Thanks for the video. The speed achieved on a roller is a bit misleading, though. It is the speed of the point at the wheel's summit and is not to compare with speeds achieved on road, even behind a pace car.
I believe he did a lot of tea-bagging to prepare for this record.
At least that is what I've heard.

With an even bigger gear (and possibly a disc front wheel if spoke wind resistance is becoming a problem) you could set an even higher record.
