  • southwest rules!!!

  • @wdburley1963 Your father is your brother, your sister is your mother, you all love one another, the Bristol, Exeter, Cornwall family.

  • People in Leeds don't say 'T' for 'the' they just miss out the word.

  • I love his litle giggles ^_^ He's perfect!

  • look at frankie boyle at the end.....he friggin HATES him! :O lol

  • @corpalcorn what wardrobe?... t' comdey wardrobe :P hahahahah

  • I'm from near Yorkshire and from my experience, people don't actually say 't' for 'the'; they simply miss it out all together. It would be; 'Lion, Witch an' Wardrobe' rather than 't' Lion, t' Witch and t' Wardrobe'. In 'Going down t' shops', the 't' is short for 'to' and the 'the' is again missed out altogether. This clip is still very funny.

  • @Oley31 I agree, we say it on the of the previous word, like "Liont Witch andt Wardrobe" :L

  • Theres actually a lot more poverty in the south and the richest county in england (cheshire) is up north, just saying like.

  • Comment removed

  • @Liam2621 Alot more poverty in the South? That is absolute nonsense. I just don't understand why you would make something like that up? Surrey is the richest county followed by WIltshire. I'm from Manchester and some parts of Cheshire are pretty bad much, worse than some of the worse parts of the South (Where I have also resided)

  • @Kirkkoman Some parts of surrey are awful, there are more poor areas in london than the whole north west.

  • @Liam2621 I don't know why you seem to get a kick out of this but statistically this is far from the truth.

  • @Kirkkoman hahaha i agree, 'more poverty in the south' --> what absolute bollocks!

  • @Liam2621 Course there is darling, now go and lie down.

  • @TruthandJusticeUK the poorest seven boroughs in england are in london.

  • @Liam2621

    yea, they lack value

  • @Liam2621 Yes, just saying something... wrong.

  • @Liam2621 lol if you say so

  • @lilsi93 look it up, londons a shithole with a few nice buildings in the centre.

  • @lilsi93 I'm sorry if that guy pissed you of but it's the truth.

P.S I didn't say that becasue where i live because i don't even live in england. I'm just smart enough to know more than you.

  • @Ellis01234567890 wtf are you talking about?

  • @lilsi93 thankyou for proving my point

  • @Ellis01234567890 ok mate .....

  • I am from the Souf. Have yew noticed? ;D

  • Eee, put 't wood in 't 'ole!

  • mr mcintyre is the most overrated comedian in the uk , the bbc love him though as he is safe tv.

  • boyle shakin his head there

  • are you taking t'piss

  • before he went big and this was all i'd seen him on, this made me wee a bit

  • im from yorkshire, but i dont speak like that lol, although what is this 'The' word you speak of? ;)

  • i don't think Frankie was impressed my Michael

  • t' lion t' with and t' wardrobe, t' bad and t' ugly and t' t' Hilariouss!

  • To me "t'lion, t'witch n t'wardrobe" means "To the lion, to the witch and to the wardrobe".

  • Nice try.... only put t' when going t'somewhere e.g. t'cinema to see lion witch and wardrobe.

  • He's close... it's 'Lion, 'Witch an' Wardrobe :P

  • "I went to the cinemarrrrrrr" Love Michael McIntyre :) <3

  • LEGEND!!

  • I'm from Manchesta an a speek lik day all da teem lol

  • I'm from Derbyshire and to me it sounds like he's saying "To the lion, to the witch and to the wardrobe" :< still love him though :)

  • @lucylikeslollies They're comedians, they don't have to clap. Russell Howard is a legend too, he probably found it funny.

  • omg michael mcintyre is hilarious! i love this sketch lol i dont know why the other comedians look so hostile and impatient - look at russel howard at 1:28 hes not even clapping! their all just jealous because michael mcintyre is a legend!

  • @lucylikeslollies at 0:54 he's clapping on his leg though, I quite agree though, Michael McIntyre is a legend!

  • COLNE!

  • Genius!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!

  • Frankie Boyle is in the "Where are they now file....

  • THANKS SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THIS UP

  • I've just moved from the midlands to the north and this is so fucking true and so fucking funny!

  • "I am from the South, have you noticed?" legend x

  • Hes right, i'm from the north and the word 'the' is missing from some things like i say "t'other one" and "t'internet" but i have to say "are you taking t'piss" has never come out of my mouth:L lol hes very funny though:)

  • I'm from Yorkshire, and I agree with "the" is missing from alot of things. However its more like we'd say "lion, witch n, wardrobe" rather then that weird sound that came from his mouth lol

  • My other half and in-laws are all from North Yorkshire and none of them, nor their friends, speak like that. In fact, they all pronounce "the" clearer than I do!

  • it depends where you are in yorkshire tbh. like some areas are much more common like doncaster, like say "i'm just guin t' shop" but i hate it so i don't mind people taking the piss coz i do :L

  • i say " Im going t shop, dya wan ewt" thats how i say it!

  • @ThePNEFC where r u from? i'm from stoke on trent and i say that too!!!!!!!!!! i hardly ever use the word "the" except when i write

  • im from preston. :D ye same..

  • @ThePNEFC yay me too

  • @barrychuckle1411 you too what?

  • @barrychuckle1411 Sorry, should have referred to your last comment. Im from Preston as well

  • @ThePNEFC i say that aswell! :L

  • i've always admired improv comedians because they come up with funny stuff like this off the top of their heads. plus michael mcintyre is just EPIC :L

  • You actually think anything on Mock The Week comes off the top of their heads? They are given the questions and topics about a day before so they have time to think of "witty" replies.

The problem with this section is that it's a bollocks misconception that southern comics constantly get wrong. The "t" sound is merely implied and the word "the" is missed out. That's why McIntyre is shit, if you're going to have your entire act based on observations at least get your fucking references correct.

  • @doosher what is your PROBLEM! The things they say are sometimes exaggerated, but that's part of what makes it funny. i've never seen mock the week before, and thought it was based on improv. Excuse me for making an honest mistake, i mean, it's not like your perfect is it?

  • @doosher mcintyre is not bad, its your opinion but who cares what you think, alot of people like him so don't take the piss out of him you asshole,

  • @doosher woah, peace and love peace and love people. Actually i'm a northerner ish (i come from stoke on trent) and actually i both imply the t sound and actually say the t. (anyone else notice i use actually too much lol)

  • I'm Scottish and I can fairly say my accent would be clearer than those in the north.

  • yo im canadian- is this real? do people really talk like that?

  • @Jeiaga Yeah we do.

  • @Jeiaga Some parts of northern England talk like this, but not all. It's a bit like the stereotype of Canadians saying 'Ay', or those pesky colonials in 'America' saying 'yeeeehaaaa!'.

When will the US bow to its British masters!??!!

  • this makes me piss myself everytime :L

  • Lol I'm from Yorkshire and thankfully I don't speak like that and can't think of anyone I know who does lol

  • that is actually the only funny thing ive heard him say... and fucking hell i PISSED myself laughing at it :L

  • lol im from west yorkshire and i actually find it funny when he takes the mick out of our accent
