17:30, The US must defend Israel if it is to survive. You're right because if the tables were turned, ie if the Palestinians had the military power Israel has, they would not show the same restraint (let me finish). They would annihilate every Israeli in sight. A complete extermination of Israeli Jews. This is what they believe they should do. If you want peace in the middle east you have to convince the people who live there that there is no God. Religion is the sole root of evil here!
helpful hint: serious viewers of this serious/well-sourced video should ignore troll chat below; it amounts to yt subculture (kiddie trolls) eager for virtual attention/conflict + desperate hardliners (thugs) eager to change subject fr israel's 60 year RECORD of illegal policies/abuses re: palestinians. the video is worth your time; troll/hardliner circus is not
@tessler6868 I leave the "hardline" rhetoric for blow hards like you. And as usual, your response is nothing but cheap personal attacks that do not deal with the issues I raised. If you can't engage in a civil debate, why do you bother to post to me at all?
@tessler6868 No "fact" you post has anything to do with any argument I've made. Your posts are nothing BUT insults, and you ignore every fact that is inconvenient to your little agenda.
Your comments about "burying" and accusing me of being an IDF agent, etc. are utterly pathetic and laughable, obvious attempts to change the subject rather than deal wit the issues I raise. You have not "taken apart" anything I;ve said. If this was a debate on points, you would be disqualified by mercy rules
of COURSE my posts don't have to do w/your "arguments," chained; you pull them (& irrelevant history) from ass (or google ;)
solid, indepth history of 20th century turmoil leading to present palistine-israel conflict requires more scholarship & mastery than you can google ;)
btw, "idf agent"?
idf AGENT?
dude, you're delusional. ya can't refute solid facts/arguments, so going for insanity defense? ;)
ps. idf have soldiers, not "agents"; i'd NEVER 'accuse' you of being a soldier...
@tessler6868 You insinuated I was working for the IDF several times now, and prior to that you accused me of changing my profile, being 19, being a girl, etc. etc. Talk about delusional and insane. Get a grip, man.
You haven't made a coherent argument about anything, and are utterly unable to refute ANYthing I have said.
"solid, indepth history of 20th century turmoil"
Ahh, such as that which you demonstrated about anti-Semitism in Europe? You have no such depth of knowledge, just rhetoric
@chained2it; gosh, chained... a knife to my heart :( so care to start debate again re: your YEARS studying european anti-semitism, deicide teachings, etc etc -- having NOTHING to do with israel-palestinian conflict, of course, and why you attempt to diflect from THE RECORD of israeli violations of intl law... ready when you are :)
@tessler6868 Our so-called debate was settled long ago, I rather decidedly proven you have no clue what you are talking about, and have the most simplistic and ill-informed view of history. Have a nice day
@tessler6868 -- how so? your troll buddie jizzmonger's got you/me back here after 2 months... you're the dude couldn't even keep posts to right CONTINENT, lol. so tell us again how arabs were responsible for holocaust, eh? ;)
In point of fact, contrary to the good Mr. Rees's assertions, the "Zionist project" began in the 1890s, long before WW1. He presents the impact of WW2 solely as exhausting the British Empire's ability to stop the Zionists, while ignoring the impact of 1 out of 3 Jews in the world being murdered in the previous 4 years. He presents Zionists as simply taking advantage of the British weakness when most Jews in Palestine were desperate Holocaust survivors whose lives had just been shattered
screw the "zionist project", which did NOT inolve muslims as volunteer benefactors or rescuers.
so take up with RUSSIANS -- orthodox CHRISTIANS whose 19th cent PROGROMS inspired zionists.
wft should MUSLIM ARABS pay the price (in land & lives) for WESTERN CHRISTIAN misbehavior?
after 30 years & 4 wars against pissed off arabs asking same question, hostilities have ceased between israel & arab neighbors and some peace treaties signed -- the ISRAEL became major aggressor in region.
@tessler6868 Talk about blather. The Muslims did not pay a price for the Holocaust, They payed a price for their hostility towards Jewish settlers, and for the war they began.
yes, chained, "mr. rees refers to [jewish extremists] as 'terrorists'" because blowing up the king david hotel (british hdqtrs) & killing lots of people IS a terrorist act. duh.
also, irgun -- responsible for hotel bombing & most violent of SEVERAL jewish militias/terrorist groups -- was outlawed by ben gurion and (i believe) some were imprisoned for their terrorist activities.
fyi: rees & ben gurion agree on lots/most issues, chained. being history-challenged, you wouldn't know that ;)
@tessler6868 The King David Hotel was British military HQ. That made it a legit military target, and they were given several warnings via phone but chose to ignore them. The Brits were preventing Jewish migration to Palestine, despite the Balfour Declaration, and were forcefully returning Jews to the liberated death camps, as there was nowhere else to go. They infamously took the passengers of the Exodus to Germany, of all places.
And that has little to do with what I was talking about
LOL. brits "preventing jewish migration to palestine" was justification for blowing up british headquarters at king david hotel??
sooo... jews blowing up us department of interior woulda been justified cuz us LOWERED german immigration quotas for desperate jews fleeing nazi germany?
@tessler6868 Jewish refugees after the war were desperate people. Jews were dying in the camps, and many who tried to return home (if they had homes to return to) were killed by their former neighbors. The Brits were keeping them from a chance at SURVIVAL and regaining a normal life. The made themselves targets.
Call it a terrorist act or whatever you like. That was not my point. But as usual, you avoid the point I make like the spineless dishonest little pussy you are
@tessler6868 Mr. Rees utterly ignores the impact of the Holocaust and European anti-Semitic persecution in general, as if that had nothing to do with the flood of Jews in Palestine. That is a distortion of history by any objective standard. But obviously, objectivity is not a concept you are familiar with
Mr. Rees says Arabs "resisted" in 1929, 1936, etc. What he calls "resistance" were in fact massacres. 1929 saw the massacre of the population of a centuries-old yeshiva in Hebron, ending thousands of years of Jewish life there. And 1936 saw the Arab riots where hundreds of Jews were murdered in the streets, most of whom wee fleeing Nazi persecution in Europe. This is what Mr. Rees calls "resistiance", the slaughter of refugees fleeing from genoicde
@tessler6868 Too bad so sad, for you. The Jewish refugees after 1945 did not give a shot who was being blamed. They were more interested in survival, They fled to Palestine of their own accord, and no one was able to stop them. They fled to Jewish settlements already there on Jewish owned land. The UN vote was a recognition of reality on the ground.
