nursing is beautiful no matter what people say or think..its natural and its the best milk a baby can have...but you know he is 2 and the milk you are producing is good and proper for you newborn, so i would consider stooping with him because of it!!!
You know, Breast milk is only essentials, for the first 6 months, after that they start eating food that will give them more nutriments, of course breastfeeding gives them comfort, and of course you will breastfeed them at least 1 year . I mean no disrespect, to you. I just wanted to talk about it! My ex ( I had a beautyfull son Premature) I had to fight with my girlfriend, to breast feed him so he would get the Colostrum he needed to build up is immune system. she only breast feed for 1 month:(
@lordpatrice just curious..where do you live? Breast milk helps to prevent many different types of infections and it even helps to prevent childhood leukemia.. also, for every year a woman breastfeeds a child, her risk of getting breast cancer "goes down" by about four percent..I'm glad you're a supporter!
I know this is an older video but i just wanted to say that yes Toddlers can get a lazy latch and you do feel their teeth more then when they were youngher, try getting him to attach with a wide open mouth everytime so he dosnt get lazy and not attach properly.
My question is this: Doesn't the milk that comes into your breasts when you have a newborn differ from the type that fills the breast when your child is older? I heard that it is very thin or watered down in the beginning and gets thicker and whiter as the child gets older. So I didn't know it was possible to nurse 2 children who are so far apart in age?
@toasterflag The first milk is called collostrum. Its is very rich, contains antibodies for the newborn, and is only produced in small quantities for a few days. As long as the newborn gets all it needs, there's no reason not to let a toddler have the rest.
Other than those first few days, milk only changes in response to weather - when its hot, its thinner so the baby gets more water, and when its cold it more fatty to help the baby stay warm.
My son is 20 months, and he is still nursing frequently. I am a proud breastfeeding mom and he will wean himself when he is ready. Even if its to 4 years old! Proud LACTIVIST!!!!!
@xxxjoelpolexxx Me either! Yay for us proud mommys!!...my baby will turn 2 in about 2 weeks and he still asks for his "teta" as he calls them...lol...everyone loves and admires the fact that I still breastfeed!
@wikinfei More and more studies are saying breastfeeding until 2.5 to 3 years is the best since its very healthy and helps with sicknesses. I personally would maybe stop around 1.5 but who knows im not a mom yet and if i do decide to breastfeed until longer then im benefiting my child-shes a great mother for giving herself to her child (now if the kid was like 7 then that would be a little weird! )
Your son is adorable!!! Good job to you mamma! My son is 22 months and nursing. Hopefully things have been figured out about the biting. My son does that sometimes, usually when he's teething, and I move him farther up towards my arm if that makes sense and it helps. You rock!
Hey Lucy! You haven't heard from me in a LONG time. Been watching YT videos still but haven't been making any. Not even sure if you remember me. (my son is Eddie....you subscribe to me...and I was one of the winners of your breastpump give away a long long time ago)...anyway...Eddie is 26 months old now and still breastfeeding twice a day. Before nap and before bed. I was just randomly looking up "26 month old still breastfeeding" and your video popped up so I thought I'd say hello. :)
I hope this isn't a weird question but i stopped breastfeeding my son at 4 months.. he is now 13 months and i'm pregnant again... when the new baby arrives, eventhough i stopped breast feeding my 13 month old 9 months ago, is it ok to give him breast milk as long as i put the new babies need first? i know his latching days are over but maybe in his cup? just curious because i realized that he was never sick until I stopped...he's had a cold or something every freaking week...lol..
