Latest news from the ER Magazine, Winter 2011. The magazine from East Renfrewshire Council. google.com/site/barrheadscotland/ regarding the future plans for Barrhead..

  • @jimbangles Excellent I'll definitely check that out.

  • Am I the only to see a certain kind of beauty in abandoned place ?

  • @Cortake I totally agree with you, I've always thought abandoned places are beautiful, it's kind of a full circle that things that are created from the elements of Earth are eventually absorbed and taken back by it.

  • @Cortake There is a beauty in the earth reclaiming a place but a sadness for the loss of the buildings where once people worked and had many memories.

  • @Cortake not at all love them too

  • brilliant work always love your videos! keep them coming!!

  • @BobJ93 Thanks Bob, I'll have plenty more videos coming this year :)

  • amazing, as usual

  • @xneo329 Thanks :)

  • The music makes the abandonment even more haunting.

  • @hempev Thanks the music is by Jupi/ter you should check him out.

  • no worries and thanks for keeping me posted with the shadows of history from the brother land of the celtic isles how alike our peoples are nations of many past kings warriors alike brave as any heart could be culture in you is the culture in me ..past culture art incraved stone the distance time brought us ..reminding just how close and all so near , highlands river streams through the fields of fire, abandoned scotland for it is in the shadow of the men that see nestled in bonds past history

  • @ultanbeare Thanks for the comment :)

  • Beautifully shot and great subject. Kudos.

  • @gasgas270 Thanks :)

  • @AbandonedScotland I thought this was spam (Message) Until I saw the video, my my, this impressive!

  • you guys are doing a great job; world is changing, deeply. I think we're living a kind of digital revolution where the man work is done by computers and robots and business models have changed totally. Scotland is a beautiful and magic land...hope to come back for a vacation soon ;)

  • @fetzcou Yeah I think over the next decade the world will change dramatically and has been changing, is it for the better? Who knows.

  • awesome thumbs up!

  • @NinjaCthulhu Thanks I appreciate it :)

  • Nice video but I am not a fan of the color grading on the interior shots...The blue looks unnatural. Otherwise... I'm jealous as hell that you have such a nice facility to shoot and explore... *sigh

  • @LanceCampeau Thanks for the comment, that was the type of style I was going for but I like the colours in the video :)

  • With the music it's just stunning, a very good atmosphere ! Bravo

  • @hyakhyak Thanks for saying so, the music is by Jupi/ter should check him out.

  • Thumbs up!

  • @Fliegenpilzhamburg Thanks :)

  • thank you partage nadette

  • @Sudimagesdu34 Thanks

  • Excellent video. To me it comes as extremely eerie due to the fact that the images are so close to the present day. extremely eerie

  • @ShapelyDice Thanks, sometimes people forget that things are left behind. It was quite eerie being in there!

  • your videos are part of my life and they make me feel so relaxed i would go mad without then thank you so much

  • @LukeAndJema Thanks I really appreciate that, I'll certainly make more :)

  • should work for the bbc

  • @YouxArexAllxLame Thanks for saying so :)

  • Great video.

  • @paweletkrzywda Thanks :)

  • Love the whole series

  • @Awesomeman5870 Thanks I honestly really appreciate the comment :)

  • Great project.

A word of warning to everybody reading though.

Before you start exploring derelict old factories etc, get some information on Asbestos and learn to spot it.

These places are often strewn with broken shards of it. If you disturb it, you could be in for a nasty shock in 20 or 30 years time. You could even take it home to your kids on your clothes.

Smokers 11x risk of lung cancer compared to non smokers

Smokers exposed to asbestos 55x risk of lung cancer.

    Take care :~)

  • @MrCyclist68 Definitely, very important that people are aware of this. It's also important to note that not all asbestos is bad but precautions must be taken on visiting these types of places.

  • I don't understadn the point of this video, what is it showing?

  • @MsMAdHaTtErNo1 Then Bugger Out Mate !!

    I Find it Fascinating !!

  • @MsMAdHaTtErNo1 It's basically showing the abandoned places that people leave behind and helping to document our social history :)

  • Somehow, this feels really eerie... But it's still awesome! :)

  • @RandomArrictine Thanks for saying so, I was just trying to show how I felt on exploring the place :)

  • Nicely done. Perfect music too.