As for refusing immigration, most of the west wound up under German control anyway, and after the war many Jews wanted out of Europe
@tessler6868 " if you "flee" to my backyard, i gotta give it to you?"
If its your backyard, no. If they PURCHASED your backyard, then obviously YES. All of Palestine did not belong to the so-called Palestinians by ANY standard. There was no historical claim, no history of a Palestinian nation, and the land Jews settled on did not belong to any of them unless they PURCHASED it. Jews settled for exactly what the UN offered. The ARabs rejected it. Case closed
lol, chained. jews did NOT "purchase" all of palestine.
israel WANTS all of former palestine
and illegally occupies palestinian west bank.
this violates partition borders of UN181 (very resolution that CREATED modern israel), article 2 of UN charter, MULTIPLE UN resolutions, 15-1 ruling by UN world court & geneva conventions of war -- "official" findings & on record.
@tessler6868 " chained. jews did NOT "purchase" all of palestine."
I did not say it did. But the Jews living there prior to 1947 ALL lived on JEWISH-owned land. Palestinians lost land in the war the Arabs began. That happens in war, and is one reason why its a bad idea to begin one.
People like you infantilize the Palestinians as a bunch of helpless children powerless to defend themselves against an onlslaught of half-dead refugees
@jizzmonger -- LOL. from 2 months ago, kiddie troll? your yt subjculture & attention deprived homelife isn't reason enough to waste time on you, my boy. facts speak for themselves in this vid & THE RECORD re: israeli palestinian conflict -- which you know.care nothing about.
2 promises, about the "same land"? The Arabs territories were vast, All the Brits promised the Zionists was a small piece of land within Palestine. That left an area the size of Europe for the Arabs.
lol. you mean balfour declaration, chained? "british whitepaper on palestine" superceded it. brits & french promised arabs their independence for support against ottoman turks during ww1.
brits reneged on BOTH promises but allowed jews to immigrate to palestine when it was british mandate 1922-1947. brits relinquished authority over palestine (suffering terrorist attacks by jews) 1947 -- then UN took over, PARTITIONED palestine for modern state of israel.
these were areas which were most attacks, the Jews accepted the plots and were willing to accept a neighboring Arab country, the Arabs were not ready!
Do not be confused! Its Palestinian propaganda under the guise of a respectable history program.
There are so many wrong facts , I referred to one of them:
1947 United Nations divided Palestine area for 2, Jewish and Arab, Jewish area was bigger but 50% of it was desert about (Negev), the Jews agreed to partition but the Arabs opposed and that why a war, war in which partners were Egypt, the Arabs of Israel, Jordan, Syria and Iraq. During Other areas of war were taken by Jews.
@tessler6868 Rewritten history? LMAO. What you DONT know about history can fill volumes, as I, kreplach, and others have demonstrated repeatedly. You're full of false bravado (among other things) and entirely short on relevant facts
@tessler6868 No, really? Why did you bother then? Listen dude, read the discussion that's going on in here and realize: no-one is gonna convince anyone to their point. Everybody have their mind set up already. Even before they see this almost-as-good-as-discovery show.
calm down, fingers. i linked this vid on another vid, received reply (chained's blather), then saw your (months old) reply to me as well. sent you 2nd reply that yours was old comment & i shouldn't have bothered. so why make big deal of it?
btw, if others wish to correct bad info/history related to ongoing conflict, what's it to ya?
Another funny video out of the Islamic propoganda channel. While "Zionist" Jews had 6% of the land; doesn't mean that Arabs owned the rest (94%). what about the fact that more than half of the country is desert?. How much was State government land? regarding the other lies better not to mention
LOL! tell it to united nations general assembly 1947, chained. perhaps you're not familiar with UN181? that created modern state of israel? by PARTITIONING (NOT giving all of) palestine?
perhaps you've not seen 181 PARTITION MAP?
ht tp: // ww w. mideast web. org/ un partition. htm
@tessler6868 Umm, yes, I am quite familiar with UN181. You neglect to mention it was REJECTED by the Arab side. The majority of Israel today as included in UN181. Israel also gained more territory in the war begun by the invasion of 5 Arab armies. Borders shift during war, as it has in countless wars in the 20th century alone. Hardly unique. But what you fail to mention is that by far MOST of the land designated by the UN for Palestine was annexed by Egypt & Jordan, not Israel.
LOL. like hell you are "quite familiar with UN181", chained -- unless to misrepresent it.
"the arabs"/arab countries weren't parties in UN181 -- and THEY attacked israel; partition was OF PALESTINE -- and palestinians DIDN'T attack israel, but were DISPLACED by israelis.
anyhow, this is how ISRAELIS behaved after partition -- in words of israeli officials:
"like hell you are "quite familiar with UN181", chained"
Hardly worth a response.
"palestinians DIDN'T attack israel"
False. Prior to the war, there were many attacks on Jews and massacres. Hundreds were killed in the streets in 1936 alone. Guerilla warfare between Palestinians and Israelis kicked into high gear in 1947. And even during the war, many Palestinians actively fought on the Arab side. Many did not, and are israeli citizens to this day
@tessler6868 So kindly tell all the good people here who exactly was in possession of the majority of the land the UN181 designated for Palestine once the smoke had cleared in 1949. Who was in possession of the West Bank and Gaza when the war ended?
the ISSUE is -- who is in occupation/control of PALESTINIAN west bank TODAY?
let me help: ISRAEL -- in violation of multiple UN resolutions, article 2 of UN charter & 15-1 ruling by UN world court of justice (highest international court).
during 1967 war against 5 arab countries, israel seized & kept PALESTINIAN west bank.
btw, no one can nullify UN resolutions but UN. duh
UN resolutions do not carry the weight of law. Israel is a sovereign nation.