Hi I am breast feeding and my son will be one in March...I am wondering how I am going to get him to stop. He like to latch on every five minute and like to twist my other nipple while feeding or scratch or rub my other breast. For me this is becoming to much. But I can say I do see the different in intellect with him and my other son who I beast feed for only a month. My other son didn't start walking into 13 months but he was a preemie and my son now is walking at nine months.
good job on keeping up with the breast feeding hun, just ignore all those fools that talk down to you or say what your doing is wrong or even perverted. It's only their own minds that are twisting it from a comforting beneficial process, into something dirty. =/
u just have to remind ur son about his teeth he seems to understand.bc the longer the better(to a certain point.) ur doing a great job sticking to it! i wish my son was breastfed longer. and knowing u have two kids is encouraging to thoughs who want to give up. so thanks !!
Wow! Good for you for feeding for so long! I made it one month with my first daughter, and pumped for 3 months with my second (13 week preemie, we couldn't teach her how to latch once she was finally allowed to eat). I was also clinically diagnosed with low milk supply, medicated, and did everything in my power to produce milk, but physically my body couldn't do it. Any milk is better than no milk though. Good for you:)
Yay to extended breastfeeding momma!!! I'm at 24 months and going strong. My daughter is super healthy, happy, relaxed, and content. Haters keep hating lol
This takes a lot of courage to show. and teach, other mothers and dads the ins-and-outs about breastfeeding. Why courage? Because you expose yourself to the comments of ignorant and down right idiotic males who think the female human body is for just one thing: sex. As a health care professional I can attest to the great benefits of a child getting their milk nutrition straight from Mom. Breast milk passes along antibodies and sets the baby for optimum health. God bless you and your husband.
you are awesome. I breastfed till i was about 6. and I still remember. It was a comfort thing, an my mother and were real close because of it. i have no problems, like i am not bi, i am not anything like that... Actually i chose when i wanted to stop, and i only did because i got hooked on chocolate soy milk. Then i only wanted my mother maybe once or twice a week, and it slowly cut down.
Well done for showing a great example of mothering! I tandem nursed my daughter and son, she was almost 2 when he was born and I tried weaning her during pregnancy but she still felt she needed it even when I think there was no milk. After the birth I tried to make sure the baby came first and nursed both around 3Xdaily. He will still need a lot of attention when he weans and it will still be demanding. You are a great example!
To the comments that call you a creep or say that kids are soft because of extended breastfeeding, I'd rather "give in" to my kids' wants and make them feel secure, loved, nurtured, etc. than "teach" them to expect no comfort when they need it. Nutritionally, the child still gets nourishment, but the most important thing is the bond between mother and child. These "soft" children are loved and know how to give love in return--more than I can say for the posters who feel the need to be critical.
Go see a doctor madame. You are the sickest person on youtube just showing off and bragging. Our sons need us without being breastfed at this age. There is no difference bt breastfeeding at your son's age and letting them using a pacifier at that age it is still the same. He can get all the benefits from other foods now and soon he will be going to pre K shame on you
@Babybluesome really?! Do your research because you are one of the dumbest person I have come across!! I'm sure that you do not know all the benefits of extended breastfeeding otherwise you wouldn't say such dumb things. Also a Pacifier is a piece of plastic that imitates a real nipple. It does not hold your child, nurture your child - it most likely leaches toxic chemicals into their body!
Such a good mom! I have a 16 month old and she is still breastfeeding. It is sad that some parents don't realize the benefits of extended breastfeeding. Maybe if they would do a little research they wouldn't be so critical. At one time I swore I would never breastfeed because no one in my family did they when I got older I changed my mind. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Especially for my daughter. Keep up the good work.
Good job Mama!! My two boys are 23 months and 1 month and I wish my 23 month old was stilling BFing! My supply dried up at about 4 months pregnant. When I had the baby I offered for my older son to nurse but he didnt want to anymore.
@kbella007 I do pump as well, but sometimes it's the act of breastfeeding, being close, etc. It's easier, more sanitary & you don't always have a pump on hand, but msot of all even at this age it's still natural via tap.
@xxxjoelpolexxx No that's just your need to feel needed. If he can remember sucking on your breast, that is unhealthy, and you're a creep. "Being close", or rather "my issues of wanting my son to be too attached to me". Be responsible and stop molesting your son. Natural my ass. It's natural at 6 months, maybe 1, not after 2.
