I'm a Kanye fan. Of course, Kanye is a great artist/producer but I wouldn't go to the extreme of saying he is a musical genius. He's not necessarily doing anything new, he just brought something into hip hop that's been prevalent in every other genre of music, experimentation and fusion. I would say he's brave more than genius. & really, black folks are extremely creative and experimental within the core of our community--it's just that what is allowed to reach the masses that's bland.

I must disagree. he is no genius to music. Mozart was, Bach was, chopin, liszt, prokofiev, ligeti were an so many others. Even if he fused Strings (there's nothing such as "classical strings"), piano with the tables and the vocals, the harmony and melody are very simple (it doesn't mean it's bad).

Now, i respect what he does.
