  • I have watched so many videos and the all show holding the thread with the index finger, I simply can not do it this way and just hold it with my middle finger as you do, maybe because I am a long time knitter and crocheter holding my yarn/thread this way. Am so glad I found your video and you hold thread the way I do, so as good as you are it seems that it is fine the way I hold. Thank you so much, now I don't feel such an "outcast" in my tatting group!!! You are A+++ on instructions!!

  • I echo the positive comments. I watched several tatting how-to vidoes but yours *really* illustrated the flip which has been driving me nuts. Thank you!

  • i love your detailed instructions! Where do I get the tatting utensil?

  • First time I could see the elusive FLIP! whoo hoo!

  • THANK YOU!!!!!! FINALLY... someone who can teach me!! I never thought I would get this..hehe:) Really appreciate that. :o)

  • I thank you for the way you demonstrate tatting. I thought it would be something tough to learn but you made it sooooo easy and simple...loved it...I'm looking forward to more videos...lol..I'm a rookie.

  • Very nice lessons! Maybe the best on the video so far! Thank you very much!

  • That's right, the instructions and step-by-step moves are just great! I've been looking for such a vid for long time. Thanks!))

  • Great video. Nice clear instructions.

  • I can't tell you how much you have also, along with another tatter, made my day. You are great at illustatioms. Keep teaching.

  • Thank you very much, i just started and coulndt find that flip anywhere else. Thanks a bunch!

  • Thanknyoum

  • Your a very good teacher. I can really see the flip, and you proceeded slowly so it registers. Thank you very much.

  • thnks for this video. i'm able realise the stiches.thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge

  • I love the way you show the "flip". It makes it so much easier.

  • Great! Thankyou! So good that you used larger cord to make it SO much easier to see!

  • Great video and very helpful to me! I'm quite happy to learn from such a clear, concise video.

  • WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? YOU ARE THE FIRST I HAVE SEEN THAT GAVE A GOOD DEMO. THANK YOU

  • Thank you so much; just discovered your videos! Slowly and clearly shown - you're a superb teacher!

    God Bless…..

  • Oh God bless you! You are such a great teacher! I wish I had found your video's first. I've been muddling though by reading and trying to figure out how from still pictures. I finally figured it out but it would have been so much quicker if I'd seen this first!

  • oh my word how easy when you know the flip !!! thenk you for making it so clear, can you do some more please !!! for beginners xxx

  • This is SOOOO clear...thank you so much for taking the time to help all of us who would like to learn this almost lost art but couldn't find anyone who knew how to tat to help us. Well thought out instructions, background and materials...so easy to see...you certainly are an accomplished teacher...

  • "TAUGHT" meaning tight. Not "Taunt" which means to bother or annoy. "Hold the thread taught" "Don't taunt the lion in the cage".

Otherwise great video for teaching the steps and big enough to actually see.

  • @ZeRtiste62 this is rude....she was kind enough to teach us. people pronounce things differently. I think you need to go back to school for social etiquette.

Thanks for this wonderful how to video.

  • @ZeRtiste62 - since you seem to appreciate correction - it's "TAUT" meaning tight or stretched with tension, not "TAUGHT" which is the past tense of Teach, which means to instruct or impart knowledge. "Hold the thread taut." "She taught the correct way to tat."

Thank you tjsproudmom for the very informative video. I am trying to decide which sort of tatting I want to pursue.

  • Wow this is the clearest video and the most precise instructions I have seen- thank you so much for posting this!

  • Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I have been trying to learn from countless books and videos but no one has demonstrated the "flip" of the knot. You have THE BEST video. I love you.

  • Thank you for posting this. As a beginning tatter, this video has been very helpful to me and one of the easiest to follow I have found so far.

  • I have viewed many videos and yours was the most clear. The beginning of the video does cut out (FYI). Maybe you could continue making videos? Thanks Maureen

I've never tatted before and am eager to learn.