@BlatantlyBritt you have a right to not agree with some one breastfeeding a toddler but telling them to stop molesting their son is just wrong what is wrong with you that you would feel the need to say that to someone you do not know, and it is very obvious that she is breast feeding her son not MOLESTING him you idiot...
@MrsDaniellePlamer A MAN TOUCHES A GIRL AND HES LABELLED A PREDATOR AND A CHILD MOLESTER BUT ITS OK FOR WOMEN TO BECOME INTENSELY SEXUALLY AROUSED DURING BREASTFONDLING AND FEEDING OF A GIRL??? YOU HYPOCRITE HYPOCRITE HYPOCRITE HYPOCRITE HYPOCRITE.
@BlatantlyBritt Have you done any research? You're obviously from the US seeing as the US is just about the only country so BEHIND on knowledge about full term breastfeeding (which, fyi is way past one year old). Please, grow up. Look up some facts before you spew your ignorant opinions.
@BlatantlyBritt Actually, weaning at 6 months or a year is pretty new (within the last 100 years) and limited to Western culture. Everywhere else in the world nurses to at least 2 years and have for centuries. molesting? seriously?
I say he doesn't need to brest feed because is talking and should be on solid foods or formula. what is the little guy going to say when he's three I want something to eat but I like tit better. This is why kids are so soft these days mothers just give in to what their kids wants.
@hawkkins562 Formula over breastmilk? Seriously? Also my children started talking around 5-6 months so that means I should I have quit nursing there? Most kids start solids around 4-6 months so again I should have quit nursing then? A MINIMUM OF 12 MONTHS is the bare minimum on how long a child should be nursed. Most dont wean till 2-4 years of age. Kids are so "off" b/c of ignorant folks like you breading...
@xxxjoelpolexxx the pediatrician specifically told my gf to start adding in formula to get the other vitamins like D that arent found in breast milk. that or you could add supplements for your child but its easier to go back and forth with formula and breast milk. we even used breast milk as the liquid to mix the formula to get all the nutrients
@davidpenwell1987 The only Vitamin that breast milk is lacking is Vit D which it is recommended that all breastfed babies get 400iu/day. D drops allow you to give one little drop on your nipple or pacifier....simple and easy. Breast milk otherwise is far superior to formula...that physician definitely did not give your gf the facts or good advice....which is sad.
Meh. I find it weird, but apparently experts are saying that it would be highly beneficial to breastfeed a child until AT LEAST 2 years old - 3 being preferable.
Wow, he is DEMANDING it now? And you just give in. That kid is going to be running back to the teat for the rest of his life. He is going to have to learn someday that he doesn't always get his way, and the sooner the better. He can't just go around lifting strangers shirts when he wants to see a tit (trust me). Natural or not, I think you are doing him a disservice.
Also, if breastfeeding is natural, and you are proud enough to make a YT video of it, why cover your breasts?
@osculant There is a difference between being proud of breastfeeding, and wanting a bunch of perverts seeing your breasts. Sure, breasts are natural, breastfeeding is natural but perverted people make something natural very dirty.
Really 26 months? you cant just come to the terms that your kid is 2 cuz you know if you say the age in months it might make you feel better that your still giving him boob??? Theres no reason you cant give him breast milk in a sippy cup
I think what you are doing for your kids is wonderful. I tried to BF my youngest daughter bu the latch was all wrong and it was very painful for me. I stopped when she was four months and after that she got really really sick. I blamed myself for a long time because I felt like I could have kept her from getting so sick had I not stopped. I am now pregnant with my 3rd child and I plan to BF this baby. So I am researching and taking all the proper classes to make sure this time it is a success.
