  • Can you get around without knowing a lick of Arabic? My buddy and I are looking to do a sporadic trip somewhere, possibly Cairo. English friendly?

  • @xGibsonx yeah english friendly but if you like the beach, sea and the pool DONT go there.

believe me, just go there for one day for seeing the pyramids and turn back to a place in egypt where is a beach like hurdaga. cause egypt without a beach issss nooooot egypppt haha.

and btw cairo gets boring after 3 days.

but im talking to own opinion...maybe you dont like the beach at all, and you'd rather go to a nightclub or something... than cairo is the place 2 be.:P

  • Before I go there I'm learning "no thank you" in their language

  • its a really nice place unless your an american and you dont mind seeing freaks with ak-47's everywhere you look

and as an american you allways have to watch your back so you dont get kidnapped, mugged, murdered,or in some cases all 3

dont forget if you are an american in egypt,,that you are an infedel and 99.9% of the native people hate your guts and want to see you die.

other than that its a pretty nice place

  • @ace1sod K u literally know nothing about Egypt =]

or i might just say ur stupid dude

  • @ace1sod WHAT THE F**K ARE YOU SAYING, IM EGYPTIAN!! And all my frend and reletives there loove americans, and europeeans, Do you belive in superman and batman too? God people like you are so dumb that you belive in any shit you see or hear, Egyptians (Arabs) are the most frendly people on earth, Trust me they are, Go to egypt, and see if they hate you, They will love you, want to see you die??, the whole world want people like, you who just hate and spread it,to die, so do the world a favor,

  • @ace1sod Travel you ignorant fool travel instead of sitting home listening to your right wing radio and becoming more stupid by the hour.

I have been to Egypt twice, Jordan and Lebanon many times. People there will give you the shirt off their backs if they noticed you need one.

  • You did really good with your camera. I have not found such good clip of Cairo like this one! Thank you, Can I ask you, how is the prices in Cairo is it cheap or expensive over there? And for me, (woman 22) can I go by myself and look at the pyramids without someone wanna steal something from me? or something else?Thank you for the clip, n I hope you can answer my questions.

  • @Jenfiaa i am Egyptian and yes u can go by urself any place u want it's safe ,, don't believe the news about iraq and plastinians ,,, coz that not Egypt,, Egypt it's amazing,, about the prices it's cheap if u compare it with USA , by the way the video missed an amazed place it's called: City Stars in Nasr City in cairo,,, it's biggest shop Mall in whole Middle East,, and i must tell u that Egypt has nice cities more than Cairo,,

  • @Jenfiaa

if u love the beach and do some sports like wind surf and Kite Surf u can visit Hurghada or Sharm el Shiekh ,, both in red sea,, but Sharm in Sinai , Adn Hurghada in upper Egypt it's better more than sharm , if u need any help just msg me .. peace :)!

  • you pronounced khan el khally in arabic

    nice ;)

welcome to egypt hope u will visit again soon =]

  • alexandria is better:D

  • good Job,

    I miss Egypt!

  • Egypt also have fantastic places better than Cairo like Luxor and Aswan in upper Egypt plus Sharm El Shekh and Hurgada in the Red Sea and more...

  • Cairo is Um..mother of all cities.

Such beautiful Islamic architecture falling apart because of neglect..friendly and hospitable people.

  • friendly? the guys are clinging all over you.

  • That was a great video it gives me some good ideas of what to do when I go to Egypt. Thanks.

  • I hope baby Jude was wearing sunscreen!

  • Great vid, checkout my channel also for some good vids :)

  • the one place may not be user freindly but, Arr, with all those mummies in one place it must be a caring place.

haha look atr the pervey arabs looking at you. They are disgusting, lol.

  • You shouldn't say Arabs are disgusting, that wasn't nice to say but its your opinion but try be little bit more classy when you post comments like that, and don't judge a whole group if you had a bad experience with one person.

  • @MewHamHead oh yea 2 guys looked at an american girl ... wow arabs r disgusting

well u know what Americans are freakin stereotypers cuz they r isolated from the rest of the world .. so u guys founded easier for u to stereotype ppl n other countries but u seriously know nothing ..

  • i hope u enjoyed cairo !!!

  • Amazing!!! I am fascinated. I hope I will be lucky enough to travel out there.

  • ooooo....lucky ive wanted to go there since i was 4 years old.....oh and your quite cute ive seen a few of your other vids

  • Glad you had fun w/ the family.

  • I went to all those places last year on my Honeymoon. Awesome place. Brings back memories. I did a great job of bargining in the market!!!

  • It looks amazing! I've always wanted to go to Egypt.. one day I hope!

Question though, weren't you scared to bring Jude? I just keep looking at those chubby little cheeks and the thought of anything happening to him makes me so sad :(

  • Awesome vid :) I went to the touristy part of egypt (sharm), but have a huge desire to go to cairo.

  • well u missed alot every place in egypt has its charm and beauty let's say soul and cairo specially it is the city u will never forget about it when ever u visit it u feel like it is the first time u visit it because it is such an amazing city i love it

  • Thats what a lot of people have said, I will go at some point no question! :)

  • That guy on the right side of the screen when you first start showing the souk was on Al Jazeera a couple weeks ago! "The Arab Street - Cairo" was what it was called I think. Search for it.

  • i am so glad you finally posted another video, I've missed your videos!!!!!!!

