Dammit, Mr. McAlpin, Why must you make such a good webcomic? If you ever do make a web video series, I really would like to voice act. I'm that kid from Chicago Comic Con.
I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU
I absolutely love Multiplex. I just started reading it recently, and I'm in the early 400s :D. It's super funny, I love all the sarcasm and pranks and how Jason dissects all the movies.
I found Multiplex a few months ago, and I think its one of those comics that proves you can be entertaining without a lot of fancy art. Awesome work Gordon.
Wouldn't it be great if fans contributed to voices if/when that time comes *WINK*WINK*NUDGE*NUDGE* Since some of us have done stuff like that before *WINK*WINK*NUDGE*NUDGE*
It will be a while before I take another whack at animation. (Sorry!) I want to concentrate on the print book for the near future, because that's a year or two overdue.
But for when that happens, fans doing voices may not be practical for the main characters, for a few reasons — but if people are either Chicago-based or have good audio recording equipment to record their parts, then I'd definitely consider it for smaller roles.
it's nice, though the timing needs work (everything moves a little too slowly, probably due to too many frames being animated). as a venture, I'd say, hire someone else to animate it -- you don't have to do everything yourself, and in fact, it's probably a bad idea!
I have to admit, for something that's only 19 seconds, you go me hooked. I know it is probably a long way off but I'm pretty sure if you developed it a bit more, smooth out the animation, and cast it properly, you would have a series that could grow beyond the webcomic. Keep it coming man! ;)
What will happen when one of the best webcomics turns into flash animation... only one way to know it... DO IT!!!! DONT LOSE YOUR TIME WITH WORK OR LOVE... FLASH-IT SLAVE!!!
The animation is more than good enough to carry an animated series. And voices? Man, so long as you got actors who could do the dialogue justice, that'd be...just fantastic.
I would see more of this. Not sure if I'd buy a DVD or anything, but I would certainly be interested in some shorts; either new material or animations of old storylines.

As much as i love the comic, theres an alarmingly large amount of tweens in this trailer. I hope there isn't as many in the actual thing.

Yeah lol. I hope there aren't Twilight tweens lmao

I love this video. I think Multiplex has a huge amount of potential were it ever made into a flash animation.
One question though, why is Kurt squinting at the end there?
TheSilverAce 2 years ago
He's just making a goofy face to be obnoxious and bug Jason. (As he does.)

Oh I thought he was farting, shows my maturity.

HOLY SHIT. Ok I love the music, and seriously, whatever happens with this is CRAZY exciting.
I also support the voices idea!!!!!!!!

I support the fans-voicing-characters idea. For what it's worth.
Seriously.
And nice! This is really exciting!!

I'm in full support of whatever Gordon does. I'm worried the characters may not sound like they do in my head, though. :(

Here's hoping for a casting call.

This is going to be good. I will watch this as religiously as I read the web comic! I'll even volunteer to do voices or sound effects or whatever!

You know, your art style for the comic (one that I'm a big fan of) REALLY suits flash animation!
Seriously man, this little teaser shows the animation as being pretty fluid. I highly recommend putting some more thought into doing animated shorts.

It's more a question of when than if. So many things I want to do, so little time to do them. :(
gmcalpin 2 years ago
gahhh that looks sick, if you decide to go through with these are you thinking voices or sticking with word bubbles?

Voices. Definitely voices.

Awesome job with the animation. You may want to speed up the character movements a little bit, they look very beginner-to-flash-ish.
I've been reading the webcomic for a few weeks now, and I've got to say, this fits the mood perfectly.