@txsfynst210 breastfeed babies get sick too....breastmilk IS amazing but it's not that amazing to prevent all colds & illnesses, lol so don't blame yourself! It's more so the lifestyle & surrounding conditions that have a bigger play in that
wow....you deserve a pat on the back. I couldn't imagine feeding two at once. I have breastfed my daughter for 8.5 months and it has been so hard. I would love to be able to do that! Good for you!
I totally understand with the mole, I have one on mine too, and my 18 month old daughter picks at it and it hurts! I try to cover it or distract her so she'll leave it alone. Good for you for continuing to breastfeed!
Good on you! :). I hadn't planned on tandem feeding my last 2 kids. But when new bub came along, it only seemed natural as Mr 2yrold wasn't ready to give it up yet. I breastfed both successfully for a long period. I think with the teeth thing, they just get a bit lazy and want to feed their own way. Gentle reminders that 'biting = no feeding' helps. You're doing a great job. :)
I don't know if anyone has said this or not because you have a lot of comments on your video so if they have then I am sorry but I heard that a child's palate will change over time so they will no longer be able to have the proper latch needing for nursing and at that time they will be able to suck but they won't be able to manipulate the boob properly to get milk out of it. Some mothers will nurse their child until that happens, hopefully i will be able to do extended BF with my son
It's sad how people are so stuck in thir ways. More worried about what other people will think of them and their child if they breastfeed over a certain age. Just because it isn't the norm in their life doesn't mean that it should be the same for everyone else. If it isn't hurting anyone and is healthy and might i mention FREE!! Then the more power to those who choose to breastfeed. My mother breastfeed me until 2, and i think it did me some good! lol and im not embarrised or ashamed.
Not to be rude but you having to tell your son no teeth and the fact that you dont feel comfortable nursing your 2 year old in public are BIG signs that he is wayy too old to still be nursing... I know pwoplw are gonna jump all over this comment but thats my personal opinion
@cami805 A mother to a 5 month old baby who doesn't feel comfortable nursing her child in public & has to tell him/her no teeth as they're cutting their teeth is a sign that their child is too old? You realize now how that makes no sense right?!?! Aside from the the fact that TWO is NORMAL that is probably why people would "jump all" over you for that comment.
@cami805 it is kinda rude that you have such a rude opinion towards something that has nothing to do with you.. i am sure she was asking for positive comments not comments that put her parenting down... She is doing what she feels is right, you are not the parent to those children so leave them alone..
you CAN "forget", as you get older you jsut kinda grow out of it I guess, but I'm not sure about the ages that it would happen, it happens for every kid at their own age, every is different
@xxxjoelpolexxx Okay so I'm going to clarify this. I was frustrated cause I couldn't remember exactly what the "growing out" stage was. But anyway, I guess a child has "milk teeth", aka baby teeth, and when they lose them, or their jaw starts to grow, they lose the ability to suckle since the shape of their jaw changes. From what i've read, Kacen is still to young, 2 is still way appropriate to breastfeed, but maybe it's been because he's been using bottles/cups to drink pumped milk?
@castlesuzie He's never had a bottle/nipple, but he does drink out of the bottle like a cup (just b/c it's a perfect grip for his hands & I don't have to dirty up an actual cup, lol) although he's been using cups for over a year. So
Does Kacen ever take away any of the supply that is used for the baby? Just curious. I am breastfeeding my one month old who was born the day after urs was and I was wondering if u ever worry about the baby not getting enough because Kacen might drink it all? I so support and respect u for random nursing but I am just so curious how u go about making sure the baby gets enough still. Thanks for the info Hun! God bless and ignore the idiotic comments from the dumb asses on here. Xx
I still breastfeed my son who is 2 months older than kacen. He only demands when hes sleepy. I loved the over all process of breastfeeding but honestly now it has become irritation to me. I want to wean him which is very hard. He does demands for breastmilk when i am in public and he wants to go to sleep. I try to divert his mind and put him on my lap and pat him... but it never works and he wins.