UN181 was REJECTED by the Arab side. It was never implemented, my fact-challenged friend. And when the 1948 war was over, most of the land designated for Palestine had been annexed by Jordan and Egypt, And there was no international outcry to give it to the Palestinians. WHy not?
@tessler6868 WHen I said it was not their property, I am referring to lands owned by Jews and the land which the UN designated for israel in UN181. Do try and keep up with the conversation. ok skippy?
well, chained, your argument is STILL with UN and arab countries that attacked -- NOT palestinians. it's now israelis occupying land UN181 gave to palestinians -- not other way around. btw, "arabs" can't negate a UN resolution; so once again, your comments are uninformed, irrelevant or intended to mislead ;)
The video asserts the Balfour Declaration of November 2nd 1917 as being the central agreement between the Zionists and Brittan, however its actually an "Open Announcement of a previously secret pact being the
Sykes-Picot Agreement of May16th 1916
I point this out only because it exposes another level of treachery and double dealing
Colonialism?! You think israel is being colonized by arabs? Are you having a laugh? You mean all of those settlers in the west bank are arabs? You think that israel is a victim? You think the fourth largest military in the world is being victimized by kids with rocks, do you?
not kids with rocks but shia states with 80 million people, oil money, and on the verge of aquiring nuclear weapons.
there is a reason why Israel's military is strong - if not for it, there would've been a genocide - just look at Darfur and what happens when arabs take control.
glenn, saying that arabs committed a genocide in Darfur is not racist, it is a fact. Just like the fact that Germans committed a genocide against jews is a fact. The difference is that Germans learned from their mistakes and moved on. We are still waiting for Arabs to do the same.
You did not say that arabs were committing a genocide, you said genocide is what happens when arabs get into power. That is a racist statement, because it presupposes that genocide is what happens when the "wrong race" gets into power. If you don't understand why that is racist, just substitute some words, try this on for size, "gaza is what happens when jews take control", "the holocaust is what happens when white people take control", "rwanda is what happens when africans take control."
you know what, you might be right. It does generalize an ethnicity (but not a race). I didn't mean to imply that an arab control automatically results in a genocide.
I should have said that there are precedents of genocidal behavior when arabs' control is challanged. And it is plausable, from the statements made by arabs, that the same thing that happend in Darfur will happen in Israel if Arabs take control.
Well, how admirable of you to say. I hope that you will reflect on that further, and try to understand that arabs are not really that different from you. I don't blame you for thinking that arabs would try to kill the jews if they took control of israel, it is a widely held belief. I don't at all agree with it, but it does seem plausible, given the bitter nature of the conflict.
I never thought that there was an inherent difference between us and arabs or anyone else for that matter. However, there are very important cultural differences. The fact that arab state media/education system has been feeding hate to countless generations of arabs is undeniable. The result of this brainwashing is very powerful. The lack of democracy in the region (unprecedented in the world) is also important. All of that breeds hate and extremism.
Arabs want the same things you want, culture or no culture. Their culture is not inerently hateful or intolerant, there is a lot of nationalism and hate being stirred up on both sides because there's a war going on and that's what people do during wars. You know the same thing is happening in israel, people are taught from birth that arabs are their implacable enemies, that they are bad people, that they teach their kids to hate, etc.
I didn't say it was inherently hateful or intolerant. If they change their ways, I am sure they have the capacity to be tolerant. But at present, it is intolerant and oppresive.
ANd it is NOT the same as in Israel. I am from Eastern Europe (originally) and I worked in Israel for a while. There is a lot of private talk and strong biases on TV but NOTHING even remotely comparable to the outright hate produced by arab education/TV.
Really? It seems to me that israeli society has become increasingly right wing, authoritarian and anti-arab. Arab israelis are openly spoken of as the "demographic problem" in polite society, Avigdor Lieberman openly proposed forcing arabs to take a loyalty oath or be deported. Can you imagine a politician proposing to force african americans to sign an oath that america is a "white country" or be immediately kicked out, and then being elected to office? So no, we cannot give israel a pass.
i would compare Israel to European countries vs. the US. It is closer to them in spirit. And yes, there is Avigdor Lieberman but then there are right wing policians in Europe that say similar things about second-generation arabs/africans and people are more racist (just go to a soccer match). It's just a different culture.
What is happening there is that all the doves (Rabin/Barak supporters) have become disillusioned with peace after Arafat walked away from it and Hamas came to power
Yes, but we're not talking about europe or america, we're talking about israel, (the fourth largest military in the world) and the people it is dispossessing, a group of refugees. But if you really want to compare israel to america, then you have to compare the palestinians to the native americans -- it's exactly the same situation! But I will give israel this, it does at least have people opposed to dispossessing the arabs, there was no one like that in america during the early days.
Palestinians refugee issue is a self-imposed problems by arabs. In 1948, there were millions of refugees: Germans out East Prussia, Poles out eastern Poland, India and Pakistan swapped millions of refugees, etc. Yet, all other regions resettled refugees so you don't have a problem today. Arabs refused to grant arab refugees citizenship, kept them in ghettos, and denied them basic rights. So, 60 years later you have a major refugee issue.
So because the zionists expelled palestinians from their homes now the arab countries are responsible for not giving them citizenship? If I come and steal your car, and your family does not help you, are you going to prosecute them for that, while I'm driving around in your car? My guess is you'll get mad at them, but you'll press charges against me.
well both were expelled from their homes and both lived on their own terms. just as there were over 500,000 palestinian refugees, there were 500,000 jewish refugees from middle east, whose land and property was stolen from them. Yet you don't have a jewish refugee problem for hte same reason you don't have a polish or german refugee problem - they were resettled.
