious. Pretty much the same rule with any animal: if they're hurt, scared, or wild, if they don't know you, handle with extreme caution.

  • Right. After all, their bites are designed to break the spines of rodents the size of rabbits in the wild, one of our fingers is hardly a challenge for them eh?

  • i think ferrets are like little kittys..and cats kill rodents too so i don't think its that bad it there playful and there teeth look like cat teeth to me

  • @SadisticKitty94 ferrets kill rodents too ... that's what they were bred for

  • @hungarianflower yeah i kinda figured that...there pretty much long cats that can climb up you

  • @FerretJohn My fuzzies have never drawn blood. My dog bit harder when we played. I think it's in how you raise them. I have 4. I've had 6 in total. Will passed away as a baby from distemper. This was before Petco had vaccine regulations. Lola passed away at 5 1/2 from cancer. I adopted Mae and Gusteau, who are 4, Julian is 3 months, and Ted is 1. None of them bite me. When they're babies they nip but if you give them love they grow out of it. I get kisses and they cuddle and sleep next to me

  • soemtimes but never hurts i have 3 one of tyhem just leaves a mark lol

  • no they dont hurt that bad. when they latch on it hurts a bit

  • nope, they just nip to play, they dont chomp, mines never broken my skin

  • the ferret that was standing up and went in the tube last is a total camera hog

  • awesome i like pinapples too but also i am getting a ferret for my birthday!!!! WISH ME LUCK i have had one before but she was yeah.. brings me to tears we had to give her away!!! to some snobby girl!! ugh i just cannot wait untill my handome cutie Meeko!!

  • omg! i cant w8 to get ma ferret ive been going on about them for months n ma mom finally let me get a ferret :D any day now! woot

  • Congratulations^^ Just a warning; once you get a ferret you're addicted to them for the rest of your life.

  • Congrats, I've been wanting one for some time now too. x3

Just make sure you've done your research and know what you're getting into! : )

  • Lol Got Your Ferret Yet

  • no not yet....:( a man has to get bak 2 me about a pen.....if not im building 1 :P

  • Oh. My. God. Your ferrets look soooo similar to mine. Awesome. Only two out of my three ferrets have had cancer, but luckily, we found a surgeon in time. They are still alive to this day. I love ferrets. Studies show that ferrets are as smart as cats. Cool, huh?

  • i like pinnapples

  • my wife and I ran clear plastic tubing throughout the entire house connecting our ferrets two habitats one for sleeping ,eating and litter box the other for playing sand box pool etc... it is a bit expensive but allows the ferrets the ability to roam with us having to worry about them getting hurt. Plus its kinda cool to see them run along the ceiling in the tubing.

  • That is cool.........

  • aww... poor ferrets... wish i had one. my sister wants one too!

  • Ferrets should not be out of cage unsupervised. They crawl in recliners, clothes dryers, refrigerator motors, etc and can die. If you want to give them their own room, Google "Ferret proofing" first.

    Good luck!

  • i just got a baby girl ferret and i want her to be free in the house, but I'm not sure if i can train her to not just crap anywhere o.o'

BTW i named her Jessie ^_^

  • mine has the guestroom when no one else is around, I'd agree with above poster that it is either very dangerous, or at least very bothersome to ferret proof the whole house. they do run around freely tho when I am home, and even tho they're mostly good at using the litte rbox, accidents still happen, especially if they're annoyed with me

  • so when ferrets are angry at you they go like 'fu and your litter box, shudnt have done ... to us' and they poop anywhere? :p

so if youre nice to them they use the litterbox? :P

  • well that is my basic observation yes, "accidents" tend to happen more often if I have been withholding treats, worked more than usual, or been annoyed by not being able to find my shoes :p

The other day my drilling from putting up some extra shelves apparently woke a ferret up, he went out of a box, looked at me, took a dump in the nearest corner, and went back to sleep.

Still, no matter what, litterbox training for a ferrets is as far as I know, generally only 90% effective.

  • Ferrets tend to pick the spot they 'litter' in, like a corner away from their eating/sleeping area. One method of litter-box training is to leave their excrement in the litter-box, in hopes that the smell in that particular spot after you've cleaned up any accidents will tell them that THIS is the spot to poo. Another method is to wait until they've chosen their spot and move the litter box there, and once they've gotten used to it, move it to where you want it like a bathroom. Good luck!

  • Also, as has been said, letting them run free all the time isn't such a good idea. They're very mischievous and like to get themselves into anywhere they will fit, which is potentially dangerous if your house isn't 'ferret-proofed'. Google the term and it'll give you some helpful tips on keeping your kit safe.

  • ferrrets are awesome i have my ferret sleeping right now but hes awesome to play with btw does anyone elses ferret jump around when they get ecxited

  • I think all ferrest do that.

  • it is called a ferret war dance

  • can ferrets have flees? because if they can i think yours have them no offence

  • I have ferrets running around the house as well, I don't really find it that much different from people having dogs or cats.

  • as long as they're descented they shouldn't stink. Thats sad you keep them outside. As long as you clean up after them like any other animal you live with there shouldn't be any kind of offensive stink. They are a lot of work though. You definitely have to love them a lot if you let them run around in side like we do.

  • Your ferrets are Tubby teehee lol

  • im getting a ferret in 7 days im getting it on nov 17th

  • are you jealous?

  • duma"sss"

    Nice work.

  • Aww there cute.

TaiFerret is right Ferrets do smell better than dogs.

  • Curious ferret! They are so cute :)

  • ferrets are so cute. i wish they weren't so stinky so i could get one D:

  • I don't think they're stinky. I think they smell better than dogs.

  • i think they smell like wet rats. no offense, it's just i had a friend that had a male and female who made everything smell like themselves. i don't know how regular you need to bathe them so the hormones and i don't really have the patience or time to regularly bathe and keep still a rascally weasel to bathe it. It's my mothers say anyhow, not mine.

  • you actually only bathe ferrets a couple times a year. bathing them too often makes them smell bad because you're getting rid of their natural oils, so after too many washes their bodies produce twice as much oils. they really don't smell bad unless bathed too often, which many people do, thinking it helps.

  • I bath my ferrets once a month as directed by my vet and weve been doing just fine for 3 years

  • Sooo sweet:))