I am in the same boat with the weird toddler latch, my 27 month old is still nursing along with my 6 month old. He started using his top teeth after his sister was born, I think it was because he did forget a little (we didn't nurse much through my last month of pg) I did the same thing and take him off when it gets uncomfortable. And just a little tip, rinse your nip after feeding one then the other because my kids have gotten thrush twice now and spread it to each other NOT FUN.
When he is doing the teeth thing. Take him off, tell him no, next time. Than wait for 2 minutes. Than tell him again no teeth. He will learn very quickly not to do that. It's what I do with my daughter. She is 29 months right now. It can be emotionally draining for you. It is for me, but I think about that I am giving the best for my daughter. Also I know that soon she will wean herself. Than I miss the days when I can nurse her.
Crap Breastfeeding Video - Because you hide your Breasts ? Women like you just do 'part' Breastfeeding. Dont be ashamed - we need to show the world that Breasts are NOT SEXUAL OBJECTS - they were made to BREASTFEED. Let's all defeat this stigma that surrounds our Breasts and show all our Breastfeeding Breasts.
@sherrysinclair I am okay w/ others doing that, I personally just don't like having my nipple and/or entire boob exposed, it makes me feel uncomfortable. Then again I feel uncomfortable in a bikini or even in shorts...I'm just modest.
@sherrysinclair Whether or not you want them to be, breasts are viewed by others as sexual and you can't change that. I don't think it's fair that you called it a "crap breastfeeding video" because she did what is best for her and her child. I will breastfeed and during that act, no, my breasts will not be sexual, but there are other times when they will be. She's just doing what she's supposed too - shifting roles when necessary.
Hi I have tandem nursed, I am a mom of four- the teeth thing used to drive me nuts! I suggest holding your breast in the "c hold" to give it more support, and get your son to position his body a little bit higher and also facing completely parallel to your body so that he does not get the backside of his teeth on the nipple. The teeth thing is also due to their latch getting a bit sloppy after about 1.5 years or so, have him open up as wide as he can to get the nipple as far back as possible.
@noelleann70 I tried doing the c-hold a few times & I noticed it didn't help but didn't fix it completely either. At Barnes & Noble on Saturday he was sitting next to me, facing the opposite direction & it didn't hurt at all, first time it's been like that. So that makes sense. Ty 4 the tips I really appreciate it!
I'm reading the other comments and I'm sad, but not surprised at some of the other comments. I'm so happy you're doing the best for your children! My son is also very insistent on showing EVERYTHING so we haven't NIP for almost a year. Hang in there!
Sweetie, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what you're doing. I so wish I could have done it for as long as you have. It's not an easy thing to do and you should be commended for it. It's hard to understand why people judge...It makes no sense why people aren't supportive of the best gift you can give your child besides love. I've seen women go to third world countries and breastfeed starving children...how amazing is that? The same negative people would probably think that was weird.
My sister in-law breastfed her daughter until she was 3 1/2 years old and when her daughter would use her teeth she would push her head in to her breast and tell her now. And she also would take her off every time and tell her now and then give it back to her. :)
i nursed for 9 months until my doctor said we needed to add formula b.c my daughter wanst getting enough- but she started getting teeth at 4.5 months and there was only a couple times where she used her teeth on me and it caught me off guard that i pulled back which caused her to unlatch and i said ouch pretty loud which scared the crap out of her and i said no no that hurts mommy and she never did it again- =) good luck!
I don't agree with this at ALL. I love UR vids & have been following U for a well. But this vid I would say is very wrong. He is waaaaaay too old to be nursing, girl. He needs to be drinking milk, actual milk from a cup.
@xxxjoelpolexxx He does not need cows milk. Don't be fooled God designed a Woman's body this way and we as woman need to accept that! We need to be more grateful that we have that privilege of bonding with our children in a way that even a father can't. It is AMAZING!! God is amazing. So for someone to say that children should just drink cows milk(after 1) is absurd and unnatural when you think about it..what they are really saying is that God made a mistake when he created Women.. ;)
@p8anut Kids do not need cows milk. And if she wants to breast feed Kacen still she is ALLOWED. There is nothing wrong with it! It's recommended that people nurse till age 2! Just because you find it wrong doesn't mean it is wrong.
