  • apple is gonna sue the project iAd

  • bad iphone, the worst cellphone ever

  • #OMG

  • iphone games and apps without the app store at iphoneshare, org #OMG

  • How did they show the iphone lcd into the projector ?! anybody help me understanding that?! :)

  • how do u even see iads now i havent seen any have u guys

  • lol iAD so original

  • Have you ever seen an add like this? ya know... Anything even close? lol, Jobs is such a funny bastard.

  • Wrong, Steve, I'm searching. You don't know me!

Buy a suit, will ya? Bum.

  • where a developer can confirm if it were actually sold 100 million devices?

  • ...I'm surprised to say this but, this is cool!

  • i haven't been able to find a iad in an app yet does anyone know an app that uses iad?

  • jobs is fuckin filth rich.

  • ht tp : / /gifts.freebiejeebies.co . uk/20 0271 pretty please!! x

remove space before putting in www

  • Steve Jobs is "The Man" and Apple is "The Company"......enough said!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:35 WTF I use search on my phone more than on my computer

  • @ozzytonygeezerbill

Then you're one in a million. I find myself using apps way more than search engines..

  • i dont want ads in my phone. I want ads to stay the fuck away from me.

  • Soo will those ads be shown in every singe app? Aww shit...

Seriously what the hell? We got adds in every possible place now, even phones. I hope there is a way to disable this thing. I really dont like to watch any more adds. Besides this wont make much difference in the app cost. Since costs are reasonable now and consumers are willing to buy apps for few bucks. (No reason to lower costs)

Developers make more money and Apple wants its cut. Feels like its the only thing behind this.

  • @KaupunkiApina

You clearly didn't watch the video very closely, did you? This is 100% up to the developer, it is not being forced in any apps. Like Google ads, this will allow developers to make profit even on free apps. Unlike Google ads, this will allow users to stay in app, and developers will be able to make more money than they would on Google Ads.

  • on android you would get a public API that every advertiser can use such things, but apple....

  • iAD is just Googles HTML5 Steve and you know it

  • @pogmotho1n And they used Google Maps XD

Ah and Google should be "bad" because they attack apple with android and whats about iAD? They do the same to Google and thats good, because competition makes things better :D

PS: Open Source and Web is the future. So Google is the future ;D

  • Typical control freak egomaniac sociopath behavior to take other peoples inventions repackage them and claim them as your own

  • @pogmotho1n

Right, because Google invented advertisements.. really? you're dumb. Let's also not forget how much more advanced iAd is over Google Ads. Google Ads are incredibly annoying because they just link you to a website.. this allows videos to be played and interactivity.. Something Google does not have.

  • Man Apple does everything good. Their the best for the future/

  • @Rehabveteran except customise hardware from your mac or macbook

  • Love the new apple iAds but Jobs claiming that interactive/flash ads "have no emotion" is ridiculous (3:10).

  • It took me ten seconds to figure out what he meant by "on a desktop computer, you search".

He meant "you google". But he couldn't very well put it like that now, could he?

  • Apple is not adding advertising because they want it to look good, their adding it so they can take a huge bite into the free app advertising boom. They get 40 percent, with is billions to a big greedy Apple

  • apple are just to good, its science, it the future

  • I Like Apple™

  • WTF STEVE JOBS?

Umm, no offense buddy. But I actually don't want any ads on my apps.. Please???

  • @HmongYou2Tube

There not being forced, and you already have Google Ads..

  • ill pass apple.... i already have all of the 4.0 features on my jailbroken device minus the iad and i do not ever wish to have iad.

  • Wow i love this iAd. I look forward to seeing some brands i like in popluar apps and downloading some content from adds and watching some movies, instead of a redriection to the browser and loosing my app.

Steve Jobs has done it again!

HTML5 ahahhahahahahh Suck on that Flash

  • This is very good. It will improve the experience for consumers and advertisers alike. Much better than that crap AdMob puts out there. Too bad google just spent a fortune on acquiring admob. Looks like it may be obsolete now.

  • like i said in the second part to this vid.. Real estate is very limited on our phones and i don't want an ad taking up what little space i have. Plus its very distracting. Its like you're in the middle of a conversation and someone else in the room is wearing bright colored clothing yelling at the top of their lungs, "look at me!" Its obnoxious.

This formula is certainly not the holy grail if there ever was one.

  • On my android phone there are apps like adfree that will remove all admobs ads on my apps and my browsers.

  • I Love Apple But There To Expensive 4 ME

  • Once again, not understanding that the best advertising is by word of mouth. People switch off to forced advertising media. It is more likely that the emotion that is being spoke about will ultimately be negative, I already feel negative about this, it is unlikely that I'm suddenly going to be turned around about this. Make iAd optional, you'll please more of the people more of the time.

