I used to watch this episode as a teen upstairs on a secret tv in my bedroom, then when I was 17 I ran away from home, when this program came on I got so overwhelmed and homesick, this music is haunting
Can anyone tell me the piece of music they used to introduce Star Hustler? it sounds to me like a Tomita version of a Debussy piece but I can't identify it
Thank you Jack for introducing us to the universe. Rest in peace, I think you are among the stars you loved so much. We will not be without you as long as we remember to "keep looking up!"
Wow! This video (and others that you've uploaded) bring back so many memories. Staying up late to watch the Star Hustler was a big deal growing up. Thank you for sharing this video, and the others as well!
I remember watching this and many more fine episodes on PBS 17, every Friday night just before PBS signed off. It was a nice way to say "Good Night" to all the viewrs and to remember to "keep looking up."
The recording of the U.S. "SSB" is same as used for the montage of pictures of Founding Fathers as seen on sign-ons and -offs of WLS-TV in Chicago from at least the 1970's into the '80's, as well as sign-ons of WABC-TV in New York as of the 1980's.
Hmm...Didn't know WPBT Channel 2 of Miami, Florida could be played in Buffalo, New York. Interesting...

I saw them performing both the American and Canadian national anthems while watching on TV a Canucks vs. Bruins hockey game.

Erghh, what was that freaky ending harpsi-chord on the Beeb '74 credits?
I have and old VHS with Jack talking about Jupiter, '86 or '87. Some of you remember that one, I'd bet.

@El135o It's the theme to the Lord Peter Wimsey series. The credits were from the first episode of 'The Nine Tailors'.
Search YT for 'nine tailors part five' and you can see the full credits at the end.
