R.I.P John Carter my prayers are with your Family

  • i wish i had a time machine. i would travel back in time to the 50s.

  • been waiting to hear this song again.

  • I found the single on Ebay. I'll post it very soon. It's slighty different. This one here is the alternate cut.

  • i still couldn't find the "original" cut, looking forward for your post^^

  • I posted the song this morning. I did a "video response" to this one.

  • like this one more than oh what a night*****

  • Excellent tune! The original lead singer, Johnny Funches does this one. He had a very distinctive "nasal" voice well suited to 50's doo wop ballads. The best 50's Dells songs are the ones he sings lead on. Its a shame he did not live long enough to take the stage with the group at the rock hall of fame awards. He left the group in 61(before the big hits) to provide steady income for his family (he was married and had kids before the other guys)He worked as a foreman at a steel mill.

  • Thanks for your info on Johnny Funches. I always wondered who this singer was. Great voice, and I agree with you that the best Dells songs featured him, like "Why Do You Have To Go."

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! Been lookin for this song on You Tube. What you posted is the alternate version. Im looking for the original version. The one on the original LP "Oh What A Nite" is slighty differnt. I appreciate you posting this song.

  • Tight little tune.Rare and good.

  • Real NICE, up until now I thought the only good one they ever did was Oh What A Night. Thanks for the post!

  • I'm glad you like it, was the same opinion till I discovered this jewel...
