@Leendoncasti Nope. He repeatedly stated that this is illegal. If you paid any attention, you'd realize that he's teaching you a move on how to incapacitate or kill someone. It's not a choke but it can do damage to your face, head and neck.
02:07 i just can´t get how he can turn the guy like that,i´m trying with friends this and nowone could make the other turn more than a few inches and sometimes nothing
@corporacionmonstruo What he doesn't really mention is this would be done in a combat situation where your opponent would already be in motion. You really don't need to do the turn anyways to post the technique. Keep in mind, now you should not be trying this at home as it is a neck breaking technique, very very dangerous.
I'm not want to whine but this should only be viewable on a judo site everyone can see thisand there always be idiots who use it and kill/disable someone
We practice this move in catch wrestling. We arent gental with the hold because when you practice every day it dosent hurt anymore. But new members we are carfule. Besided Billy Robinson this guy dose a great job explaining the move. You can get it so much quicker putting the hand on the trap or just crabing your own hand and crank it. Either way a dangerous move that alot of people dont know about. In a match a guy tried to eye poke me and I put this on him. He never did that again!
@TeamTakeoverHLs Don't mention that vile, rip off gross motor skill BS from the late 1800s, its not a martial art, its instinctive folk fighting. Anyway, he could hit and especially grab and hold on to the groin if it takes to long, particuarly when you are trying to break the neck, so while this move is a great augment to a good strikers abilities, it needs to be done FAST, like less than 5 seconds fast. Further, he can fall to the ground to get out of it, though that can help you too.
I've done Judo for years and i must say that i really do not like this technique. The amount of pressure it puts on the neck, with so little force is scary. Quite possibly the easiest way to kill someone with your hands.
Ive noticed alot of people go for the head or spend to much time analyzing weak points and going for the big swing my tactic is if i see my opponent clutch his fist or go for a grab i attack using my left elbow in an upwards motion like an uppercut
You will never need to use this lets face it the only time you will need to use lethal force is if you put your self in that position even if your opponent is set on killing you there are ways you can stop him
This move leaves you vulnerable to a right (or left hook) also someone who knows grappling can easily pull guard.Additionally what if youre wearing a tank top the other guy can easily slip out.
There are too many flaws.
My advice: STICK TO THE BASICS!! THese "secret" and "lethal" moves are too complicated and can lure you in a false sense of security when in a position in which your defending yourself.
the thing the instructor leaves out is this is pretty much a "finishing" move. even if u don't break his neck he might break it himself from struggling
Judo removed dangerous moves so they could practice at full speed without killing or injuring each other.BJJ did/does the same thing.Western-Boxing same thing. There is nothing stopping you from learning/practicing the deadly/illegal moves for fighting criminals.
Kano Judo school met all Jujitsu schools and won way back when for Japanese police. The reason is sparring at full speed without the deadly moves is more effective than training controlled sparring with deadly moves.IMO you learn both.
I used this neck crank many times as a bouncer.I prefer it by far to the guillotine.I did wear a cup when working. Some people will grab your junk.punching your junk from that position and up-rooted has no power.Against a criminal and not some pissed off drunk you only want to control you can use enough force that a crotch grab will not be practical if your willing to do real damage.Against your drunk friend you don't want to really, hurt watch your junk.
Shame judo is just a sport, most of the arts i sport and have lost there edge, and real life is what these are really not sport. not many of us compete so it make sence to practice this for real life unless were attacked.
in my opinion judo was made to be efficient in not just stopping ability but also in keeping from injuring the other person... this might as well be called the neck break
cool technique, but hard to pull off. first off, judo techniques from sport being non effective isn't accurate. good judo players throw you fast and you're going to throw off of movement. this neck crank may work on some, but not on a good fighter.
12 years as a bouncer and club manager, i used arm bars chokes take downs
all the the techniques learned during randori in dojo, in close combat judo was the way to go. By the way I lost a judo match to Mr Saylor in 1980 Nats, he was very good
Like you say in the video, there's a reason this technique is not allowed in competition. The key components that make it work (isolating the neck, controlling the opponent, and being able to apply leverage) are clearly visible and demonstrate a greater potential for permanent damage than your average neck crank. Even in a controlled environment, this move is dangerous.
Judo is great but the only problem I have with it is that fights can be one by pin where in bjj it is incourage for you to defend your self off your back. You can do alot of offense in a bjj guard. I think judo stance and take downs with a jui jistsu ground game is the most practical
I would say yes. This is why... Judo gives you the ability to control your opponent. It teaches you how to grip people (everyone wears clothes) and i tell you, if you trow someone onto thier back on concrete, the fights over! Plus Judo is practiced at 100% power making it very effective. The chokes, armbars and throws will give you more than enough to end a fight quickly. And there isnt anything in BJJ that isnt taught in JUDO. Ya just gotta find the right Dojo...
This tech is an excellent way of ending agression extremely quickly in most cases. I have used it personally in law enforcement and nightclub security scenarios with good results. The only thing I would add to this vid which is very well done by by the way is the final way in which its executed. Instead of lifting up on the arms to lock which requires in some cases too much physical force, instead simply lower your wt at hips and pump hips forward while lowering body. Not lifting it. JMO
