Oh chaps first rate that would convince any tv com ed to remake the show, you hit the ethos bang on! Only fault ? THE ACTING ! You took the Piss out of your own hard work . Redux those bits and send it to BSkyb you'll hit a winner I can tell you, far better than the movie with far less cash TIP TOP.
I think the Marionettes had more acting ability. You put all of that time and effort into creating some truly spectacular visuals for it to all fall down because you didn't get some decent dialogue audio? I was heartbroken when the wooden acting (pardon the pun) and dialogue I could barely make out ruined what could have been a slice of pure perfection.
These are truly minor gripes as the finished product looks polished and overall I am still massively impressed. But next time - re-dub!
To think that they would find a more sensible way to destroy that meteor than to blow it up, potentially jeapordizing dozens of satellites afterwards.
I say one of the sequels feature thunderbird four on an arctic mission, like a research skimmer went through thin ice and is now lying at the bottom of the arctic sea, with temperatures dropping fast, will thunderbird four be able to survive the fridged temperatures and save the crew
Award material on this one when comparing to the live action movie. Thunderbirds just isn't the same without throwbacks to the amazing designs of the various vehicles and buildings from the 60's show. also, gotta love that you got Mr. Rimmer to lend you his voice. Good work, gentlemen.
For no budget, hat's off; the sets and effects were great. But just as the best version of "A Christmas Carol" was the one most faithful (1951), so this would be if the music was more in line with the original (updated yes but replaced no) & if you could find a donor to hire a decent sound editor & some actors with better grooming. What made the series endearing was the retro camp in all areas & too much updating ruins the flavor, a fault of all soulless remakes.
Chris, I enjoyed your very well made Thunderbirds film. Thanks fer keeping the memory of Thunderbirds alive! I hope that yue will git round to making sume more.
@Doctor699 Well as long as thats all you can find wrong with it :) You are scraping the bottom of the barrel though when it comes to put downs though.
@Doctor699 Actually, there is gravity in space...but you are in a state of free fall. Even in earth's atmosphere, if what you are traveling in is falliing, you are"weightless." Thus, the Vomit Comet. Considering circumstances and budget, this is damn good. I admire the ambition and the love for a property that has been so mishandled. Leave it to the fans to do better. Remember Lost in Space...ruined by New Line. Here's hoping the new web series is better.

@kennetzel Outside of the atmosphere, if the rocket went straigt up, then there would be gravity, but once in orbit, the mass of the Earth, combined with your speed and the gravitational pull of the earth would make it just about impossible to have gravity.
this is amazing im a great fan of the original series and you guys are suberb if thunderbirds is to be brought into the new age yu guys should be in charge, great work also the flight controls look just like thinderbird 1's so that greta likeness
this is amazing im a great fan of the original series and you guys are suberb if thunderbirds is to be brought into the new age yu guys should be in charge, great work
@TB1fan I will! As for Prisoners of Shada, I have overreached myself slightly on that. I intended to do all the character animation myself, but what with all the other assignments I have there really isn't enough time. I do want to do some Doctor Who, though. I've considered doing a stop motion short with a few of those excellent action figures, proper, 25fps stop motion. Green screen some digital sets in. I've done some tests, it looks quite good...
@TB1fan As for a Thunderbirds fan short, there's no lack of scripts. I'm working on making digital marionettes, which can be easily edited. I've still got a lot to figure out, but it's too fun not to do it, really.
At 00:58 is that Cloud Base? and did you design thoughs Fire Tenders at 01:20 if so good on ya nice design like the Flak looking water cannons on them. definantly looks like something out of Thunderbirds.
@AaronIzzard Yep :) under construction at Tracy Design and Aerospace, and yep was going to use the City of fire ones but decided to go for something more original.
Excellent work in general, I cant over emphasise what a great job you have done!
I must agree with a few other posts that the music needs a bit of 'adjustment' less synth and more orchestral. The general audio needs clearing up, is that a youtube problem or could you enhance your speech a bit post production.
The opening sequence with fireflash, firefly the might atom scenes and other scenes from favourite episodes were particually well done. I was very impressed with the first 2-3 min.
@rougueg Cheers rougueg :) Im afraid the audio was generally down to how it was filmed and our lack of experience. This is clearly the films biggest problem and i'm going to take steps to rectify this in the sequel. Im going to buy a Zoom h2 recorder and record the sound externally. Hopefully that should sort it.
This was so good I felt like I was part of the action. There's even better hopes that Gerry Anderson gets the rights back to make New Thunderbirds. I want to see that come about. It'll be the greatest animated TV series yet to come.
You can't hurry a rendezvous in orbit by increasing your speed. If you've matched orbits already, increasing your speed will only throw you off target by reducing your orbit altitude -- more speed means a faster, and therefore lower orbit, causing a miss.
EPIC! VERY well done in so much places. The combination of reallife and 3D was handled really well, making it seem like they belonged with eachother.
I specifically like the use of the old sound effects and the combination of new versions and old versions of the crafts and vehicles (and the cameo of cloudbase and tiger moth, nice touch :p).
The audio however wasn't very spectacular for the rest. The music was okay, but the rest was kind of badly done. But other than that MASSIVE props!!
mate you can have rights to my seascape script/book if you want. this is epic, if only you could make a full episode that would be great. congratulations on this work. Epic! :)
@HitcherThunder Oh!.... I'm sorry!...Am I suppose to like or dislike what you do? Nobody told me!.....I think this is an Excellent amateur production. The acting and CGI was far better than some professional productions I have watched. I hope they make many more.
@darkstarkc99 God know's which "professional" productions you've been watching, but even the acting in "Hollyoaks" and "Waterloo Road" was better than this.

@HitcherThunder It's easy to criticize from behind the keyboard isn't it? These guys have talent. And I enjoyed it. Personally, I though your comment was rude and obnoxious! If you didn't like it fine!.... But I'm not you!! and I don't care what you think!...When you grow a set of nads and start producing and posting yourself. you'll find out how much work goes into something like this. then perhaps you'll grow a brain.