That may be true, but it does not excuse israel for expelling them in the first place or for denying them the right to return, and of course the expulsion of arabs from israel was not some "land swap", and it was not justified by what other arab countries did. If jews in israel ever demand the right to return to the arab countries, then they should have that right, just like palestinians should have the right to return to their lands and homes in israel.
so lets return germans to kalingrad, romanians to moldova, poles to belorussia, hindu to pakistan and muslims to india. why stop there? lets return all europeans from US back to europe and eventually everyone back to Africa. Fair?
I never said anything about returning anyone anywhere, except of course for the palestinians who are carrying around keys to houses they aren't allowed to enter. I am not alone in that, the UN has been demanding it since 1948.
of course you didn't - i am just pointing out the absurdity of your arguement. why should palestinians have the right to return and no one else who lost their land at the same time? Just because they carry keys around their necks?
hypothetically, they have the right. in practice, no country in the world is giving them that right. so it is a mute point. Practically, speaking there was a de facto migration of populations. Israel dealt humanly with refugees but granting them rights and arabs treated them like animals by denying them the right to work and forcing them to live in camps.
Are you joking? You're saying that israel, in allowing palestinians to work for them as second class (or no class) citizens was being humane? Would you like to make the same claim about south africa, that they were humane to put africans in bantustans, like what israel is moving palestinians into today, and letting them ride buses to work as unskilled laborers in white south africa, like israel used to allow with palestinians?
You misunderstood me. I said that Israel dealt humanly with its refugees. 500,000 Jews who lived in the middle east for over 1,000 years had their land stolen, their property confiscated, and forced to flee. Israel gave them rights, allowed them to gain education and provided them with jobs. SO now you don't have a jewish refugee issue.
Arabs, on the other hand, kep palestinian refugees in ghettos, refused them work, healthcare, and education.. so now you have a huge refugee problem.
Native American example is very flawed. Israeli arabs have representation and citizenship, something denied to them by virtually all arab states. There is discrimination and inequality in spending on healthcare/education, so in that sense they are closer to african-americans in the US. But, if you consider the state of war for 60 years, they are better treated then one might expect. Remember what happened to japanese in US or Germans in Russia during WWII.
Israeli arabs do not have the same rights as jews in israel, and you would never stand for them having the same rights, because that would make the whole "jewish state" idea rather pointless. So don't tell me there is equality while arab israelis are living in a "jewish state" and having their homes demolished, being shot at non violent protests, and having their passports revoked for no reason when they leave israel while jews in new york and paris are being paid to move into their homes.
jewish state concept is not materially different from islamic states or catholic states, etc. this is not unique in any way. Families of terrorists getting their homes demolished. The rest of what you described happens everywhere else. There is discrimination because of people's biases and because of political will of certain groups. But the system itself is not any more biased than other majority states.
No one supports islamic states, so why should we support jewish states? You know very well that the very idea of a state based on religion, or supposed race, can never be nondiscriminatory. We could never turn the US into a christian or a white state without discriminating, it just doesn't make sense, and it's quite plain and obvious that it doesn't make sense.
what do you mean no one supports islamic states? Pakistan Iran Malsyia... there are over 20 islamic republics/kingdoms out there. There are lutheran states (like denmark), eastern orthodox states like georgia and armenia, etc.
None of them, including israel, exclude other faiths but they do all state that there is a dominant/official religion with certain rules/laws.
Denmark is not a theocracy or an ethnocracy, and most of those other states aren't either. Some of the arab states are theocracies, some are straight up dictatorships posing as theocracies, but israel is the "state of the jewish people, wherever they may live". That is an ethnocracy, or at the very least, a theocracy, which discriminates de facto against people born within it's borders who are not jewish.
look up definition of theocracy and see how it does not apply to israel. Israel does have a state religion but that is common in the world - over 30 countries have that.
The fact that israel grants jews citizenship is also not unique. For example, Germany grants citizenship to Russian Germans (who left germany in the 17th century). Japan grants citizenship to japanese descendants in SOuth America. So now German/Japan are now racist theocracies?
Oh, and one more thing, it is a myth that arafat walked out on peace. They did not give arafat anything he could possibly accept, the palestinians have been compromising and compromising and compromising, and they can't compromise any more. They can't take 90% of 70% of 45% of a country that belongs to them, with no sovereignty or self determination, it won't happen! The truth is, there was a possibility for peace, but the talks were abruptly ended by the israeli prime minister, not arafat.
It is not a myth. People inside the Clinton administration confirm. Arafat insisted on the right of return, which by definition is a deal killer (cannot resettle 2 million people in a tiny state) and refused to accept a hefty monetary compensation in return. No one even remotely serious about a peace deal would make that a condition. Arafat had a great self-preservation instinct and he knew he would be assasinated if he accepted a peace deal on any terms.
regarding sovereignty and self-determination. Pals have to be realistic and realize that they launched a war (in '48) that they lost. A realistic negotiating position would be self-determination first and earning of sovereignity by stopping terror attacks and demonstarting to the world non-violence (first time in 60 years). If palestinians were to reject terror and turn to non-violent methods, they would achieve infinitely more (would get my vote for whatever its worth)
They did not launch the war of 1948, the zionist militias did, they ethnically cleansed the palestinians, who were almost completely unarmed and absolutely helpless in the face of the massive violence and terrorism of the irgun and the stern gang and others.
that is a very one-sided view. just as palestinians were ethnically cleansed, so were the jews. Riots, violence and explusions happend on both sides - something typical of many post-1948 conflicts.
However, wars were started by states. And many arab states from Iraq to Egypt to Lebanon, who had no direct stake in palestine/israel, launched an attack to destroy Israel. It is impossible to describe as anything but aggression.
That's not what the israeli historians think, and it doesn't make much sense when you realize that almost all of the battles occurred on land designated for the palestinian state by the UN! If the arabs wanted to drive the jews into the sea, how come they only engaged them in a weak attempt to protect palestinian villages? Why did they send a few volunteer forces, who were totally outmatched by the zionist militias, if this was some "war of extermination"?
i never was able to find a consensus of israeli historians on it. where is it?
jews were better organized because they faced a genocide and prepared better than invading armies of arabs. So this is why most of the battles took place on the borders and into palestinian territory. Arabs tried to drive jews into the sea but failed.