  • I like the travel videos the best.

  • hi fainstarlite! love love this vid. i've been to egyot twice and have spent a total of 6 weeks there...last time i was there was in the summer of 08. the footage of the pyramids and the belly dancers --i think that was one of the cruise boats on the nile...i've been on one too! i loved the dancing it was so cool! i love egypt and the people and the business and I agree the cab rides are crazy...did you guys ride in the tok tok???

  • Hey fairstarlite, did u eat shawarma, koshari, or Kebab and Kofta?

  • Shawarma, kebab & kofta ... actually, a LOT of shawarma

  • @faintstarlite one question....why did you go to CAIRO??

haha im egyptian and in my opinion cairo sucksssssss

its hot there, there is no sea and its dusty hihi.

believe me sharm el sheik or hurdaga are muchhh better, many people get there.

    x

  • Looks AMAZING... you're the second person I know of that's been to Egypt this year and I'm getting itchy feet... I must go ... I've always wanted to see the pyramids... it's on my bucket list.

  • You should! :) Btw, your book is fabulous - I need to send you a proper email thank you!

  • That was amazing! How you did it with Jude in tow is beyond me. Taking my girls out to the grocery store is crazy enough for me.

  • One of my roommates in grad school was from Alexandria... I wish I would've had time to go but this trip we only had 5 days in Egypt

  • Oh it reminded me of bangladesh, just the busyness, the smog, the children offering you things for money, the market stalls, but ESPECIALLY all the stares you get from the locals. :) Baby Jude is beautiful! :)

  • Reminds me of India too... for all the reasons you stated :-)

  • im arab en i didnt know egypt was so pretty:P...thnx

  • glad you had fun!

  • First off, hecka mecka jealous! I want to go! And awesome footage! I love how many weird looks you were getting like "Is she famous? Should I know this crazy white chick? She's being filmed." haha Way to stir things up!

  • ha ha aha ha ha ha

  • Thanks for sharing- glad that everything went well with Baby Jude!

  • Yea it was great having him with us :)

  • that was terrific.. would love to see more!

    thank you for sharing.

  • Wow that all looks amazing... I want to go!!!!

  • Is it alright if I send this to my social studies teacher? We are currently learning about Ancient Egypt

  • Thanks for sharing your trip with us I felt like i was there myself. The cave churches were amazing!! this whole video was fantastic. You amaze me girl :o) 5 stars and favorited. Now i have to share this with my hubby :o)

  • Thanks Molly! :)

  • I have a Canon HV20

  • Looks like a great trip. The Citadel is stunning.

  • Agreed Phil... it's beautiful

  • awesome! Thanks for sharing!

  • mashallah, great video of egypt!

  • wow this was so fun to watch, now I want to go there! (I'll skip the taxi ride though, I'm a nervous passenger.)

I would love it you posted more video of your trips out and about there

  • Thats amazing that you did all that while traveling around with a new born! That is so cool, most parents stay at home for the first 2 years after having a baby, I love that you and your husband just get up and go. Will you do a video talking about what it was like traveling around with cute little Jude. It looked like you had so much fun!

  • Yah I've been so busy that I haven't done it yet.. but I'd like to do a 'how to travel with a baby' kind of video

  • Great video. As for the robes thing, we've seen guys made to wear wrap-around skirts to enter the Dervish house in Blagaj if they were in short shorts!

  • WOW thanks faintstarlite :) Even though I had wished you've shown the more hectic -yet modern- streets of Cairo! About 20 million live in this city :)

    Glad u enjoyed ur time!

  • Very true.. I think I've got that somewhere in all the footage I shot

  • That looked so fun! but you should have given that girl some money, she needs it to buy her family food etc.

  • ok, i now retract my question of asking if it was wise to bring an american infant. Jude looked like he was having fun even though i don't think he knew what was going on half the time. Thank you so much for sharing your vacation with us. i trust you brought back lots of souvenirs???

  • Egypt looks like it would be so much fun to visit. Perhaps Egypt should come before Europe in my future travel log?

  • alot more siteseeing in egypte then half of europe

  • Yea it's a great vacation spot - plus you could go to places like Dahab on the Red Sea to relax & snorkel or dive

  • Awesome..and Jude's so adorable n__n

  • Awesome video! Will definitely keep in mind when I go to the region! Did you get to keep the green robe? You reminded me of Rogue from X-Men!

  • lol.. no I had to give it back

  • Five Stars!!

  • Thanks for sharing, Esther!

    Almost like being there.

  • So glad I could bring you with us through the footage we brought home :)

  • ok, that cave church was amazing. 5*'s Esther

  • yeah.. there are actually 4 of them I believe - and they're still building cuz they're running out room, even though the largest one holds 20,000 people

  • Great video! I'm Coptic and I've been to the cave churches and the Mokattum Mountain. Amazing!! You are so brave to take your baby to Egypt!! Were you harassed a lot? Riding in a cab is scary! Ever been with a cabbie who likes to go against traffic? I almost peed my pants.

  • lol... yes a few times we got drivers who opted to head the wrong way down a busy street... I learned to just trust that they knew what they were doing. :) As for bringing baby Jude - actually I think he really helped us meet people... everyone wanted to hold him & we appreciated getting to make new friends everywhere we went.

  • It's so inspiring to see you travel with Jude... gives other adventurous parent's courage to do the same... your light is not so faint ;-)
