  • how do you do rolls ? I have yet seen any one do it ? good sound though

  • @orioncon Sorry, I missed your comment here unfortunately. Rolls are on the key Eb. So I just hit once for a roll

  • @Jufnefluf ,,, I need to get my kayboard out and check ,,, Eb ,, to see if it has an roll , thats the onley thing about virtual drums ,, we are going to need rolls at times , going from the snare all the wayy around to the floor tom ,, thanks for the reply ! facebook utube all seem to be dead

  • can you use these in a program like Fruity loops? or does it have to be with and MIDI keyboard, or and elecrtic kit? etc.

  • @slipknotman012345678

You can also make a midi-track and program your drumbeats with the mouse of course. Set the midi-out from that channel to Kontakt and load a kit.

  • lol keyboard blastbeats

  • wait, is this EX or Platinum?

  • @TouchtoneMars

I got Platinum. But as far as I know this kit is also included in EX

  • is this kit in the EX package? because my cracky metal kit sounds nothing like this.

  • How do you change the midi mapping in your daw when it seems the only way to pull this up is in kontakt player standalone or plugin.

  • do these need some type of edrum or can you just use the computer they're downloaded on and set the beat up without any external devices? I'm a guitarist looking to start making some songs and was hoping i didn't need a set or anything other than software, so a reply would be super, thanks.

  • well you can use a computer midi sequencer but it is a lot of work, you're better off buying a cheap usb midi keyboard.

  • @scaryfried alright Thank You very much, I'm actually looking in to getting this program and i was just wondering, i was thinkin' about getting a keyboard or edrum to go with but i wanted to make sure i could use it before i get that incase my drumming isn't quite up to par haha

  • You can also make drums quite easily with Guitar Pro, then export the midi file and load it into Steven Slate

  • sweet deal, that actually helps a lot cause i'm actually familiar with guitar pro and that'll make using everything that much easier =)

    Thanks

  • i use native kontakt which came with the slate drums and use fruity loops (free) as a work station. you just select the kit or individual sounds and draw the notes in as little dots. its really easy and slate drums will give you pro sounding drum tracks. you dont need anything external.

  • this wasn't right out of the box right? had to have been some tweaking? mine didn't sound THAT good right out of the box.

  • I just lowered the mids in the sum a bit. No further tweaking as far as I can remeber

  • @Jufnefluf holy damn this soundssss sooooo goood. i got the platinum version just dont know how to install it so it will work with fruity loops ill figure it out. but the thing that sucks is i could of gotten SSD 4V but it might not have these presets :P. You really like steven slate drums?

  • @angeriod I like Stevens samples :) Can't wait for SSD 4, because I think those will sound really realistic. The samples in 3.5 are all more samples to blend with real drums I think. They sound a bit too big and artificial on their own.

  • thats because you have to process them alot.

    ; )

  • so does the software actually sound this good?

  • yeah pretty much, little bit of tweaking and it will sound better. but out of the bok ready to go.

  • cool is the software pretty easy to set up with a drum module like the alesis dm5?

  • if it can work with my no name sams club drum kit it should work with that no problem :p

  • you will need a alesis trigger IO. plug all the trigger pads into the IO (10 channels) then plug the IO into your computer via usb/fire wire cable. you may need an audioface to avoid latency. go and check out mikeyVPT here on youtube.

  • Are you using the Kontact player with steven slate? or have you loaded them into your own sampler?

  • I used it with the Kontakt player. I just loaded a kit there and started playing.

  • Forgot to say that I changed the drum-map, so that the drums lie on the keys I want them to be. The GM map doesn't fit my playing ;)

  • Is there a way to do that? I thought that you couldn't change the mapping of the drums

  • how do u change the drums to difrent keyboard note...really need help with it tahnks ben

  • @Jufnefluf can you PLEASE tell me how to map the drums to different keys. my configuration is fucking obnoxious.

  • Yes, you can do it in your DAW, but not in the Kontakt player.

  • wow nice man.

    old zep kit ... i think !

  • can anyone find a torrent of steven slate drums? i cant. unless you are willing to share!

  • There is no torrent, because every copy is watermarked. And as soon somebody would put it up, they would know who it was.

Do it like me and buy the samples, cause they are really great. Be fast, there is a Sneap discount at the moment!

  • This is true.

  • sounds alot like the black album drumsound

  • I really don't know much about such things, but it sounds awesome to me. What a space-saving kind of drumkit! *lol* ;D