  • that is a waste and will anoy the iphone users (i don´t have one tought)

i just imagine youre in the middle on a game or a funnt app and then the ad comes, it would be frustrating

  • @assholemon

Hey dumb ass, there not pop ups! There simmilar to Google ads

  • @GarebearShields well, after some time i saw that there not like pop ups

it´s less anoyning but still there some people that don´t want to see those ad´s

  • first jobs said 50M iphones,25M ipod touch and 450k ipads = 75.45M units sold

    and now he says 100M?

  • @rolosruletheworld20

Excellent suggestion i think Apple shut down the leaked iPhone stopping them from actually being able to use the phone

The majority of you people watching this vid simply can't acquire new iPhone, since it will be $497

But I discovered on the Apple website today they are giving away a ton of iPhone 4gs. Oh and, heres the link to their contest site ... just copy and paste

    way。com/iphone4gfree49

And the registration code for the second step is FACEBOOK4996

  • Does da iad work for iPod touch

  • This is just another method of ongoing Apple iControl.

The best part of this scam is how Jobs tries to sell this like Apple cares about getting developers paid. If he cared about getting develpers paid he would let the developers handle their own ads like they have in the past.

Quite the crafty way of taking a forty percent cut.

Jobs arrogance knows no boundaries. If he was innovative he would try doing a keynote without bashing someone else.

    Good bye Apple!

  • @MotionAudio7

Yeah, because Google was so good about not bashing anybody.. get a life.

  • Straight to the action : 5:30

  • If Apple would add in the ability to simply turn iAd *OFF* (leave it on by default, but give us the option to disable it in the Preferences panel), that would alleviate a lot of my misgivings about OS 4.0, if Apple doesn't give us a way to turn iAd off, well, there had better .....be an app for that...

Hmm, maybe I should learn how to write aps for the iPhone/iPad, and develop an app that disables iAd permanently, I'm sure it'd be a popular download....

  • This is freakin stupid we dont need ads.

  • @trackstar1able We already get ads. These ones are gonna be way better than the google ones you get now

  • And more to the point, if Apple insists on shoving iAd at us, and shoving ads at us every three minutes, I simply *WILL NOT UPDATE* my iPhone to 4.0, and at the end of my AT&T contract, will most likely switch to an Android OS based smartphone, this is a very poor business decision on Apple's part, this will anger and alienate many of their customers

Sorry, Steve, I'm *NOT* a walking wallet, if you force iAd on your userbase, many of us *WILL* jump ship to other smartphones

  • I've been a Mac user since '84, I've repaired Macs for 15+ years, I am a fan of Apple products, I *LOVE* my iPhone 3GS, but.....

If Apple thinks I'm going to tolerate them shoving ads down my throat, they are *SORELY* mistaken, I paid for my iPhone, I pay for my bandwidth every month, and *I* am the only one who should have control over what I see, and what I see DOES NOT include ads, I've NEVER clicked on or bought anything from a web ad and I never will, ads waste my bandwidth

  • so i have to throw away 40% of my ad profits all so i can stay inside of the iphone app. What a waste. Apple just wants to cut into everyone's profits.

  • @fishdashtrackdotcom yh but more people will visit the ad like he mentioned in the clip ...great shout

  • @fishdashtrackdotcom

You would be making more than you would off of Google, and you don't have to use this in your apps..

  • @fishdashtrackdotcom well, you do know that you don't get 100% of your google / admob ads right? The difference is that, they don't tell you how much they are winning per click, but just tell you what YOU get by that.

  • @fishdashtrackdotcom Dude, Google takes your advertising money too. So what do you mean?

  • @fishdashtrackdotcom

youd actually win more profit because people will actually click the ad genius.

  • Keyword here is "emotion". Most web advertising so far has lacked that level whicj is the most important in all advertising. Steve Jobs has understood that and is offering a way to create great advertising in the digital communication spaces.

  • @svarod

    Bingo !!

  • okay im having trouble understanding. what exactly will this do? and how will this affect an iphone user?

to me it sounds like it is going to ruin apps.. having an add pop up every minute.

    someone please explain!

  • @boynextdoor93

Its not gonna ruin any apps, its just gonna replace the UGLY Google ads (made by AdMob) in applications like Paper Toss and in Websites like TUAW/Engadget etc.

  • tPALM WEB OS is brilliant and does multi-tasking so fast and easy. I want to see an iphone user use WEB OS and see how fast and easy it is. And Android is even better because its better than iphone.. Used an iphone 3GS before it wasn't that nice to use, clunky and couldnt multitask, and forget about ATT. and WTF is this ad shit ????. WEB OS you can go right back what you are doing. PALM please sel part ofl yourself to DELL or HTC!! so they make the hardware =). Iphone and ATT suck

  • OS 4.0 section 3.3.1 says developer must stop using 3rd party tools. This is the beginning of the end for iPhone and iPad apps.

I am starting up a new software company, and there is no way I would put my efforts into such a capricious company. The iPad just became the iFad, in my opinion.