Not true about "few volunteer forces" - Jordanian Arab Legion was professional, Egypt put 40,000 soldiers in by 1948.
The israeli historians all agree that the zionist militias "prepared" for the arab invasion by launching a campaign of ethnic cleansing five months in advance! It was only this "preparation" and nothing else, that caused the arab armies to invade, if you could even call it that, because like I said, almost all of the action was on land designated for a palestinian state (which has yet to exist) by the UN.
i am sure that some historians claim that. and some claim that holocaust never happened. but most acknoledge the fact that cleansing happened on both sides and militias were formed on both sides. The preparation was there for the defense of jewish civilians and for an eventual state. Arabs made statements that there will be an attack on jews if they were to declare independence. So it was not a secret.
Thank Ady and thank John. The US gov and western gov are showing their utmost hypocrisy for many decades in the treatment other fellow human being. They are in self denying of what are correct actions to take, even when the whole world know their crime in unperturbed supporting the terrorism state of Israel. Their action has breed terrorist acts across the world when extremist copy Israel terrorist method and apply it to the western interest globally. No for hypocrisy, raise our voice
This is the biggest load of bullishit an biased propanganda. He forgot to mention that everyone of those wars was started by arab attacks. Also there were jews living in Israel for 3000 years before the religion of Islam even was created. Do your own researchk, dont belived this biased shit.
you dont invade and enslave a nation and expect it to stand by and do nothing. The truth is that the muslim nation had protected and safegarded the Jewish community for more than 1300 years and the zionists repaid us with the countless masscares of which the latest in Gaza was visible 4 all to see. the cliphate state is on its way back and justice will be served.
lol man are you uneducated in truth, jews invaded palestine shortly after ww1 based on Zionist teachings of Hertzel, DAH? dah! Palestine came under English rule and the league of nations of which the US was not a participant. the occupants of palestine were mostly semetic bedouin. with the fall of the ottomans palestine falls under the british mandate of palestine. those peoples were there waaaayyy before the Jewish Immigration Jews dispresed in 70Ad temple fall, Gods will? Good Jews know truth.
no no no look on the top right of the screen what does it say? Ha! this is what the want you to belive, but there is a lot of things they do not show you. look in the encyclopediat for the real COMPLITE story
Excellent and lucidly clear presentation of the actual history of this conflict. 5 stars. The Zionist Israeli government is the gendarme of US imperial interests in the Middle East. It is the rabid attack dog for US oil companies in this region. Armed and financed by the US with access to all its latest hi-tech military toys. The Israeli government is up to its neck in war crimes and atrocities which it learned from the Nazis and the Stalinists.
And in 48 the Arabs were far superior in military might with a total of five countries attacking the newly formed Israeli state. The reality was that the reason they lost the war was internal bickering and disorganisation.
Israel isn't innocent. But neither are the Palestinians. Sorry, but there are what you call two sides to every coin. It is blinkered views like this, that destroy any hope for an end to the conflict. Shame on you.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
haha this is the biggest load of biased croc i have ever heard. The Palestinians "resisted! in 1921, 22 and 29. Then the Israeli terror groups killed all the poor Palestinians. Or how about your ridiculous description of the 48 war. "The far superior armed Israeli militia against the poor unarmed Palestinians.
Well actually when you say resisted I think you mean the massacres like the Gush Etzion Massacre where they killed 100+ people.
Spread the word Why just google Tom Heneghan and read his most recent reports
Everyone scream and get to NYC by the millions now.
To hell with the police states elsewhere, converge here and in West Palm Beach and for many surround Israel by the billion at least.
Louis Farrakan is an inspiration to me with his million man march, now lets see a billion Muslims Hand in Hand surrounding Isreal praying and screaming BayPoint School and its Direct connection to AIPAC
Don't forget the Anglo-American Oil interests who required a British controlled beach head in the region to control mesopotamian, persian and arab oil resources. The Zionists merely piggybacked big oils geo-political power grab.
We need the support of all Palestinians against the dictatorship in Iran... They use Palestinians and gazaoui to beat our people in the name of money and power. We need all people in Gaza and Palestine to get around for support Iranian protestors in Iran and around the world
fair point, but he had to do the whole thing in 18 minutes. He also failed to mention how Israel has failed to provide a secure homeland for Jewish people, or the "racial" hierarchy created by Zionism.
Israel was created by western imperialism, US fundementalists are relative new comers. British Protestant restorationism provided the ideological foundation for British intervention in the Middle East.
Wonderful (pretty non-bias) means of explaining the roots of the conflict.

He presents Zionists as simply taking advantage of the British weakness when most Jews in Palestine were desperate Holocaust survivors whose lives had just been shattered
chained2it 2 years ago
screw the "zionist project", which did NOT inolve muslims as volunteer benefactors or rescuers.
so take up with RUSSIANS -- orthodox CHRISTIANS whose 19th cent PROGROMS inspired zionists.
wft should MUSLIM ARABS pay the price (in land & lives) for WESTERN CHRISTIAN misbehavior?
after 30 years & 4 wars against pissed off arabs asking same question, hostilities have ceased between israel & arab neighbors and some peace treaties signed -- the ISRAEL became major aggressor in region.
tessler6868 2 years ago
@tessler6868 Talk about blather. The Muslims did not pay a price for the Holocaust, They payed a price for their hostility towards Jewish settlers, and for the war they began.
chained2it 2 years ago
But when Jews organized their own militias and began to fight back, Mr. Rees refers to them as "terrorists"
chained2it 2 years ago
yes, chained, "mr. rees refers to [jewish extremists] as 'terrorists'" because blowing up the king david hotel (british hdqtrs) & killing lots of people IS a terrorist act. duh.
also, irgun -- responsible for hotel bombing & most violent of SEVERAL jewish militias/terrorist groups -- was outlawed by ben gurion and (i believe) some were imprisoned for their terrorist activities.
fyi: rees & ben gurion agree on lots/most issues, chained. being history-challenged, you wouldn't know that ;)
tessler6868 2 years ago
@tessler6868 The King David Hotel was British military HQ. That made it a legit military target, and they were given several warnings via phone but chose to ignore them. The Brits were preventing Jewish migration to Palestine, despite the Balfour Declaration, and were forcefully returning Jews to the liberated death camps, as there was nowhere else to go. They infamously took the passengers of the Exodus to Germany, of all places.