@p8anut Do you mean milk, as in milk from another species? Ewww! Cow's milk is far less nutritious than his mother's milk. Like she said, he can eat and drink just like any other child.
As a side note: I have nothing against cow's milk, but was making a point how ridiculous it is to think breastfeeding is gross and suggest she be giving him cow's milk instead. ha
This is so precious! I'm still nursing my almost 10 month old and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I might just leave it up to her to see how long she wants to go. How long do you plan on nursing?
My 11 month old started biting sometimes and he would smile like he was being funny and I would tell him "no biting" and he would stop. I think he's learned he's not supposed to do it now but once in a while, the way he starts to latch, I'll get the teeth and it's very startling. Good for you ;0) - I think it's awesome that you're nursing both of them!!
We are at 23 months and it can be really difficult. Noah calls nursing " night night" So I try to tell people to say that to him..lol "You need to go Night night" Im screaming inside NOOOOO Don't say it..loL
I nursed until she was 2, she weened and I felt great that I was able to nurse her, until she was done. I think it is great that you are tandem nursing.
Kacen seems to be very attached to your breast. I hope it doesn't get more complicated with the new baby who will need to feed more and more. Kacen is very cuddly.
Thanks for this video! My son is almost 13 months old and i still BF him. Family have been giving me comments about it and how i should stop but my son is still very keen on it and i enjoy it. I believe in him self weaning. If i had another child and he was still BF, id sure give it a go at tandem nursing! Good luck with everything :)
@RylansMummy21 i want to breast feed my baby (when i have him or her) so I'm just gathering info on it... you said and YOU enjoy it.... shouldnt it be based off the child's needs ONLY and not your own? How do you keep from blurring those lines and not end up breast feeding for far too long???? What do you get out of it?
@kshad26 i also said he is still very keen on it, and the fact i enjoy it is a bonus because it keeps me wanting to do it for as long as he wants it. I wouldnt force him to BF. When hes ready he will self wean. I dont think you can BF for too long. Once you baby doesnt want it how do you force you baby to keep BF?? And what do i get out of it? an amazing bond with my son :) I BF beecause i chose to when he was born and now its all up to my son when we stop.

I was just wondering what you used (if anything) to cover you whilst breastfeeding your babies in public. Ive been trying to find something I can use once I have my baby:)
I feel that beyond 2 years old is too old to Breastfeed, especially the way you describe he demands it :(
Just a question!! Why do you insist on NOT breastfeeding in public... You said you like to be discreet!!! then why do you put yourself on the internet breastfeeding? You don't need to prove to the world you are breastfeeding!!! We believe you :) BTW!! I usually love your posts... I don't always disagree with you :)

@Mommy0ftw0 yes. lots of moms do. if he wont from breast, try in a cup. he may no longer like the taste but most are okay w/ it.

Then i only wanted my mother maybe once or twice a week, and it slowly cut down.
c5rep0rter 2 months ago
Well done for showing a great example of mothering! I tandem nursed my daughter and son, she was almost 2 when he was born and I tried weaning her during pregnancy but she still felt she needed it even when I think there was no milk. After the birth I tried to make sure the baby came first and nursed both around 3Xdaily. He will still need a lot of attention when he weans and it will still be demanding. You are a great example!
darcellee 2 months ago

He can get all the benefits from other foods now and soon he will be going to pre K shame on you
Babybluesome 3 months ago
@Babybluesome really?! Do your research because you are one of the dumbest person I have come across!! I'm sure that you do not know all the benefits of extended breastfeeding otherwise you wouldn't say such dumb things. Also a Pacifier is a piece of plastic that imitates a real nipple. It does not hold your child, nurture your child - it most likely leaches toxic chemicals into their body!
eva0natural 2 months ago
Such a good mom! I have a 16 month old and she is still breastfeeding. It is sad that some parents don't realize the benefits of extended breastfeeding. Maybe if they would do a little research they wouldn't be so critical. At one time I swore I would never breastfeed because no one in my family did they when I got older I changed my mind. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Especially for my daughter. Keep up the good work.

