I think I am with you on this. The singer is great mostly, hits some "choice" notes and the energy of the band is pretty good. It's just the drummers groove is needing work. Most prominently is during the pre chorus where the kick is on the one and the 3rd 16th after, the 16th is really late making the snare on the 2 and 4 almost flam with it.
That said, there's some good double kick phrasing later in the tune over the solo...
Have I analysed this too much... need to get a hobby me thinks!! LOL
Joe Satriani was played 5150 in a concert with the G3 but that version is an instrumental piece, the sound it's a lot more clear and It was recorded probably around 2003/2004.
So It would as well be totally unrelated to Stach.
Also as far as this recording in particular it's not Guns'N Roses or Axl Rose or anithing related to them, is a covers band, there is this song Dance Tonight Away that I know of and it has been around at least from 2001.
The band is named Charge. They covered a lot of groups. Don't know if they are still around. This recording has been circulating around the internet for at least 9 years, if not longer. I remember it being on Napster back when Napster was still fairly new.
When I downloaded this song it had a label of "Joe Satriani and Axl Rose "5150" Private Concert". Maybe it is Sammy playing with Axl singing (why?!?) because Hagar did have Axl to the Wabo around '02 and he was quoted as saying "Axl was so winded after the first 30 seconds." At the end, when you hear a voice say "alright" after the music ends, to me, that doesn't sound like Axl, it's NOT Sammy, but it does sound like Satriani's voice. I am 50/50 on whether this is Satch playing now. Sorry.
well...it can be axEl rose... but it certainely isnt AXL ROSE from guns n roses ;)

Charge has nice songs. I've liked what I've seen from them so far.
They have skill and they have original feelings in their songs.

The guitar is great, the drums SUCK. This guy can't hold it down if you nailed his feet to the floor. Totally out of the grove.
