Can not a terrorist from Tehran stand at attention before the American flag, hand placed nearly horizontal at his brow, tears streaming down his cheeks, and yet still hate America with every fiber of his being? Saluting a flag is equally an expression of insecurity as it is one of respect.
btw, Obama is singing in most of the misleading photos.

the protest against wearing the pin was due to his standpoint that what he SAID was going to portray his patriotic nature as opposed to how he LOOKED. Trying to get away from our perception of appearance over substance.
