@Taketentot Yes, but is that an excuse for printing a completely different thing on the box? I bought it mainly because it supposedly recorded in MP4. It's like buying a DVD drive that says it can do DVD-RWs and it doesn't. Would you be satisfied if you bought a television specifically because it said it had an HDMI input and it didn't? They may as well not list the video recording format at all. Incorrect specs are worse than useless.

heeey, i have this camera. i love it, EXCEPT for the fact that video quality is pretty bad, and sound quality is TERRIBLE. but it does record in MP4 but its saved or recognized as ASF or something. but 8 megapixels picture is really nice unless you blow up the picture. plus it can be use as a webcam. so- for its price *I* give it 8/10

@thesniper1191 My point is, why couldn't it just say on the box that it's an ASF file because this may affect the ability to use it with some video editors (it was a problem with mine). Not printing file format in specs is one thing, but actually printing specs that do not actually apply to the product is just plain retarded. I have seen files with extension that actually says ".mp4" instead of ".asf" so changing 3 letters on the box would not raise the price by even a nickel.

You have the same camera as me. Mine drained the batteries in 20 minutes, I put new batteries in and it doesn't even turn on.

Is it possible to load the videos from this camera up tp youtube without converting files? I'm not talking about editing. Just loading it up as is.

I'm new to this and just got the same camera. I'd love it if you could make a tutorial video of how to load these to youtube. Better yet if you could make one showing how to edit and convert everything, along with what programs to use... IThat would be incredable. Just a thought.

So it's using an mpeg4 codec, even though the file format is ASF? I don't know if it's possible with your camera or not, but I have a friend that was simply changing the file extension on the files, and this worked fine for him. I'm getting this camera soon, so I'm sure I'll run into some problems of my own.

I just got mine. Check out my videos to see how to extend the battery life. It's a pain but it will extend the battery life a lot.

It actually does use mpeg4 compression, but the files are in ASF format.

My camera came with a CD but I never bothered about it because I can transfer everything just fine without whatever software is on the CD

Do you mean flip the screen so that the actual screen is pointed straight up, and then flip it down against the camera itself? I assumed that's what you meant so I tried that and it worked! THX

if you want it to stand upright just flip the screen up and then push it down.ALthough you cant see the screen at least it stands up.