not at all saying there is anything wrong with what u are doing, I just have a question. Why not just pump at this age?
kbella007 4 months ago
@kbella007 I do pump as well, but sometimes it's the act of breastfeeding, being close, etc. It's easier, more sanitary & you don't always have a pump on hand, but msot of all even at this age it's still natural via tap.
xxxjoelpolexxx 4 months ago
@xxxjoelpolexxx No that's just your need to feel needed. If he can remember sucking on your breast, that is unhealthy, and you're a creep. "Being close", or rather "my issues of wanting my son to be too attached to me". Be responsible and stop molesting your son. Natural my ass. It's natural at 6 months, maybe 1, not after 2.

I say he doesn't need to brest feed because is talking and should be on solid foods or formula. what is the little guy going to say when he's three I want something to eat but I like tit better. This is why kids are so soft these days mothers just give in to what their kids wants.
hawkkins562 4 months ago
@hawkkins562 Formula over breastmilk? Seriously? Also my children started talking around 5-6 months so that means I should I have quit nursing there? Most kids start solids around 4-6 months so again I should have quit nursing then? A MINIMUM OF 12 MONTHS is the bare minimum on how long a child should be nursed. Most dont wean till 2-4 years of age. Kids are so "off" b/c of ignorant folks like you breading...
xxxjoelpolexxx 4 months ago 19
@xxxjoelpolexxx the pediatrician specifically told my gf to start adding in formula to get the other vitamins like D that arent found in breast milk. that or you could add supplements for your child but its easier to go back and forth with formula and breast milk. we even used breast milk as the liquid to mix the formula to get all the nutrients
davidpenwell1987 4 months ago
@davidpenwell1987 The child could have simply spent a little more time outside to get more Vitamin D w/ out formula.
xxxjoelpolexxx 4 months ago 3
@davidpenwell1987 The only Vitamin that breast milk is lacking is Vit D which it is recommended that all breastfed babies get 400iu/day. D drops allow you to give one little drop on your nipple or pacifier....simple and easy. Breast milk otherwise is far superior to formula...that physician definitely did not give your gf the facts or good advice....which is sad.

I think what you are doing for your kids is wonderful. I tried to BF my youngest daughter bu the latch was all wrong and it was very painful for me. :)
nicolelennon1 6 months ago
I don't know if anyone has said this or not because you have a lot of comments on your video so if they have then I am sorry but I heard that a child's palate will change over time so they will no longer be able to have the proper latch needing for nursing and at that time they will be able to suck but they won't be able to manipulate the boob properly to get milk out of it. Some mothers will nurse their child until that happens, hopefully i will be able to do extended BF with my son
tilly3520 6 months ago
It's sad how people are so stuck in thir ways. More worried about what other people will think of them and their child if they breastfeed over a certain age. Just because it isn't the norm in their life doesn't mean that it should be the same for everyone else. If it isn't hurting anyone and is healthy and might i mention FREE!! Then the more power to those who choose to breastfeed. My mother breastfeed me until 2, and i think it did me some good! lol and im not embarrised or ashamed.

