Why is it that none of these politicians want to give credit for the consumption tax back to fairtax (dot) org.

Fairtax NOT flat tax has been on the table for some time and was built as a model to replace the existing tax code. But, every politician wants credit of this concept for themselves and never mention the fairtax.

Just implement the fairtax at a Federal level and watch America grow.

While a NRST is better than the unlawful income tax, the constitution already provides for a tax that favors Americans who buy American made goods. It's called tariffs. Tariffs encourage domestic manufacturing. Notice how we don't have tariffs, and we don't have domestic manufacturing anymore? A NRST taxes goods made in socialist/communist economies at the same rate as goods made and bought by Americans. Tariffs essentially make the US duty free for American made goods bought in America.

No there are no Tariffs on specific industries.

But just about anything thats is imported is already taxed in accordance to the (USHTS) US Harmonized Tariff Schedule.

Anything coming into the US is subject to an import tariff.

The United States International Trade commission has the Harmonized Tariff Schedule online.

When you are bringing anything into the US you must claim it and the customs agent will see what you owe. The Gov is already milking the import market dry.

The question is: What is the tariff schedule, you mention, harmonized with? Since it is created by the World Customs Organization, which is a product of GATT, it is obvious that the tariff schedule is harmonized among the member nations.

Tariffs as provided for by the founders were to provide revenue for the US, and hands the American people the reins of their economy. Surrendering American management of tariff rates to a world government is unconstitutional and un-American.
