if you ask me, what makes an incredible fsx/x-plane video is two things: first off and the more important of the two, a passion for flight and a creative mind. the second is a powerful computer system. flyboyandre has both and his passion for flim and flight comes through clear in these videos... whats sad is that neither him, nor ramasurinen will ever be able to become youtube partners because of the copyright laws on the music they use...

I couldn't care less about being a Youtube partner. What means something to me is having people enjoy my contribution to Youtube. Today there are thousands of FS clips being uploaded every day from young and old all over the world so I'm a happy camper if people find my clips entertaining.

For my name to be mentioned with Mike's (Ramasurinen) is satisfaction enough for me.

I beleive you. Ramasurinen taught me never to make videos for anybody but myself. You have to be selfish about your own art. If you try to satisfy everyone else you will never be happy on your own. What I'm saying is that it seems as if something you deserve is being taken from you... oh well. I also strive to become recognized for my passion of flight... looks like that road might be a long one for me with 6 subsribers atm :)

Cool! Where did you get the scenery with all the planes on the ground???

It's satellite imagery using Tileproxy Matt. this is how it looks on the sim. Tileproxy deactivates FSX autogen and instead loads earth tiles via satellite images. It looks really good above 2000 feet. Down on the ground it looks flat and lifeless.

VERY COOL! I just looked at the website. Does it effect FPS a lot? On your system it may not but for the average system? It's super cool. I can't wait until the day sims use real world 3D maps :)

It can actually massively increase performance as the autogen in FSX (huge performance hit) is disabled. The recommendation I have is a fast internet connection and a separate hard drive to load the Tileproxy bitmaps onto.

Ah! Good point. I use a 2nd HDD when I use FRAPS to collect the video. That seems to really improve FPS when recording :) Thanks A-Man

Make sure you read the well written tutorial on the soulforge website. It explains everything very well. It can be a little tricky the first time. You have to have a fast internet connection to run it effectively. Another thing you need to do is go into the boot options screen by hitting F8 and disable driver signatures while loading OS if you plan to use Tileproxy with Vista. Otherwise TP wont start.
