Why can't cultures live side by side - they have done for millennia - I agree with you in that multi-culturalism as a discourse to racial harmony is perhaps flawed in its current format, but what's the alternative, the mass dictate to those that wish to hold alternative views; about history, immigration about reality essentially. I am not against immigration per se; I think the level of immigration to this country is unprecedented in its quantity and rate and is bound to cause tensions. This is white supremacy. It keeps the elite white and the lower classes remain as people of colour which keeps the control levels as they currently are. There are anomalys within this, but they really are a small minority. Just look at the students at all of the high uni's and you can see what I'm talking about

You seem to be assuming that there is an equal number of black and white people in this country. Living in London can mean that you forget that the overwhelming majority of people in this country are white. In the rural area where I live, the demography is 100% white. Stop playing the race card. The whole education system in the West is based upon white supremacy. The very fact that poor students from as early on as primary school are given access only to the worst schools, the poorest schools with the least support availiable shows this. Perhaps I should clarify then. SOAS and SOAS Students' Union enjoy nurturing the victim mentality in minority students. While racism certainly does exist in the country, SOAS itself is among the most racially diverse institutions in the country and it can hardly be said that racism exists within SOAS, other than between different minorities. Therefore this guy is USING race (rather like Lee Jasper) to defend and advance himself. SOAS encourages this, and here you can see it backfiring.

Ok I hear what your saying and in someways I agree - however, just because SOAS is racially diverse, does not mean racism does not exist there.

I take it your a previous student, like myself - The level of academic racism I found within my classes, run by White Europeans, not other minorities, was absolutely incredible. I would leave many classes utterly amazed at the level of ignorance and blatant discrimination that took place. Though I agree to an extent with the victim mentality it creates
