  • I am good at flying on Real Flight. Could this be a viable first plane for me? ...or should I get a trainer? I love the scale planes and would prefer to skip buying a trainer if possible.

  • @pzl1nz It's very common to want to skip the trainer - but that generally results in frustration. I would strongly recommend that you try a high wing trainer first. This model flies well but it doesn't have positive stability - meaning it won't help you fly straight and level. Also it is more complex with the gear and flaps.

  • My God that looks well! I am awaiting the little FlyZone DR1

  • @GadgetMart Thanks! Enjoy your little DR1, I'd like to get one of those too.

  • The Flyzone FW-190 is a great plane to fly, but I had to swap out the stock speed control for a heavier duty unit. I guess it's ironic that in all my years of flying rc this little electric is the only airplane I ever managed to catch on fire...

  • @veteran7821 That's too bad! Sounds like the model survived!

  • @briguy99 Yeah it survived. I had just touched down on the runway when I noticed a little orange glow just behind the cooling vanes on the spinner. My first thought was the battery. I ran up to the model and yanked the battery and smoke poured out of the cowling and the speed control was melted into the foam...I replaced it with a 55 amp Hacker...flies great now!

  • nice plane. i would add the swastika on the tail

  • @buderboi Yeah, I know - most models come without them now.

  • Best rc FW-190 flight video on Youtube !! i love the dog fight captures : )

Thank you for this wonderful video !

  • @solomanaltar Thanks for your comment! I really love this plane and I enjoyed making the video.

  • Nice video review, I am stuck though I have played with the split flaps alot and I get hardly any movement down it seems like it needs a longer servo arm, any advide on this?

  • @vizzuleyes First, increase your endpoints to their max, both ends. Then set up your flaps so that they are down about 1mm when they are "up" by adjusting the connections at the servo arm. Then you should have a fair amount of flap. You don't need a lot of flap, maybe 30 degrees.

  • is this easy to fly

  • @sjiyuey It doesn't have any real bad habits, but it will be a good idea to have some experience on a four channel model before you try this one.

  • @briguy99 yea i mean i have flown 4 channel planes but i dont have this one... and i thought it might be good. Also how would you rate this out of 5 stars.

  • @sjiyuey Hmmm... I'd say 4 stars. I'd dock half a point because I had to mod the battery tray (very minor) and another half point because I had to add a bit of weight to the tail to get the CG correct, as well as move the ESC back a little bit.

I know others have had issues with the landing gear, mine is still holding up very strong. I do a few touch and goes on our grass field every time I fly it and the gear is holding up very well.

  • Thanks for the suggestion briguy I will try

  • I love mine to briguy but my wheels get stuck in between .I have to go upside down to close them and dive and pull up hard to get them to come down

  • @MrDjh66 That's weird. You might have to play with the retract servo linkages to make them work properly - I know I had to adjust my flap linkages at the servo horn end.

  • How big is your flying field? It doesn't look that wide.

  • @sonicapollo It isn't that big at all - there is a bit of a field beyond the grass strip, but that's all surrounded by tall trees. That's British Columbia in a nutshell!

  • Are spare props easy to get? And a pilot figure? Plane looks great and seems to fly great!

  • @eckman69 Spare parts for this plane are on their way. The plane is still a joy to fly :)

For pilot figures you're on your own, I pulled the dude out of my FMS Trojan and trimmed him a little and he looks fantastic.

  • @tenrazo215 Much appreciated! I hope you enjoy my videos.

  • @tenrazo215 You won't be disappointed :)

  • @tenrazo215 It isn't a speed demon, but more than enough for scale flying, aerobatics and unlimited vertical!

  • six channels ready to fly out of the box along with a very beautiful model.

I love it and im gonna pick me up one myself =)

  • @Mondscheinfpv I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

  • I know a good video when I see it! This one is probably the best I've seen. I love the way you inter-mixed in flight scenes, and kept the sound of the master video! Fantastic touch! I also like the pure sounds and lack of music. I love music, but in flying videos, it's annoying. You video was superb. Oh, now I want the Focke Wolf really badly! What a beautiful airplane! I have the Flyzone Super Cub and I love it! Thanks for a great video. I will be watching it many times.

  • @hot4plasma Now THAT's a comment! Thanks for your kind words. I hope you enjoy more of my videos, and the Focke-Wulf too!

  • @hot4plasma Now THAT's a comment! Thanks for your kind words. I hope you enjoy more of my videos, and the Focke-Wulf too!

  • Nicely done video, the in-flght "chase" video shots are a nice touch too ! Certainly does not lack power ! Sounds very nice too. I'll have to add that to my Christmas wish list ! :-) Beautiful field you're flying at by the way !

  • @MrBvbike Thanks! It's not a speed demon, but the speed is very scale and performance isn't lacking otherwise. It's a favourite for sure!

  • Great video.

The detail is great. It's just a nice flying electric warbird with scale appearance.

  • @internaman Thanks! I agree - an all around joy to fly and look at.

  • Nice vid, I'm sold.

  • @toydoctor88 Thanks!

  • PLANE LOOKS GREAT BUT FLY VERY SLOW WITH STOCK MOTER WHEN IT'S WINDY DAY...

  • @mendari2 I suppose that "slow" is relative. Mine held its own with the PZ Me-109 and flew faster than scale. This is more of a fun scale model than a pylon racer.

  • I just picked one of these up last night super sweet can't wait to try it this weekend

  • @MrDjh66 Nice! Let us know how it works out for you!

  • hey wheres ur field? obviously u live in metro vancouver and i do to, i juss got a maac card and i dont know where i can fly comfortably without being a member of a club?

  • been eye'n one of these for a while now and you made my mind up for me..i cant believe how smooth and scale it looks...any tip stall tendencies?

  • @timothyrbates79 No tip stall tendencies that I can see. I tried to get it to high speed stall in a turn without any luck. Landings are a breeze, even better with the flaps deployed.

  • Great review. I've been thinking of buying this model for a few weeks now... You just made my mind up for me. Love the chase camera work.. Great flying. What are your overall thoughts on the plane.. Anything negative that you might have noticed?

  • @MrPopeofmaspeth My experience has been positive after two days flying, probably ten flights. I found it a bit nose heavy with a 2200mAh battery (the manual asks for an 1800mAh one) but a bit of weight in the nose made the model fly very neutral.

  • Nice plane, nice flying, fantastic camera work from the camera plane. Can we get some photos of the camera plane setup?

  • @BigWhiteGuy73 Not much to see - it's an HD keychain camera velcroed and electrical taped to the canopy of the camera plane. We didn't take any photos - it wasn't very pretty ;)

    Thanks for your comments!

  • Nice plane. Good flying, nice landings, that last take-off, letting the tail come up before pulling on the up helped to make it look more realistic.

Good video shooting too. Keep up the good work.

  • @bnrusso Thanks! Frank is a great camera guy. I like to let the tail come up before leaping into the air with taildraggers, it's nice to know the plane is flying before you haul it into the air! The plane lands very nicely too - no surprises. The wing loading is quite low so it's slow and floaty - with the flaps down in slows down a bit more.

  • Nice flying plane. Looks very smooth and balanced on the ground and in the air. Thanks for sharing ;)

  • @trublu2nu Yeah, it really flies well - good balance with no bad habits. Thanks for your comment!

  • Thanks for the review. I have one ready to maiden and had red a number of things that were of concern on the landing gear. Glad to see they've held up for you.

  • @cloudsplitter24 Thanks for your comment, good luck with your maiden!
