One of the major drawbacks of Old Media in reporting news events is time. In the 1/2 hour nightly news show, time is taken for ad breaks and station promos and the news is broken down into what getst the ratings the fastest. In my area, the death of Micheal Jackson was reported on for 15 minutes,not including ad breaks, while an attack on Australian solders recieved 15 seconds and then they went to the sports reporter. A blogger can do updates on his/her subject 24/7 using various news feeds
