much better then when you first started off. And hey, Im not looking up your

your shorts anymore, ARRRRRGGGGH !!!!!!!! That being said, very nice. You

always put a smile on my face. Thanks buddy.

  • GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD :DDD

  • vabejas play well, but I still owe

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    muy bella composicion

    exelente interpretacion atnbien

  • for a while i couldn't imagine how people want to play and hear this kind of musik, because i hear metal whole the time. but a few months ago i started playing classical guitar (against my will ;)) and now i know it: you can feel something like a spirit come throught your whole body when you're playing. it's awesome!

  • Well, I don't agree, I think the great thing about Mr. Sor is you are NEVER BORED with it, because every note counts... What you have mentioned, is the bad thing about him. And the worst thing about playing music is that the more you know about it the less satisfied you are with your performance – at least this is true for me. I enjoyed YOUR performance but I know the feeling of not being satisfied with my own performance. My mother tells me that this helps you to improve. Greetings,

    Gergely

  • A bit to slow, should be around 108 for a quarter note and I have 2 more bars on my page, first a whole note flagiolets gbe on the 12th position and than a flagiolet on the low e in the 12th position, but maybe not original.

But nicely played, give you five stars.

  • Very good tone and excellent playing. However it confirms my feelings since I started playing classical guitar. Fernando Sor is boring even with the best players and guitars

  • Very nice. Thank you

This piece reminds me Giuliani op.48 nr. 5 at the end.

  • You play Sor as if you were Sor!!!. Excelent!!

  • Thanks for uploading this wonderful piece! Your interpretation inspired me to start learning it as well. Keep up the good work.

  • Working through 'Complete Sor Studies' page by page using YouTube search engine and listening piece by piece, finding this hidden jewel, listened to your work several hundred times this and last week, and spent last evening and the evening before working through it with my guitar, its a masterpiece and enjoyed using your work as a guide!

  • absolutely love this piece, maybe because to me it has the same haunting beauty of Beethoven's moonlight sonata. Once I found your playing of this piece a couple of weeks ago, I found the sheet music and have been practicing it, albeit about 1/2 the speed of yours but it will improve. Love e minor pieces , probably why I had to learn Tarrega's Etude in Em. Listen to Eric Henderson's interpretation of moonlight sonata on the guitar and you will fall in love with it. Great work

  • beautifully done!

  • veramente buona l'esecuzione. Complimenti!

  • joder

  • i love this piece i hope i can play it as well as u did!

  • Thank you, Vabejas. Excellent perfomance. The piece is very brooding yet uplifting.

  • This a beautiful piece! I've Googled my fingers sore to find the tab or Midi for this, and it seems the internet jut dances all around this beautiful piece. I can't find it anywhere. I'm trying to learn it by ear from the video, but that's a daunting task!

  • Great! Beautifully played

  • thank you Vabejas for this piece you put great emotion into it . beautiful performance .

  • Which is also in e minor

  • Very nice playing, I'm learning this piece now. I just got done learning F. Sor op 60 no 22 which reminds me of this one.

  • Very nicely played Jasper!

  • I know what you mean about Sor pieces and never being satisfied with them. I have been playing one for 25 years and still don't feel I really "have it". Your performance was lovely. I have never heard this piece. I have to find the sheet for it now!

  • Toca muy bonito

    Jasper

  • Excellent,5 stars, when I learn this study my dream is to play it as well as you just have in this video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Sorry I missed your comment, thank you for your feedback,

    Regards,

    Jasper

  • My thought is that everyone should have an aquarium in their life, a woman in the corner knitting and just about any Fernando Sor selection playing. Excellent post.

  • This beautiful interpretation of this study was my guide to prepare for my college exam to music career which I passed:D

thanks sir! keep it up! greeting from colombia:D

No habla español, me excusa. ¡Verano!

    Saludos, Vabejas

  • A great interpretation of a hauntingly beautiful study.

