  • What size and type of rivets did you use to secure the sideplate and guides? Thanks..

  • @ROTORCRAFT01 Some plates vary on year of manufacture but most use 1/8". I have seen earlier plates use 5/32".

  • What is the price on a original vickers?

  • @SturlaN96 The going price I have seen lately for a C&R (original and untouched) Vickers gun is around $20K - $25K.

  • @C2builder I live in Norway where no automatic weapons are allowed. Im only 15 years old now, but when i leave my parents i can move to the US :)

  • Any chance of a minigun? ;D

  • How long for part 5?

  • @DinoPal Not too much longer, I'd like to see more views on the vids already up before I post another.

  • I recall you saying you were using the softer steel rivets in your earlier video, just was thinking while you talking about how fragile the dove tails are if a little heat would make the job that much easier as well as safer for them. But you are the builder and I am but a novice :

    -)

  • @RLhole68 Yes, but the dovetails can be damaged by simply hitting them with a hammer regardless if the rivet was heated or not.

  • Like this set so far, would heating the rivets make install any easier or by heating make them to tight a fit in the holes? Just a thought.

  • @RLhole68 Yes it does and I have done it that way for years but its not really needed if you don't want to, the steel rivets I used for this vid are really solf and spread well, yet are strong enough to hold everything in place. I would recommend heating the rivets if you use a harder steel or stainless steel rivet.

    Thanks.

  • Great videos. Thanks for posting.....Is this steel standard mild steel or 4040 or something tougher?

  • @mushroomscouser Not sure what the metal composition is and not really worth getting it analyzed at a Lab. But, it is soft enough to file by hand.

  • the only thing that would have been nice would be an arrow and letter denoting front and inside and outside, since its very easy to lose track when you are watching a video

  • how many of these will it take to finish the gun??? i am getting impatient sir.

  • @weapons4war Chill. I'll post more soon. I should be able to wrap the build up in another 3 vids.

  • Since i only had the original russian maxim and not a kit thing,

i don't understand why those kits have only right hand plates?

  • Are you looking for a apprentice??? ^_^

  • Thanks very much.

  • I may not be a gunsmith, or the most mechanically-oriented person, but this sort of thing is fascinating to me. Thank you for posting these.

  • @AnimeFanatic5602 sam here, i've built ARs and now an AK, but all this metal work is so far over my head, but its still awesome to watch

  • ur brilliant my friend

  • awesome stuff.

  • this is very good c2builer ;)
