  • Very cute... You must have heard my idea though. My babies are 24 days old today and I have taken a photo at the same time every day and was going to do something very similar! Funny though I have one albino two toned (cinnamon and white) and the rest dark two toned (brown and white. You beat me to the punch. But very nice vid!

  • What song is this?

  • @RazorEdgeBullie

Actually, rats are extremely affectionate animals. They really aren't disgusting at all! They are friendly, as well as cute. I would search Google on your rat catching problem, but you should probably find out for sure if there is a rat sharing your company.

  • Disgusting creatures. Why would anyone want to keep these "things" as pets? Anyway I think I saw a rat under my front deck any ideas how to catch it? I don't want to kill it btw.

  • @RazorEdgeBullie their extremely clean, you like dogs, cats? their filthier than a domesticated rat. i hope that rat eats your toes in your sleep. :)

  • The rats r cute but the music is gay

  • thank you so much for this video! My rat just gave birth (i had no idea she was pregnant since i just got her last week)

  • Do rats fight though or do they act nice towards one another?

  • @SweexAVA nice, if you introduce them properly.

  • That song gets absolutely irritating to listen to after 30 seconds

  • They're adorable!

My female rat just had 4 babies and I didn't know she was pregnant.. Plus I got my male neutered 3-4 weeks ago.. Turns out he made it getting her knocked up just after his surgery!

Still the video is very cute!

  • Aww that mommy rat looks just like my rat Nibbles! That only differences is Nibbles is still small. Which is wired I had Nibbles a little over four months. She has not grown since the day I bought her from the pet store. =/

  • They are so sweet!

My darling Grace only had 2 that survived, but they where the most affectionate Rats I've ever had.

  • I like the song, good choice ;)

  • what do you do when they get too many?

  • what's a normal litter size and how soon til they're weaned?

  • @BobLawblaw31 i know! thats why its not hard to take you down!

  • @BobLawblaw31 my dog would kill you befour you could throgh the steak

  • @BobLawblaw31 if you lived on my street i would send my dog to kill you! THE MOM JUST GAVE BIRTH AND YOU WANT TO KILL HER AND HER BABIES WITH FIRE! you have no love man no love at all

  • this gonna b weird....but i want to breed rats or own them some time in the future. I love rats! my friend Sam's sister has two, one is a hooded rat one is a brown rat, and i love it when they climb on me.

  • wow

  • @BobLawblaw31 You vile person ! How can you say that !?! Hva eyou ever had a pet fancy rat ? I stress on the wod 'fancy' meaning they are not the wild non-domsticated rats so i clearly do not see the need why you had to post such a horrible comment !

  • if mine run away i have to pick them by the tail but it dont hurt the :D

  • this is adorable! beautiful babies. i love watching them popcorn and play with you at the end. too cute. nice song choice too

  • '

    how many babies rats

  • my rat just had babies 3 days ago.

  • they grow so quickly

  • They almost look dead for the first 3 weeks...

  • They seem to grow extremely fast.. they are so cute.

  • do they get a lot of diseases? if they get loose in your house will your house be flooded with them later on??? i want some pet rats or gerbils or hamsters..... anything small and affordable. what do you think?

  • @MaxCheesy if you get them at pet stores (petco has white rats, $2.00, and pet smart have fancy rats, $5.00 but they sell fast) they have no diseases, keep them is a tight cage and keep a close eye on them and they are sure to be kept happy and healthy. best food is festa mix (or atleast im sure thats what its called) its a mixture of corn, nuts, pumpkin seeds and many more choises, switch their water everyday and wait a week or 2 to hold them, they arent used to holding at this time good luck!!

  • mine just had 13 also!

the first time she was pregnant she only had a single baby that died the next day.

this is day 2 and they all look well..

the only thing im worried about is she likes to cover them up in the bedding between feedings. is this normal?

thanks for your help : ]

  • i love this video!!

  • Ok so my mom found a baby rat at the dump with its eyes closed the vet took it and i get it after it is bigger

  • Baby rats are so cute!!! I have 2 girls, they're sisters and before I bought the second one she had 13 babies!!! My dogs love them and play with them and my cats hate them but havnt tried to eat them lol. They know their names too :D

  • They grow up too fast ='/

  • so im guessing the father of the baby was black cuz those don't look like moma 's kids lol

  • THEY'RE SO CUTE!

  • 1:58 that beige one grew fast ;D

  • omg this song makes me cry...

  • they start to get ugly after they get long tails

  • @1t13urnz your ugly

  • that was cute

  • i've bread my mouse before and when they open their eyes i was gonna count them i had fourteen running all over the ground jumping! the mother was freaking out

  • My baby rats are just 2 days old, but they are all white except 2 out of 15. I can't wait until they will be at day 5. =D

  • @stansa232 15 wow! thats a lot

  • there so cute

  • at three days they r soooooooooooo cute! their little tailS!!!!!

  • Gaw how cute >.<

  • omg aw.

  • AWWWWWW!! and they are sooo tiny!!!

