The song was a number one hit in 1962 wheras the girl was pictured in 1964, quite obviously not written about her in 62, otherwiseshe would be pictured in 62.

I am becoming as confused as you are over this. The song was a hit in 1962, but may not have been written about anyone in particular. Only Joe Brown could clear this up for you, or the songwriter, if Joe didn't write it. The video was added much later and, as has alredy been said, it was an apt track to play alongside a pretty face.
