I'm Australian, and if you were not aware, we are also fighting alongside American troops. We are there because George Bush went in there. A war which I believe is not ours.

I wouldn't care so much if there weren't Australian troops dying in someone elses war. It happened in Vietnam, and it's happening again. So sure the surge worked but it was never needed if they didn't go in there in the first place for. The UN told the US there were no WMDs in Iraq, but that wasn't good enough, they had to go in there anyway and after they got there, Al-Qaeda began operations in the country, as they were not there previously. good going.
