The heat necessary to melt aluminum is quite hot enough to weaken steel. The question then is, was the heat applied long enough to weaken the steel such that it compromised the integrity of the building. The answer is yes as we all saw on that day.

First of all... architects draw pretty pictures and are about as qualified to comment on the structural state of a building as you are. The engineers make up a small minority when you consider the entire profession globally. It doesn't what type of engineers also.