  • @IchabodTodd678 Thanks :)

  • really cool! it's so sad to see these places left to waste, you've done a great job showing this, thanks!

  • @MsRandomnotes1 Thanks I appreciate you saying so :)

  • DAMN! I love these videos! Phenomenal feel to all of them!

  • @CurtisTheSpazGamer Thanks I'm glad you enjoy them :)

  • Thank you so much for creating this channel! I always want to explore abandoned areas near me, but American trespassing laws are stringent and life destroying in cost for fines. Your quality is so high, I feel like I'm right beside you on your adventures! Thanks for the experience=D

  • @spongmario Yeah fortunately Scotland trespass is only a criminal offence in some circumstances. Thanks for the commenting! :)

  • Another great video, thanks for sharing!

  • @janez1952 Thanks for saying so and commenting :)

  • I love this kind of stuff :)

  • @Gameday2159 Thanks :)

  • I love the shot at 1:55 the circuit table shot...

  • Thanks I like that shot as well :)

  • beautifully done. it really tells a story and shows the temporary nature of everything. busts through the illusions. I love your work.

  • @littlewingthing Thanks for saying so, nothing lasts forever but we can only try and document these places for future generations so mistakes can hopefully not be repeated.

  • thank you for sharing, great work!

  • @LadyeAnn Thanks I'm glad you think so :)

  • You videos are unique and extremely thought provoking..what a waste..They should be responsible and remove these buildings...why just leave there...I really enjoy your work, but it is sad to see...

  • @sherrylynn70 I think in most cases historic buildings should be preserved as much as possible with demolition being a last resort.

  • I agree with dick2478. Your vids are really excellent. Like the music, too.

  • @grizzlyten Thanks for saying so, the music is by Jupi/ter check him out :)

  • Great work of Art !

  • Your videos make me feel sad and nostalgic. Keep up the great work. People have to know about what we are losing and have already lost.

  • @Aristilus Thanks, yeah I feel it's important to show these places from Scotland and around the world :)

  • I've shot some super 8 in there - really cool building

  • @dirtytrainers That's cool have you got some video footage on YouTube?

  • Some buildings acquire a certain sumptuousness with decay, even if they were factories.

  • @Vertigo1871 Yeah it's sad but at the same time holds so many signs of the past which hold a unique beauty.

  • Outstanding as always my friend :-D

  • @scottishbadboytracks Thanks :-D

  • beautiful! this is the real face of corporate capitalism! Marx could not have said it better. Waste, dislocation, and the destruction of community and civil society. Even if that was not your intent, I still loved it!

  • @TRichmond1964 Thanks, yeah I think it's important to document the places being lost and what some might see as the failings of current society so they can be seen now and in the future.

  • magical. thanks for the share. the music is really touching and inspiring for me to hear. What is the band?

  • @SuperEarther Thanks, the music was made by Jupi/ter, there's a link to the soundcloud you should definitely check out his other music.

  • I need to get out with the camera, uck the cold

  • @DurhamTelly Yeah it's been freezing recently! Definitely try and get out with your camera :)

  • Terrible!... thank you for it!...

  • @lucabez Yeah it can be terrible the causes of closure but I think it's important to document so we don't repeat the same mistakes.

  • Hi @AbandonedScotland,

of course!... you did a great job!... thanks a lot for this nice video!...

    luca

  • Nice stuff

  • @nixvet Thanks

  • Keep up the good work I still watch your videos and love that you send them to me :D Liked !

  • Thanks I'm glad you like them, I'll definitely keep you updated with videos :)

  • Your videos really are breathtaking! I know many have said it before, but you have some of the best abandoned stuff on Youtube. I do this kind of thing myself (as you can see on my channel) but your professionalism and quality is truly stunning! Looking forward to more videos!

  • @bxx32 Thanks I appreciate it, yeah I just checked out your videos you've been to some really fascinating places as well some of the old houses are great :)

  • Great job, once again!

  • @iiTheContortionist Thanks for saying so :)

  • A lot of and I mean a lot of people lost good job's with the unnecessary Closure of this profitable Work Unit which was very successful for all the companies who used it! many of these people were are! close friend's! appalling closure! of a Factory which was well Government subsidised! constantly giving the companies huge financial gain.. :-/

  • @smilemediagroup Yeah it's sad to see companies just being able to turn peoples lives around for the sake of some extra profit.