And that has little to do with what I was talking about
chained2it 2 years ago
LOL. brits "preventing jewish migration to palestine" was justification for blowing up british headquarters at king david hotel??
sooo... jews blowing up us department of interior woulda been justified cuz us LOWERED german immigration quotas for desperate jews fleeing nazi germany?
nope. terrorists acts. in both cases.
tessler6868 2 years ago
@tessler6868 Jewish refugees after the war were desperate people. Jews were dying in the camps, and many who tried to return home (if they had homes to return to) were killed by their former neighbors. The Brits were keeping them from a chance at SURVIVAL and regaining a normal life. The made themselves targets.
Call it a terrorist act or whatever you like. That was not my point. But as usual, you avoid the point I make like the spineless dishonest little pussy you are
chained2it 2 years ago
@tessler6868 Mr. Rees utterly ignores the impact of the Holocaust and European anti-Semitic persecution in general, as if that had nothing to do with the flood of Jews in Palestine. That is a distortion of history by any objective standard. But obviously, objectivity is not a concept you are familiar with
chained2it 2 years ago
Rees calls "resistiance", the slaughter of refugees fleeing from genoicde
chained2it 2 years ago
to bad, so sad, blame hitler & christian west that didn't give a damn about jews & refused them immigration during same desperate period.
tessler6868 2 years ago
@tessler6868 Too bad so sad, for you. The Jewish refugees after 1945 did not give a shot who was being blamed. They were more interested in survival, They fled to Palestine of their own accord, and no one was able to stop them. They fled to Jewish settlements already there on Jewish owned land. The UN vote was a recognition of reality on the ground.
As for refusing immigration, most of the west wound up under German control anyway, and after the war many Jews wanted out of Europe
chained2it 2 years ago
sooo, chained... if you "flee" to my backyard, i gotta give it to you?
apparently, israel doesn't wanna settle for HALF backyard she was given, but wants it ALL -- cuz somebody ELSE was mean to her/jews...
sheer lunacy.
tessler6868 2 years ago
@tessler6868 " if you "flee" to my backyard, i gotta give it to you?"
If its your backyard, no. If they PURCHASED your backyard, then obviously YES. All of Palestine did not belong to the so-called Palestinians by ANY standard. There was no historical claim, no history of a Palestinian nation, and the land Jews settled on did not belong to any of them unless they PURCHASED it. Jews settled for exactly what the UN offered. The ARabs rejected it. Case closed
chained2it 2 years ago
lol, chained. jews did NOT "purchase" all of palestine.
israel WANTS all of former palestine
and illegally occupies palestinian west bank.
this violates partition borders of UN181 (very resolution that CREATED modern israel), article 2 of UN charter, MULTIPLE UN resolutions, 15-1 ruling by UN world court & geneva conventions of war -- "official" findings & on record.
tessler6868 2 years ago
@tessler6868 " chained. jews did NOT "purchase" all of palestine."
I did not say it did. But the Jews living there prior to 1947 ALL lived on JEWISH-owned land. Palestinians lost land in the war the Arabs began. That happens in war, and is one reason why its a bad idea to begin one.
People like you infantilize the Palestinians as a bunch of helpless children powerless to defend themselves against an onlslaught of half-dead refugees

1933 was the year Hitler came to power. I'm sure that's just a coincidence, as Mr. Rees would make it seem there was no connection between these facts
chained2it 2 years ago
LOL, chained. why should ARABS be expected to provide refuge for jews when western powers wouldn't?
tessler6868 2 years ago
@tessler6868 Arab did not "provide" a damned thing. Jewish settlements were not on Arab-owned land. Arabs did not give them a thing
chained2it 2 years ago
2 promises, about the "same land"? The Arabs territories were vast, All the Brits promised the Zionists was a small piece of land within Palestine. That left an area the size of Europe for the Arabs.
chained2it 2 years ago
lol. you mean balfour declaration, chained? "british whitepaper on palestine" superceded it. brits & french promised arabs their independence for support against ottoman turks during ww1.
brits reneged on BOTH promises but allowed jews to immigrate to palestine when it was british mandate 1922-1947. brits relinquished authority over palestine (suffering terrorist attacks by jews) 1947 -- then UN took over, PARTITIONED palestine for modern state of israel.
yep, 2 promises; same land ;)

@tessler6868 Umm, yes, I am quite familiar with UN181. You neglect to mention it was REJECTED by the Arab side. The majority of Israel today as included in UN181. Israel also gained more territory in the war begun by the invasion of 5 Arab armies. Borders shift during war, as it has in countless wars in the 20th century alone. Hardly unique. But what you fail to mention is that by far MOST of the land designated by the UN for Palestine was annexed by Egypt & Jordan, not Israel.
chained2it 2 years ago
LOL. like hell you are "quite familiar with UN181", chained -- unless to misrepresent it.

Hardly worth a response.
"palestinians DIDN'T attack israel"
False. Prior to the war, there were many attacks on Jews and massacres. Hundreds were killed in the streets in 1936 alone. Guerilla warfare between Palestinians and Israelis kicked into high gear in 1947. And even during the war, many Palestinians actively fought on the Arab side. Many did not, and are israeli citizens to this day
chained2it 2 years ago
@tessler6868 So kindly tell all the good people here who exactly was in possession of the majority of the land the UN181 designated for Palestine once the smoke had cleared in 1949. Who was in possession of the West Bank and Gaza when the war ended?