cami805 7 months ago
@cami805 A mother to a 5 month old baby who doesn't feel comfortable nursing her child in public & has to tell him/her no teeth as they're cutting their teeth is a sign that their child is too old? You realize now how that makes no sense right?!?! Aside from the the fact that TWO is NORMAL that is probably why people would "jump all" over you for that comment.
xxxjoelpolexxx 7 months ago
@cami805 it is kinda rude that you have such a rude opinion towards something that has nothing to do with you.. i am sure she was asking for positive comments not comments that put her parenting down... castlesuzie 7 months ago
@castlesuzie seems like what he is doing but its just confusing to me as he wants to nurse & does often
xxxjoelpolexxx 7 months ago
@xxxjoelpolexxx Okay so I'm going to clarify this. I was frustrated cause I couldn't remember exactly what the "growing out" stage was. But anyway, I guess a child has "milk teeth", aka baby teeth, and when they lose them, or their jaw starts to grow, they lose the ability to suckle since the shape of their jaw changes. From what i've read, Kacen is still to young, 2 is still way appropriate to breastfeed, but maybe it's been because he's been using bottles/cups to drink pumped milk?
castlesuzie 7 months ago
@castlesuzie He's never had a bottle/nipple, but he does drink out of the bottle like a cup (just b/c it's a perfect grip for his hands & I don't have to dirty up an actual cup, lol) although he's been using cups for over a year. So
xxxjoelpolexxx 7 months ago
Does Kacen ever take away any of the supply that is used for the baby? Just curious. I am breastfeeding my one month old who was born the day after urs was and I was wondering if u ever worry about the baby not getting enough because Kacen might drink it all? I am in the same boat with the weird toddler latch, my 27 month old is still nursing along with my 6 month old. He started using his top teeth after his sister was born, I think it was because he did forget a little (we didn't nurse much through my last month of pg) I did the same thing and take him off when it gets uncomfortable. And just a little tip, rinse your nip after feeding one then the other because my kids have gotten thrush twice now and spread it to each other NOT FUN.

Let's all defeat this stigma that surrounds our Breasts and show all our Breastfeeding Breasts.
sherrysinclair 7 months ago
@sherrysinclair I am okay w/ others doing that, I personally just don't like having my nipple and/or entire boob exposed, it makes me feel uncomfortable. Then again I feel uncomfortable in a bikini or even in shorts...I'm just modest.
xxxjoelpolexxx 7 months ago
@sherrysinclair Whether or not you want them to be, breasts are viewed by others as sexual and you can't change that. I don't think it's fair that you called it a "crap breastfeeding video" because she did what is best for her and her child. I will breastfeed and during that act, no, my breasts will not be sexual, but there are other times when they will be. She's just doing what she's supposed too - shifting roles when necessary.
VegetarianWifey 7 months ago
Hi I have tandem nursed, I am a mom of four- the teeth thing used to drive me nuts! I suggest holding your breast in the "c hold" to give it more support, and get your son to position his body a little bit higher and also facing completely parallel to your body so that he does not get the backside of his teeth on the nipple. The teeth thing is also due to their latch getting a bit sloppy after about 1.5 years or so, have him open up as wide as he can to get the nipple as far back as possible.
noelleann70 7 months ago
@noelleann70 I tried doing the c-hold a few times & I noticed it didn't help but didn't fix it completely either. At Barnes & Noble on Saturday he was sitting next to me, facing the opposite direction & it didn't hurt at all, first time it's been like that. So that makes sense. Ty 4 the tips I really appreciate it!

@p8anut He does drink milk from a cup, my milk. Why does he "NEED" cows milk? What advantages does cows milk have over his mother's milk...?
xxxjoelpolexxx 7 months ago
@xxxjoelpolexxx He does not need cows milk. Don't be fooled God designed a Woman's body this way and we as woman need to accept that! We need to be more grateful that we have that privilege of bonding with our children in a way that even a father can't. It is AMAZING!! God is amazing. So for someone to say that children should just drink cows milk(after 1) is absurd and unnatural when you think about it..what they are really saying is that God made a mistake when he created Women.. ;)

@p8anut Do you mean milk, as in milk from another species? Ewww! Cow's milk is far less nutritious than his mother's milk. Like she said, he can eat and drink just like any other child.
