bless..class dogs..but what!? I dont get the dog contest..do the judges love RR enough or are they too poor for KC?...i hate KC by the way...love looking at the RR though..but feel bad for the ones that obviously dont like it x hope their owners will have in ok for when they next enter..x
He died very gracefully; while humping a female in heat that he rightfully won over the other males. An electric line from above them snapped in a freak rainstorm and landed in the puddle they were getting it on in.
I learned a little trick with a German Shepard I used to have who had the same problem, only with tile floors. Buy some of those little rubber booties made for dogs on ice and every day put them on your dog and simply play with them on your floor for a couple weeks... then after a while just don't put their boots on and continue playing on the floor with them. Cured my German Shepard in about two weeks of sporadic training. Now she has no problem with tile floors
I have rescued two ridgebacks through the rescue league. If there are none in your area, they will transport also. Our last one came from Ohio and I am in Iowa. I met them in Illinois. It can take some time, but its worth it!
My buddy had one in a smaller house and he was very well behaved. These guys are very strong but unlike pitbulls they are very subdued. It would be cruel to have any pet in a flat (esp. dogs) but if you walk a lot it's worth asking if a breeder would be okay with your arrangement.
These hounds need to be outside. They all would get a fine workout. The ritual horseplay of the Ridgeback is a sight to see.

The ones with 4 white paws and black ears are the true ridgebacks. The large ones in this video look cool though...I miss mine back in Africa.

I'd still be trying to get mine thru the darn door...he won't walk on wood floors!

That's funny! Mine too -- he's fine in snow and ice but absolutely will not get used to wood floors!
