Have been playing guitar for 35 years, and despite all the Superstars that come and go, Mel Galley still sits at the top for me. NO ONE could replace him in Trapeze. Unique in every way and the funkiest right hand in the business.
Hey y'all..I'm the other dude on the guitar...it was an absolute thrill and inspiration to be jamming with these guys for a couple months...what a feel Mel and Dave had...and of course Glenn is a divinely gifted funkrock genius...his live jamming influence will be with me forever....I just saw him at NAMM and am really looking forward to his amazing new band!
what an amazing force of nature he is! thanks, Craig(the guitarist with the hat!)
@flyingfingersusa Wow, for real? What an experience! Sadly at the time this gig was happening I would have been about 7 or 8 years old so I missed out on alot of great music. But my Father was a huge fan and that's how I found out about alot of these great bands.
I hope everything is going great for you and much respect to you Craig!
This is a GREAT vid of a great gig and there is a tape of the entire thing. I saw it complete several years ago. This is among the least of what's on it. They do all the killer Trapeze tunes, and are in top form. Someone's holding this back, thats all. At least post a tune or two from Medusa and You are the Music...!!!
I saw the original band in their warmup concert just as they started the tour for this album. Great band that was really appreciated in Texas, but seems hardly known outside the state.
I remember this song from the Hot Wire album back in the seventies. The best funk Rock ever recorded. I played this album to death. Mel galley solos were searing!
Does anybody know how we can get hold of more footage of this or anyother Trapeze Gigs. I loved that band and still love what Glenn is doing, very sad to hear Mels news,he was such an influence on many guitarists. My prayers are with him and his family at thistime.

Didn't know this video existed. I was there standing just to right of the guy that keeps waving his arms at the front of the stage. Incredible band.

One of my all time favorite bands, saw them on their 1st U.S. tour back in the 70's and own all of Trapeze's LP's.
As a long time fan, I was crushed when I heard of Mel's condition and the prognosis.

Should have said the original lineup for this tour in that Glen had already left the band.

One of the best songs of Trapeze from the great "high & wire" album (the first one without Glenn).
This is a great performance too, really good with Glenn featuring on bass. I haven't more words!! GREAT FUNK ROCK!!