  • Nice one!

  • @PhantomDog666 Thanks

  • Documentary Defined !

  • thanks i wrote it to be that way sorry i should have said lol:)

  • @ultanbeare Haha no problem, I really appreciate the comment and the time taken to write it :)

  • nice camera where can i buy ip :P ?

  • @000CODE000 It's a canon 600D, you can buy it from most camera retailers :)

  • And Alex Salmond wants to keep this all to himself? Keep up the good work, although I am sure it is time-consuming it does not go unnoticed. STay COsmic ...

  • @cosmicordering1 Thanks I appreciate you saying so.

  • Very good video. That place didnt look that damaged or very old or burnt or anything major. Why was it closed?

  • @Reallybigmonkey1 It has been stripped out quite a bit, I think Nestle just wanted to move their operations to somewhere less expensive.

  • very interesting

  • @Lesattridge Thanks :)

  • Great images, the old buildings would hold a lot of stories from the past.

  • @Breatherable Thanks I appreciate it, there must be some stories from the people who used to work here.

  • Brilliant.

  • @Fightosaurus Thanks :)

  • Very ghostly. Have liked X

  • @liverpoolboxingbaby Thanks I appreciate it :)

  • very nice, liked and favourited.

  • @conor845 Thanks Conor I appreciate it :)

  • from what i have seen , a bound to earth spirit would be bound in the place not the time

  • @pyramonitor Ohh well I hope you feel I've done the place justice :)

  • Another good one. And if anyone died on the job there or if it was a great part of their life te spirit would probably want to make a visit .But the question is, would they see it as it is now -or as when the factory was in action? Hmm

  • @SpiritualDimensionX There's only one thing for certain, we'll never know for definite.

  • great footage something very sad even the sound of silence carrys the voices of the past ,this now abanded castle where once a family of workers did their duty ,now all we are only reminded with the echos of those hands that worked , some of the many workers moved on to a different future and sadly some are in their graves ,but in the wind that echos in the hall ways there is laughter of the many people so nestled around each other , brick and stone abandoned and wind that echos nestle people

  • @ultanbeare Thanks for the comment I really appreciate it, almost poetic.

  • A perfect combination of sound and pictures, great work.

  • @BurkeBarry Thanks I appreciate you saying so :)

  • @7JPedro13 Thanks Pedro :)

  • Wonderful images !

  • @Theghostswithin Thanks I'm glad you liked it :)

  • Another excellence from U again ! Nice video , and sad again to see such big places goes to waste !

  • @dramaguy1000 Yeah it is sad to see it go to waste, it might be beyond repair now but I'd like to see the land re-used for the benefit of people again.

  • @AbandonedScotland Ya , can see some parts are abit beyond shelter for anyone , but i think if can restored it may be nice !

  • very nice... and very interesting!! :)

  • @sherrbear926 Thanks I'm glad you like it :)

  • cheers great footage of sad times.

  • @endtimes23 Thanks for saying so :)

  • Abandoning places like this ... is it progress ???? It can be just the strike of a manager's pen ! Great vid

  • @GaryGSF Yeah alot of people would have been affected by the closure of the plant, unfortunately we can't change what has happened but hopefully one day we will learn to re-use and learn from our mistakes.

  • There is something sad yet calming about this video. I believe the sadness is a loss of what was and the calmness is the process of nature reclaiming it. Ashes to ashes dust to dust. Beautiful video! Annie:)

  • @evpinvestigations Thanks Annie, yeah I think the sadness is the direct effect on people by the closure but as you say nature reclaiming the place is beautiful at the same time. Beauty can appear at the darkest and most unexpected of places :)

  • Your investigation of this melancholy site is enhanced by intuitively creative camerawork

and sound design. Water dripping through various orifices mixes with interior debris to brew

    a toxic industrial soup.

  • @larrycravat Thanks for the comment Larry, your comments always sound so poetic and I appreciate you taking the time to do them :)

  • Your videos are all quite beautiful. Thank you for sending.

  • @zetimzetimzetim Thanks for saying so I really appreciate it :)

  • looks like the U.S. under progressive rule. -Misery and desolation.

  • @rickster348 I think it's affecting the whole world at the moment, definitely isn't restricted to the U.S. :)
