@andretatontos Its depending on how many GB you use to save your games that you play. So basically thats something i cant answer. you will have to figure that one on your own
@legobaxter You are actually wrong about that, Any game system contains GB's, not MB's. I wasnt talking about that anyhow. He cleaned out his Memory card not the system.
@xelarepusuperalex Erasing memory card. The cubes on startup mean how many save blocks are on the memory card, I think, not sure what cleaning the laser has to do w/ the blocks here.
@FeeLtheHertZ ~ I'm not sure either, but this is not the first time I noticed it. I took note of it after the very first time I cleaned the laser, but I didn't have a before and after shot... so the second time I cleaned it (months later), I remembered to film a before and after. Actually, the 1st time I cleaned it, it was much more dramatic... there were literally dozens of cubes... the whole screen was full of them. But like I said and you said, I'm not sure what the significance of it is...
@eatdrywalI Maybe it has to do w/ unplugging the power for a while, which resets the internal memory that doesn't "remember" how filled your memory card is. Obviously there's no way cleaning your laser would have any correlation to the blocks on the screen, AFAIK, the blocks virtually represent the blocks, or saves, on your MC's.
@eatdrywalI Sorry to interrupt your conversation here with FeeLtheHertZ, but please let me correct you. The "Laser" you two are talking about is actually called an "Eye". That is what reads the Game disc's that you insert into the Console. Cleaning the eye has nothing to do with the white cubes on the loadup screen, it just makes it easier to read the discs you play. You have to erase game data off the memory card to get rid of the white cubes.
@FeeLtheHertZ I think you may be correct... I changed memory cards and now the screen has many cubes... BUT, I still don't know why after the cleaning there were more cubes...
seriously could anybody tell me what is sony trying to do with this scary fogging thing?

The white cubes are the indicator of how many ps1 games or DVDs you've played
andretatontos 8 months ago
@andretatontos no they're not. The Solid white cubes indicate of how much data is stored on the Memory Card.