    Easily 5 stars!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Thanks so much Paul, I already forgot about this one :)

I agree, it's a beautiful study, and... quite easy to play. Love to hear your version one day.

    take care,

    Jasper

  • This is remarkably beautiful, authoritative playing. If you didn't state in your profile that you'd just picked up the guitar, I'd guess you'd been playing for a long time.

  • Cheers liamstoaster, glad you enjoyed it!

    Vabejas

  • very good sir i wish i could play like that greetings from greece

- I hope it's correct :)

    Thanks vasilispol16!

    Regards,

    Vabejas

  • Sounds good! This study of Sor is really moving ... Wonderful!!

  • Hi Vabejas. This is the first video of yours that I saw on YT.The study is an excellent one and not played often.Amazing skill in playing and nice interpretation.I picture the tides ebbing and flowing in your play.Well done.Congrats.

  • Thanks Sagan1948! I appreciate your comment.

    regards,

    Vabejas

  • Really nice interpration, lower than the original one if i'm right...

Anyway i really like the feeling you put within...

Probably the next one of Sor i gonna learn...

    So dark and passionate...

    Sor is IMMORTAL!

  • exelente interpretacion felicidades

  • beautiful music, first time i hear this estudio, thanks for sharing it.

  • Really enjoyed listening to your playing of this piece and the precision of your timing. I confess I've never heard this particular study played before despite all the CD's I have incorporating Fernando Sor. Well done.

  • Thank you grumblemuck. Sor has so many hidden treasures. You need 3 lives to explore them all.

    Regards,

    Vabejas

    Marcos

  • Your careful tender practice make the study and real work. You got the music sensitivity and any song you play will be music. BTW as you seem French people I wish to hear Kleyjans's work. Most of his work requires difficult left-hand and I heard full of French sensibilty, I guess.

  • Thanks BJC, I appreciate your comment. I need to get into Kleynjans' music, don't know anything about him. Thanks for the tip!

    Regards,

  • Another excellent video here Vabejas, well done! Keep up the great work!

  • Thanks a lot charleslemagne!

    Sorry for the late reply,

    Regards,

  • I also have played this piece a lot, never satisfied but still great fun to play.

    Peter

  • Thanks a lot Peter!

    Vabejas

  • Hi Jasper

    Sounds really nice

    Cheers, Anders

  • Thanks Anders, Sor is one of my favourites.

I haven't seen you vids for a long time, I'll hop over to your channel now!

    Bye.

    Jasper

  • I really liked your treatment of this piece. Most people play it way too fast. You gave it a real moody feel to go along with that minor key. My only critique is I would like to hear you play it with less nail on the bass line. it came off as brittle and brassy a few times. It became distracting. Aside from that, I just loved this. Thanks for posting!

    Nick

  • Thank you for your constructive comment Nick, much appreciated!

    All the best,

    Jasper

  • beautifully played!

    for sure 5*****

  • Thank you Jesse! All the best!

    Jasper

  • great work u did my friend.

  • Thanks for your friendly comment Maisoor.

    Regards,

  • Very nice!

  • I'm happy you like it, thanks!

    regards

  • Very Nice Sor, my firend.

  • Thank you very mucho!

  • Hi Vabejas!

I really liked this one! You are right: Sor is great. In my opinion the best from that period! And this study is beautiful too. And you play it with a lot of musicallity! 5 stars and a hug!

    Peo

  • Hi Per, thanks for your kind(gren) reaction! It means so much to me if you like my playing, since I consider you as a world class guitar performer. I hope your CD is doing well, I'm sure it will, Ive ordered a copy!

    Best regards,

    Vabejas

  • Ok, Vabejas, I'm not going to be shy. :)

One thing I notice in this video is your guitar seems to be more vertical and higher on your body.... compared to your Leo Brouwer Estudio videos. Something new?

  • Very true Julie, I noticed that as well! It's unintentional though. I've got one of these gitano supports instead of a foot rest. Maybe I've fixed it on a different spot for this Sor!:) I prefer the angle in the Brouwer though!