  • The beautiful miracle of life compiled in 2 minutes. I love it :D

  • well, my 2 fav rats the parents of 11 beautiful baby ratlets all drowned in their 10 gal outside because a bad storm blew over thir weather protection and flooded their cage , also that another rat chewed a big hole over their cage that contributed to their tragedy, both the mither/father and babies all died, but 2 younger females had babies from him that 1 litter was born the next day, im gonna keep a male and call it Notch Jr. like the daddy. :( sad...........

  • you shouls not touch them first 2weeks/

  • @b1eb1er You're thick, you can handle them from day one if the mother will let you. Its not wise to handle them for 24hours to let the mum have time with her babies first, but after that its fine. My doe just gave birth two days ago, I left her for the first day and started handling them at day 2 when she takes a break and stretches her legs. Do you're research before posting a comment that makes you look like such a fucking dumbass

  • @b1eb1er That's hamsters, not rats. If you touch a hamster when it's born, then it'll be an outcast and the mom won't take care of them. But with a rat, nope.

  • Thankyou so much for this. My foster rat just had kittens and its my first time so this is very educational. Mine look just like yours at 3 days so thats a good start :)

  • I'm thin king about getting rats. Are they good pets to have?

  • @alliecat523 yeah they are great, they are cleaer than cats, though if you get a male it will smell

  • @Candle3eater Thank you I got two girl rats and I love them so much!!!

    <3

  • @alliecat523

Yeah, Rats are really awesome pets. I am an animal lover, but like a lot of people, I didn't much like rats! for all the usual reasons. That is until I held the pet rat of a friend and I was very pleasently surprised by it, it was very sweet, gentle and nothing really like you would imagine them to be! Anyway, a few years later, and a month ago, I got me a couple of 8 week old babies from a private breeder (the best option) and they are totally awesome! I love them to bits

  • @smilies34 I was the same. My sister brought home a pet rat froma friends pet shop. I was iffy given their rep. But it was shockingly friendly. He knew who we were, and enjoyed being petted.

  • @alliecat523 I'm assuming that if you were thinking about them for two months, you've made your decision already. Rats are great, lovable little balls of happiness if taken care of and properly socialized. I've only had one rat that bit(and he hadn't been socialized properly. They are just as smart as cats and dogs. The only problem the the animals themselves are that mine (my girls especially) made some funky noises at night from running the wheel. But that's nothing to the joy they've brought.

  • @alliecat523 They are amazing pets to have. Very affectionate and can be trained. Hardest part is they only have a life span of a few years, so they're not a life long pet. But they are great with kids and fun to have.

  • @drkbutterflyvixy actually rats have a life span of 7-10 years of life, my rat, Max is 3 and my rat, Alice, is 1 1/2 so they live pretty long

  • @TheIssac4305 Actually no, there lifespan is 2-4 years. :c

  • @TheIssac4305 the oldest rat on record is 7.8 years, there has never been a rat in the last 200 years over that. they typically live 1-5 years, with the occasional 6-7 years,

  • My rats litter is about 16-17 days old and all of them have their eyes opened now for about a couple of days. If anybody would like one , there only for local, located around where i live.

  • when do the babies wean? and when do the males and females need to be seperated? i got 13 baby ratlets that are 10 days old...

  • 17 baby rats?!?!

wow, that's quite much. iusually they get about 8 to 12 babies

  • I adopted a pregnant rat on Feb. 17th and she had her babies on Feb. 20th - a total of 17! So far all are still healthy and happy. :] I hope they all survive.

  • do all 2 week old rats start off black and fuzzy, or is yours going to stay black, because my hairless rat is black/gray and fuzzy, 2 weeks old too, are they going to loose their hair?

  • My mom doesn't really like rats... I love them but mom says no. Maybe I can convince her to let me have some eventually.

  • 0:44

is that true how u carry them?

    won't it hurt?

  • Nope. That's how the mother carries them around. Even our rats that are almost 6 months old don't mind being carried like that. In fact, I think it reminds them of being carried by mom. They usually calm down when I pick them up like that.

  • @KawaiiGaIx

No, it doesnt hurt. Mothers carry them like that.

  • @KawaiiGaIx It's the same as their mom would carry them. And actually, she would pick them up from any part she could grab. With a lot of animals, its actually comforting to be held by the scruff. With ferrets it relaxes and calms them.

  • My female black capped rat "Whiskers" just gave birth to two babiees which i really think are twins last friday, they are just getting their fuzz, lol.

  • Theyare now fuzzier than ever, they also have their eyes fully open, and are up and walking or at least trying to,lol, im going to try to get a video of them later on today if the weather isnt too bad...

  • My girl just had babies and this vid was great in illustrating just how fast they grow! Beautiful litter with lots of variety.. <3 Adorable!

  • cute

  • aww im gonna have to get my boys a girlfriend hehe

  • rats grow fast wow

  • Do you know the song in this video?