tessler6868 2 years ago
@tessler6868
" no one can nullify UN resolutions but UN. duh"
WHy not?
The West Bank was JORDANIAN land in 1967

Colonialism?! You think israel is being colonized by arabs? Are you having a laugh? You mean all of those settlers in the west bank are arabs? You think that israel is a victim? You think the fourth largest military in the world is being victimized by kids with rocks, do you?
n8glenn 2 years ago
not kids with rocks but shia states with 80 million people, oil money, and on the verge of aquiring nuclear weapons.
there is a reason why Israel's military is strong - if not for it, there would've been a genocide - just look at Darfur and what happens when arabs take control.
mrkv39 2 years ago
That is an anti-arab racist comment. You are a racist.
n8glenn 2 years ago
glenn, saying that arabs committed a genocide in Darfur is not racist, it is a fact. Just like the fact that Germans committed a genocide against jews is a fact. The difference is that Germans learned from their mistakes and moved on. We are still waiting for Arabs to do the same.
markv39 2 years ago
You did not say that arabs were committing a genocide, you said genocide is what happens when arabs get into power. That is a racist statement, because it presupposes that genocide is what happens when the "wrong race" gets into power. If you don't understand why that is racist, just substitute some words, try this on for size, "gaza is what happens when jews take control", "the holocaust is what happens when white people take control", "rwanda is what happens when africans take control."
n8glenn 2 years ago
you know what, you might be right. It does generalize an ethnicity (but not a race). I didn't mean to imply that an arab control automatically results in a genocide.
I should have said that there are precedents of genocidal behavior when arabs' control is challanged. And it is plausable, from the statements made by arabs, that the same thing that happend in Darfur will happen in Israel if Arabs take control.
markv39 2 years ago
Well, how admirable of you to say. I hope that you will reflect on that further, and try to understand that arabs are not really that different from you. I don't blame you for thinking that arabs would try to kill the jews if they took control of israel, it is a widely held belief. I don't at all agree with it, but it does seem plausible, given the bitter nature of the conflict.
n8glenn 2 years ago
I never thought that there was an inherent difference between us and arabs or anyone else for that matter. However, there are very important cultural differences. The fact that arab state media/education system has been feeding hate to countless generations of arabs is undeniable. The result of this brainwashing is very powerful. The lack of democracy in the region (unprecedented in the world) is also important. All of that breeds hate and extremism.
markv39 2 years ago
Arabs want the same things you want, culture or no culture. Their culture is not inerently hateful or intolerant, there is a lot of nationalism and hate being stirred up on both sides because there's a war going on and that's what people do during wars. You know the same thing is happening in israel, people are taught from birth that arabs are their implacable enemies, that they are bad people, that they teach their kids to hate, etc.
n8glenn 2 years ago
I didn't say it was inherently hateful or intolerant. If they change their ways, I am sure they have the capacity to be tolerant. But at present, it is intolerant and oppresive.
ANd it is NOT the same as in Israel. I am from Eastern Europe (originally) and I worked in Israel for a while. There is a lot of private talk and strong biases on TV but NOTHING even remotely comparable to the outright hate produced by arab education/TV.
markv39 2 years ago
So no, we cannot give israel a pass.
n8glenn 2 years ago
i would compare Israel to European countries vs. the US. It is closer to them in spirit. And yes, there is Avigdor Lieberman but then there are right wing policians in Europe that say similar things about second-generation arabs/africans and people are more racist (just go to a soccer match). It's just a different culture.
What is happening there is that all the doves (Rabin/Barak supporters) have become disillusioned with peace after Arafat walked away from it and Hamas came to power
markv39 2 years ago
Yes, but we're not talking about europe or america, we're talking about israel, (the fourth largest military in the world) and the people it is dispossessing, a group of refugees. But if you really want to compare israel to america, then you have to compare the palestinians to the native americans -- it's exactly the same situation! But I will give israel this, it does at least have people opposed to dispossessing the arabs, there was no one like that in america during the early days.
n8glenn 2 years ago
Palestinians refugee issue is a self-imposed problems by arabs. In 1948, there were millions of refugees: Germans out East Prussia, Poles out eastern Poland, India and Pakistan swapped millions of refugees, etc. Yet, all other regions resettled refugees so you don't have a problem today. Arabs refused to grant arab refugees citizenship, kept them in ghettos, and denied them basic rights. So, 60 years later you have a major refugee issue.
markv39 2 years ago
So because the zionists expelled palestinians from their homes now the arab countries are responsible for not giving them citizenship? If I come and steal your car, and your family does not help you, are you going to prosecute them for that, while I'm driving around in your car? My guess is you'll get mad at them, but you'll press charges against me.
n8glenn 2 years ago
well both were expelled from their homes and both lived on their own terms. just as there were over 500,000 palestinian refugees, there were 500,000 jewish refugees from middle east, whose land and property was stolen from them. Yet you don't have a jewish refugee problem for hte same reason you don't have a polish or german refugee problem - they were resettled.
markv39 2 years ago
That may be true, but it does not excuse israel for expelling them in the first place or for denying them the right to return, and of course the expulsion of arabs from israel was not some "land swap", and it was not justified by what other arab countries did. If jews in israel ever demand the right to return to the arab countries, then they should have that right, just like palestinians should have the right to return to their lands and homes in israel.
n8glenn 2 years ago
so lets return germans to kalingrad, romanians to moldova, poles to belorussia, hindu to pakistan and muslims to india. why stop there? lets return all europeans from US back to europe and eventually everyone back to Africa. Fair?
markv39 2 years ago
I never said anything about returning anyone anywhere, except of course for the palestinians who are carrying around keys to houses they aren't allowed to enter. I am not alone in that, the UN has been demanding it since 1948.
n8glenn 2 years ago
of course you didn't - i am just pointing out the absurdity of your arguement. why should palestinians have the right to return and no one else who lost their land at the same time? Just because they carry keys around their necks?
markv39 2 years ago
I told you that if any jews ever want to go back to arab countries they have that right, and all refugees have that right, not just palestinians.
n8glenn 2 years ago
hypothetically, they have the right. in practice, no country in the world is giving them that right. so it is a mute point.