Thanks for your comment, much appreciated!

    Hugs,

  • salut jasper!

  • Merci Maestro! J'apprécie ton feedback!

    Amitiés,

    Jasper

  • Hello Vabejas,

What a lovely piece! Well played, Vabejasísimo.

    Regards,

    Julie

    P.S.

I like what you wrote up there.. "don't be shy." hehehe

  • Hi Julissima!

Thank you, always so friendly! Are you enjoying the early Californian spring? I watched some golf at Pebble Beach, Carmel yesterday, stunning scenery, great weather!

Looking forward to your next video, whatever it may be! Surprise us!

    Big hug,

    Vabejas

  • Hello Jasper !

It's true, you are already playing with a wonderful feeling and musicality.

And, yes, you are also right with Mr. Sor ! But I think there isn't one way for playing his compositions...You really are on a good way !

    Kind regards

    Thomas

  • Hi Thomas,

Thank you for your friendly words!

    regards,

  • Indeed, it is a beautiful and melodious piece!

I must repeat that in my humble opinion your

playing and constant progress are very

impressive. You are a musician before being

a quitarist. As you play more time and

more pieces the way you play each one of

them will become better. Thank you for

    sharing. - Athan

  • Thank you Athan, nice comment!

    All the best to you!

  • Hi Jasper! Another fine piece from the great Fernando! I like your tone very much, it's full of power! Your progress is really stunning!

    Groetjes (Hi Jolina)

    Juergen

  • Thanks Juergen!

Hey your Dutch is getting better as well!:-) It's good to practice it: Euro 2008 coming up!

    Groetjes terug!

  • A lovely musical performance, again,Jasper! -

you find the 'soul' in everything you play!

How about moving the right a little closer

to the fingerboard in certain sections to

get a contrasting warmer sound? ...I'm

sure your guitar can produce that too!

Keep posting! - It's a joy to listen to you!

    Kind regards, Maria

  • Thank you Maria, it's funny, when I practice without mic I get more colours and I tend to vary my right hand position more. It's still beginners tension, concentrating too much on not making a mistake! I appreciate you comment a lot! I'll try to apply it on your Ragtime soon!

    Best regards,

    Jasper

  • Hey Jasper!! Nice to see a new video from!! Very nice playing and good sound very gentle and warm!! What guitar do you play?

    Sarah :-)

  • Thanks for stopping by Sarah and for your nice comment. My guitar is a Camps-SP-6 all solid with cedar top, a good quality study guitar.

I'm now over to your channel, I think you have a new Schumann, one of my favourite composers! See you there! :)

  • I like your guitar sounds very nice!! I search for a new but it's not so easy to find the right. Oh great....I will see you there :-)

  • Beautiful music, Jasper!

    -Chris

  • Hi Chris, nice to hear from you! I'm happy you like it!

    Kind regards,

  • Hee Jasper!

Mooi hoor.

Of toch fichte?

    Groetjes,

  • truely very well worked out. congratulations for your musicanship and such a smooth arpeggio. Your technik looks very stable, good job!!

maybe think about colours a little bit over the next time, and it's going to be even better.

    my best,

    Katrin

  • Thanks for your detailed comment, Katrin, much appreciated! I know exactly what you mean with the colors. I hear them exactly in my head still cannot project them always as I would like to. It will come with time and mucho practice! I'm glad you liked it anyway. You're a great player!

    All the best,

  • Wow! that was really good, perfect in my opinion! and the sound is also very good. you must've put a lot of work in this piece i can see, nice playing and I loved the dynamics

    All best,

    Liran

  • Hey thanks Liran! Perfection is far away though!

    All the best to you!

  • Lovely playing my friend, very smooth and relaxed.

    Best wishes.

    Paul

  • Thanks Paul!

Keep composing! There are more trees out there! :)

    Best wishes
