why would thay do that ? it pisses them off that we australians can build a better cheaper sedans wagons and utes with rear wheel drive,, lol.. thay hate that ! so funny i think!
I already have an order for the g8 later this year, and i "live in the states". Where did 2010 come from? And that ugly ass car/truck thing wouldn't sell for crap over here-but if you did buy one you would be kind of like a toyota prius owner or some stuff. No one really wants to be in one and you look quite gay driving it too. Besides we already have the chevy ssr....yuck! Keep it in austalia, but thanks for the monaro design.
The Holden Ute is probably the best selling ute in Australia. it is designed to be a car/truck because we here in Australia are polite unlike u yankees who frigin take up the hole road with ur stoopd F-250's!!
The Chevy El Camino and Ford Ranchero were sold here for years, so the idea of a "ute" type vehicle for the American market isnt new. Sadly mini trucks killed them off in the 80s.
@jlm6180 Strangely, Australia has the same Japanese utes on the streets that you would see anywhere in America; the chief difference would be that Holden and Ford Australia created them as dual use vehicles. Most of the early utes had panelvan versions as well; a ute with a fullsized roof over the whole cabin and tray. Australia invented the concept, so we're loathe to kill them off. To see what Ford has competing against it, look up "FG Series Falcon ute"
Don't really like the sports car/pickup combination. Looks a bit silly. Sports cars should look like sports cars and pickups should look like pickups!
But u see thats not the point of this Holden VE ute (Pontiac sportstruck).
The point of this ute/sportstruck is that it can be a workhorse/pickup and when the weekend (or freetime) comes u can hit the track do some sweet drifts, max the speedo as u floor it down the front straight, and then some time LATER come out with some BOLD TIRES and a huge SMILE on your face.
in Australia some ppl clasify this as an unofficial sports car, as some ppl buy it because its a 2 seater with a BIG BOOT.
OMG AWSOME, cant wait till hsv gets there hands on it, 'next worlds fastest ute!' onto this ute AWSOME! lol thats all u can say bout this bon to be wonderful hay hauler as longs as its black and a ssv!
i bet u the yanks take off the pontiac logo thing
and put holden 1s on
cause we over hear take off the holden 1s and put pontaiac 1s on

I predict not importing these to the states as a Chevy El Camino will hurt sales.

In the US the Chevy El Camino was pretty much a "ute", made 1959-60 and 1964-1987. Sadly, sales of mini trucks brought their demise.