This makes developing for this platform about the same as developing on a console, and that's not the kind of change you make in version 4. That's a fundamental change.

What a bunch of ass clowns!

  • "Toy Story 3 is an awsome movie, that Disney's is putting out in June. ..... I've seen it, it's really good." - lol, funny :D

  • looking at steve jobs now (after watching the ipod presentation), one would think the ipod first came out in the seventies.

  • Google vs. Apple, Apple vs. Google... whatever!

What I care about is, instead of being attacked by ugly, annoying ads I will be able to click on an ad which actually acts like a cool app!

  • @msmyla91 My Words Exactly !

  • Come on Jobs. Apple started only recently to really care about app developers and their users. you made had put a monopoly on ads to be used with the iphone and a cost. now with the nexus one and other android phones coming out you reposition yourself as the defener of open source and commercial app developers of all kinds. too bad people forget and fall for it so easily. Google certainly has its flaws but at least they try to empower their users. and at the first try not long after.

  • i pray that they will expand this on mac os x and fuck google with it ...

  • @alfst even if this happened it would not fuck google. Think about how many OS X users there are. Also think that these same OS X users will still see Google ads in their browser anyway.

  • @pcampbell0 of course, but who knows, check apples latest patents about in-OS ads ... doesnt keep the google ads away of course

  • @alfst

They will be banning Google Ads (and all other third party advertising agencies) from being in apps. :) Good thing to.. Google Ads are fucking horrible

  • That's not really an ad, it's a site. When the ad was clicked it's the equivalent of being sent to a site, so YES i have seen an ad/site like that lol. The banner that the user is exposed to is still plain and has little emotion. But still a breakthrough in advertising.

  • wow - no doubt jobs is good... he can make ppl applause and be mesmerised by adding - what is no different to a web banner ad - to an iphone. The only difference is that instead of leaving the app like ads used to make u do, its all contained.

    Possible more annoying that amazing?

  • It's beginning to be like cable where you pay to watch commercials. I thought the argument on fanboys about not wanting flash is bec they hate ads??? now you want iads???? I'm really no so gonna buy any apple products!!!!!!

  • AAAAWSOME!!!! honestly, this is possibly THE BEST way of having ads EVER: it makes ads far less uncomfortable, since they're always in the same place and not spontaneously appearing randomly. Appart from that, they're easy to get rid off, and what the hell, I may be interested in what they're advertising, after all, nowadays you can choose what kind of stuff you want to be advertised about, in which case, the iAd format is really cool. Love it

  • "all this stuff was done with HTML5, by the way...". Looks great, just like Flash. I think this is a strategic plan to gain HTML5 popularity with advertisers. It could work.

  • Just to clarify: this makes things BETTER, NOT WORSE! There are already ads in thousands of iPhone apps. But right now, when you click on one, your app closes and the ad opens in a browser.

With iAds, nothing changes if you never click on on ad. But if you do, the app suspends, and the minute you lose interest in the ad and close it, you are instantly returned to your app where you left off.

It doesn't mean more ads, it means less inconvenience!

  • @ayoole Agree, I think this is a solution to the anoying ads we see everyday. And, why not, they could be funny...

  • Note to Apple,

I am the customer! I paid good hard earned money for my Iphone and pay even more money to At&t for a servce provider that is lacking! Now I have to deal with ad on my Iphone that I paid for! FU apple in a really big way!

Sure it makes you money but REALLY really angers your customers!!

  • @appleorange34 You dont have to click on a ad , its similar to the pesky ads which appear in certain apps (like Paper Toss) that link us to Safari .

Basically this is just how Apple is trying to tread a territory held by Google.

  • @KingKabooka But, maybe I am weird (fully open to that) but I hate ads on apps...in fact, I think it is so tacky that I generally delete apps that have them. There was a game, I paid 99 cents for, and there were no updates. Finally one came and I excitedly updated only to find it did NOTHING for the game and merely inserted ads and simulations for other games made by the same company...no thanks! I deleted it.

  • @appleorange34 I guess the trick here is that advertising is not as disruptive as on TV but it brings added value and interactivity (IF you want to / choose to click on the ad). Ad doesn't have to be annoying. In fact, the more relevant ads are to the user, the less annoying they are - or in fact, some might find them even useful...

  • @appleorange34 You paid for the device and the cellular telephone service! Apps are additional applications made by other companies. They are not a service provided by Apple.

Are you going to scream at Microsoft because a video game doesn't work or is being lame? No, Microsoft just made the OS, not the game or software that is bothering you! You are the one that sought out that program.

  • Oh well...I thought I was going to update to 4.0 for the multi-tasking, but this iAd thing is like a trojan horse for those of us who appreciate an app without cheesy ads trying to sell us more products. Also, what does this do to storage space...doesn't it make apps even "bulkier." I will never understand how Apple does business, or why people seem to mindlessly clap at anything the company rolls out...

  • Interesting !

    Après Adwords ..iAd ...

  • thnkx dude