  • :) sweet

  • that was really sweet .. thank you for posting it

  • look how cute to bad i have a boy rat he cnt have lil babys

  • well get him a girl

  • the babies rats look so beautiful

  • their so cute! :)

  • whats the point of even saying that

    fuuccccckk youoouuuuu

  • that's your opinion and you've got the opinion of keeping it to yourself which would be the wise and moral thing to do.

brb i'm going to go kill some endangered snakes

  • i hope you realize how stupid you look. total virgin

  • *option

why did you come in here and say that. i mean it's obviously not your kind of video and it's offensive to us rat owners. so like why would you do that mate

  • @opalshuman

    - because it's youtube and douches abound.

  • @eluno333 lol at the snakefag

  • @eluno333 don't be mean, look up rats and you will find out that they spend 80% of they're time cleaning themselves, that is more than us, and it is the owners fault if they smell for not cleaning them out often enough.

  • @eluno333 Dont fucking come onto a video that clearly has BABY RATS in the title and then abuse the fuck outta rat lovers. You're sick. Go grow some

  • What is the point of a python then? especially in a fucking aquarium/cage in your shitty apartment? :)

  • @eluno333 well then,

    dick head

  • @eluno333 Lol scuze me while I feed my rats some baby ball pythons. :D They're so yummy and they're the ugliest little things, pythons! Haha it's funny cause snakes are so stupid lol I love watching my rats kill em and eat em

  • they are so so cute i am after a albino rat do u have any with pink eyes 2 sell?

  • Congrats! They are gorgeous!

  • they can be separted when they are 3-4 weeks old.

  • whats the name of this song?

    lovely babies!

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, it's from Charlotte's Web. :)

  • Yeah, you're right!

  • when can they be seperated from the mother?

  • i laughed so hard. i quickly got another cage and put the dad in it. the dad and i always play together so he doesn't get lonely. and i play with the mom when i can. when she's not with the babies. but i wanna seperate the males from the females when the time comes. when exactly should i do that? on the 21st day or what?

  • If I got a male for my female rat, then do you think I could somehow make them only have 1 litter? I'd like her to have babies but not all the time!

  • yeah my rat just gave birth to 10 lively babies. they are adorable. it surprised me too. i woke up thinking i was late to work. so i got up turned on the lights and checked the clock. it was 12pm and i had to be at work at 4pm. i was wrong, but then i turned around and saw the cage. i saw a tiny pink thing in the cage and the dad laying on top of hte hut sleeping. i went to check and saw 9 more babies in the hut with the mom. it was funny to see the mom snatch the baby from outside the hut in.

  • how cute you must be so happy there all alive and not dead you must love them

  • Aw! the momma looke just like my rat Marzipan! Her sister Momo is a red eyed champagne, and a proud mom of 12 three day old babies! (she came home from the pet store pregnant unbeknownst to me, likely the father is a black hooded rat...) :P

  • awwe <3! my rats were born bout 3-4 hours ago ! i ahve a vid

  • i love this song, from the old time Charlotte's web right

  • cute!!!! i love rats and loved watching this!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You are such a moron!! I can tell you are scared shitless by little harmless baby rats. Your stupid and i mean you down there animallover151999!!!!

  • Peky,

This is just a thought, but you should probably avoid elementary grammar mistakes like "your" instead of "you're" if you're going to call other people "stupid."

    Hypocrite.

  • i'm pretty sure animallover's remark was meant for deadzilla who wrote something seriously sick.

[putting those poor babies in liquid nitrogen and feeding the mom to a snapping turtle]

seriously... who comes up with that crap? that's just f***ed up.

btw, adorable video. :) thanks for posting. soooo cute!

  • Don't hold tiny baby rats by the back of their neck please. What age did you home them at?

  • OH PARTY POOPER!

  • What do you think the mum does then??? The best age to home rats is no younger than 6 weeks.

  • We are not their mum. The mum doesn't always lift them from the neck, and it isn't on purpose. As a rodent rescue owner / worked of over 20 years I can tell you that they take any part of their body including around their stomach. We should not hold them from their necks, though. We are a heck lot stronger than the mums. And they should be split at 4.5 weeks, the boys from the girls, as they can mate then, the females can be left with the mum - but they need time to adjust to being off her milk.

  • I agree with you on the sepperation age limit. Anyway i do not see a problem with lifting them from the neck skin, i have seen my mother rats do it countless times, and if you are very gentle, it is similar to mum picking them up, i know we are not there mum, but sometimes you feel like you are. Anyway i dont want to cause a big hullaballoo.

  • I know it does feel like that, but we aren't and we are much more sore on the babies necks. Why would you even want to lift them by the neck? I hold them close and kiss them and get them used to an actual way they will/should be lefted once older.

  • Thats fair enough, i mean lifting them by the neck is convenient sometimes. I usually just pick them up anyway without using the neck skin.

  • Yes. :)

Im a rat mum too, are you?

  • Ofcourse ;)

I currently own 15 fuzzies. I breed rats for pet, and show homes.

  • haha they so pink and squishy i love it when they first open their eyes they get so excited and won't stop running around everywhere

  • normaly 14 days

  • How long did it take for them to open their eyes?