Arabs, on the other hand, kep palestinian refugees in ghettos, refused them work, healthcare, and education.. so now you have a huge refugee problem.
markv39 2 years ago
Native American example is very flawed. Israeli arabs have representation and citizenship, something denied to them by virtually all arab states. There is discrimination and inequality in spending on healthcare/education, so in that sense they are closer to african-americans in the US. But, if you consider the state of war for 60 years, they are better treated then one might expect. Remember what happened to japanese in US or Germans in Russia during WWII.
markv39 2 years ago
Israeli arabs do not have the same rights as jews in israel, and you would never stand for them having the same rights, because that would make the whole "jewish state" idea rather pointless. So don't tell me there is equality while arab israelis are living in a "jewish state" and having their homes demolished, being shot at non violent protests, and having their passports revoked for no reason when they leave israel while jews in new york and paris are being paid to move into their homes.
n8glenn 2 years ago
jewish state concept is not materially different from islamic states or catholic states, etc. this is not unique in any way. Families of terrorists getting their homes demolished. The rest of what you described happens everywhere else. There is discrimination because of people's biases and because of political will of certain groups. But the system itself is not any more biased than other majority states.
markv39 2 years ago
No one supports islamic states, so why should we support jewish states? You know very well that the very idea of a state based on religion, or supposed race, can never be nondiscriminatory. We could never turn the US into a christian or a white state without discriminating, it just doesn't make sense, and it's quite plain and obvious that it doesn't make sense.
n8glenn 2 years ago
what do you mean no one supports islamic states? Pakistan Iran Malsyia... there are over 20 islamic republics/kingdoms out there. There are lutheran states (like denmark), eastern orthodox states like georgia and armenia, etc.
None of them, including israel, exclude other faiths but they do all state that there is a dominant/official religion with certain rules/laws.
markv39 2 years ago
one correction on state religions. Saudi Arabia DOES ban all other faiths.
markv39 2 years ago
Denmark is not a theocracy or an ethnocracy, and most of those other states aren't either. Some of the arab states are theocracies, some are straight up dictatorships posing as theocracies, but israel is the "state of the jewish people, wherever they may live". That is an ethnocracy, or at the very least, a theocracy, which discriminates de facto against people born within it's borders who are not jewish.
n8glenn 2 years ago
look up definition of theocracy and see how it does not apply to israel.

The truth is, there was a possibility for peace, but the talks were abruptly ended by the israeli prime minister, not arafat.
n8glenn 2 years ago
It is not a myth. People inside the Clinton administration confirm. Arafat insisted on the right of return, which by definition is a deal killer (cannot resettle 2 million people in a tiny state) and refused to accept a hefty monetary compensation in return. No one even remotely serious about a peace deal would make that a condition. Arafat had a great self-preservation instinct and he knew he would be assasinated if he accepted a peace deal on any terms.
markv39 2 years ago
regarding sovereignty and self-determination. Pals have to be realistic and realize that they launched a war (in '48) that they lost. A realistic negotiating position would be self-determination first and earning of sovereignity by stopping terror attacks and demonstarting to the world non-violence (first time in 60 years). If palestinians were to reject terror and turn to non-violent methods, they would achieve infinitely more (would get my vote for whatever its worth)
markv39 2 years ago
They did not launch the war of 1948, the zionist militias did, they ethnically cleansed the palestinians, who were almost completely unarmed and absolutely helpless in the face of the massive violence and terrorism of the irgun and the stern gang and others.
n8glenn 2 years ago
that is a very one-sided view. just as palestinians were ethnically cleansed, so were the jews. Riots, violence and explusions happend on both sides - something typical of many post-1948 conflicts.
However, wars were started by states. And many arab states from Iraq to Egypt to Lebanon, who had no direct stake in palestine/israel, launched an attack to destroy Israel. It is impossible to describe as anything but aggression.
markv39 2 years ago
That's not what the israeli historians think, and it doesn't make much sense when you realize that almost all of the battles occurred on land designated for the palestinian state by the UN! If the arabs wanted to drive the jews into the sea, how come they only engaged them in a weak attempt to protect palestinian villages? Why did they send a few volunteer forces, who were totally outmatched by the zionist militias, if this was some "war of extermination"?
n8glenn 2 years ago
i never was able to find a consensus of israeli historians on it. where is it?
jews were better organized because they faced a genocide and prepared better than invading armies of arabs. So this is why most of the battles took place on the borders and into palestinian territory. Arabs tried to drive jews into the sea but failed.
Not true about "few volunteer forces" - Jordanian Arab Legion was professional, Egypt put 40,000 soldiers in by 1948.
markv39 2 years ago
The israeli historians all agree that the zionist militias "prepared" for the arab invasion by launching a campaign of ethnic cleansing five months in advance! It was only this "preparation" and nothing else, that caused the arab armies to invade, if you could even call it that, because like I said, almost all of the action was on land designated for a palestinian state (which has yet to exist) by the UN.
n8glenn 2 years ago
i am sure that some historians claim that. and some claim that holocaust never happened. but most acknoledge the fact that cleansing happened on both sides and militias were formed on both sides.

No for hypocrisy, raise our voice

you dont invade and enslave a nation and expect it to stand by and do nothing.

Excellent and lucidly clear presentation of the actual history of this conflict. 5 stars. The Zionist Israeli government is the gendarme of US imperial interests in the Middle East. It is the rabid attack dog for US oil companies in this region. Armed and financed by the US with access to all its latest hi-tech military toys. The Israeli government is up to its neck in war crimes and atrocities which it learned from the Nazis and the Stalinists.

And attempting to portray Israel as a colonial power suppressing the "black man", well don't even get me started on that bull.

Shame on you.

haha this is the biggest load of biased croc i have ever heard.
