Great video DD, it was neat to see that war nickle on top, my wife had a similar occurence the day after a heavy rain, her's was a 1941 Merc with full bands, the best condition found Merc I have ever seen you can see it here.
Now you're going to be stuck on the silver dimes, lol. You used up all your quarters in the last video. Still, another nice hunt. You can tell that merc had been dropped not too long after it was minted. Usually those older mercs are the worn ones. Congrats on your finds and HH!
Great vid as usual DD! I miss your elaborate and awesome intro though....bring it back! I'm still working through the iron falsing issues. I spend a great dea of time digging nails because I get that occasional 12-46, 11-45, etc. I just don't quite know the tones with certainty yet and I hope it comes together soon! Good finds bud and awesome surface find! Still wating on my first war nickel.
@pulltabpirate Don't dig those if the number jumps to 16-35ish in between the good ones. I avoid 95% of the falsing by slowly "wiggling" the coil over the target. It should give me a nice high pitch each time the center line of the coil passes over the target and the numbers should lock or almost lock. If it won't screech for me 4 times in a row (2 passes from the left, 2 from the right), then I atribute it to falsing and move on.
@Daddydigger1 I agree! Also I double check sometimes too. Here's how I do it. When getting the high pitch over the center line .Pay attention to where the coil is when you get that sound. Now turn 90 degrees and see if the same sound comes from the same spot on the ground if there is just a null...I'm out of there! It's a nail! If there is ANY kind of repeatable signal, after turning 90 degrees, in the same spot, I'm diggin' !!
Looks like fun:)

Nice! I really like the old tags and dated doodads. They also help me determine whether or not I'll find good coins etc. in that area.
