Exactly why ARE all these things happening? As I know it's just a bunch of guro chaos in a very simplified style. No real contingent plot to speak of, especially after Koishii got removed from it all. There's just a bunch of separate plothooks as excuses to torture and kill all the denizens of Gensoukyou.

Though the Sanae episode was good, emotionally. It got to me in the good way, a good kind of disgust. Everything else is just random, random, random violence. Or am I missing something?

You know...I'm not sure how throwaway the idea of Suwako going to the Sanzu is (we'll have to see how Part 11 goes), but...somehow I just have a horrible thought about Komachi and Shikieiki's reaction to 'familiar faces' making their way down there....if neither of them went crazy too, that is.

@KryptikM3 Shikieiki Yamaxanadu is the Highest Judge of Paradise, and canonically the most powerful Touhou character in-canon and fanon. Komachi near that level. Those two will most likely be unaffected by all of this. You know, them not actually being in Gensokyo and all.

@KryptikM3 There's more than one reason that they can't be affected, Shikieiki being above everything and is the ultimate judge of all that has lived and will ever live. People like Shikieiki shouldn't be affected by Koishi's madness. In fact, many Touhous weren't driven to madness. It's as if Gensokyo is in a divided state which will probably turn out into all-out war. Which Byakuren is planning to do. And Koishi and Yukari will be in the middle of it all.

A generous interpretation might her trying to head off whatever Koishi was doing, knowing she's going to die and sparing RIn from having to see it all....but that's just me hoping Satori just didn't go plain mad like everyone else did.

@KryptikM3 (This is a guess) Satori saw what Koakuma was planning for Gensokyo. And after failing to stop her because of Patchouli's ignorance to the truth and already being under EXTREMELY HEAVY mental stress, she had an outburst, then gave up. In an act of mercy, she kills Rin to save her from suffering from whats to come.
