@Heartlesswithaheart You're right. The ending of the second one was the Cliffhanger of all cliffhangers. There WILL be another Boondock Saints. The question is... when? I personally can't wait.

@lilkevo00 I'm sorry, did either of us ask for your commentary? no? I didn't think so. I had dropped the subject and so had Mchemsquatch, so why would you feel the need to add your [unwanted] two-cents?
Yes I would be this rude because I don't beat around bushes. I don't care about your personal life. And until you completely fulfill your scholarship obligations it is pending. Good luck in school and make something of yourself, live a life worth putting your name on.
@Mchermsquatch oddly enough, this has been fun. Its rare to find someone i can have a good argument with, even online. Sorry about the religious bastard thing, I got a little caught up ^^;
Hahaha you're successful? A pending scholarship, and a truck is a far cry from successful. You think you know shit but you don't. When you get out from under the protection of your family and have to fend for yourself you'll get it. I've seen the best and worst of humanity so stop trying to one up me. Good luck in life kid, may you live a long and meaningful life.
@Mchermsquatch 1) its not pending. I have the scholarship. 2) I've been raising myself for 8 years and working for the last 4. I clean, get the groceries and I made sure my brother got his GED, because he couldn't make himself finish after what he went through when mom died. My dads a drunkard and we live off of welfare and yet, I'm still not trying to "one-up" you. I'm just saying you should stop being so condescending and rude, even online. Would you say anything you said to me to my face?
Hahaha I love it when little bitches like you make threats online. I really hope I never run into you, you seem like a real bad ass, hahaha. Don't make threats you can't back up kid. Now make sure to drink your milk so you can grow up big and strong. Hahaha YouTube threats? Your mommy would be so proud of how tough her son grew up to be. Hahaha you are a bitch kid.
@Mchermsquatch why is it that because I am successful, you assume I'm a boy?, and what threats did i make? or are you insulting the intelligence of some other teen somewhere on here?
Just as I thought. You're just a child. Have your mommy drive you to the library and do some research, you know that thing when you read a book to find information... I graduated 6 years ago with high marks, since then been around the world and to war in the military so don't fool yourself into thinking that youre talking to an idiot. Read a book kid, and congrats on the scholarship.
@Mchermsquatch 1) 16 means i have a truck and a license 2) why don't you look it up. I did, in a LATIN-ENGLISH DICTIONARY. Don't fool yourself into thinking that just because I'm a "child" I'm stupid. I had to grow up fast and I've been taking care of myself, my brother and my dad since my mom died. I lost three cousins last year in Iraq. Don't talk down to me. Don't act superior to someone you don't know, even online. You never know what kind of hole you'll dig yourself into.
Because I'm Catholic I'm well aware of thousands of years of tradition and doctrine. 22 years of Catholicism under my belt, so if you ever graduate highschool and get an actual education you too will understand. You are wrong and your Latin teacher is a dumbass. Grow up kid you can't be right all the time. If I were you (and I'm glad I'm not) I would look into a different school to save what's left of your little brain.
@Mchermsquatch typical Catholic attitude : I'm right because of my religion and you're wrong, so everyone who agrees with you is wrong too.
Fili as they say it in the prayer, means daughter. Fil means son. Spiritus means breath. Sancti means Sanctify. Try learning the language before you assume you're right.
and FYI, I'm graduating this year. I doubt you graduated high school and had a scholarship lined up for the university of Pittsburgh when you were 16, you religious bastard
"And shepherds we shall be, for thee my lord for thee. power hath descended forth from thy hand, that or feet may swiftly carry out thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine et Patri et Filii. Spiritus Sancti." Long live Connor and Murphy Mcmanus
spiritus sancti= holy spirit, holy ghost, whatever the translation is to enlgish. I know that cause always say this in Dutch: In de naam van de vader, de zoon, en de heilige geest. Amen. geest=spirit/ghost. Spirutus=ghost. So must be the same
@evike4ever no, it mustn't. this is Latin, not Dutch. there are dynamics to Latin not found in modern languages. don't assume. it makes you look like an idiot.
I am right because I am Catholic and say this at least 52 times a year. Your latin teacher needs to go back to school. The Irish part was referring to the dynamics of Irish brothers. So just go learn Latin incorrectly and let the grown ups talk.
@Mchermsquatch just because you're catholic, doesn't mean you speak Latin. The ending comes from a Celtic prayer that was adapted from Gaelic into Latin and then into English. Translated literally, it means In The Name Of the Father and Daughter Breath to Sanctify, but it has come to mean In the Name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. I seriously doubt that you can speak two dead languages, like my teacher can, so stop making an idiot out of yourself.
@lavaheadlvr1369 Oh, well alright. Haha, I won't argue. Lmao, I just think In the name of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit fits better. But regardless, thanks for the translation. I am Irish too! Just thought I'd throw that out there!
@SeaJayRiley Over the years, people came to recognize it as "In the Name of the Fater the Son and the Holy Spirit". but son is fil in latin, not filii. so that alone pretty much nulls the usual translation.
@lavaheadlvr1369 I speak a little spanish. Haha, but then again, just about everyone does. Haha. That is awesome that you speak french man! Can you type it though? Excuse my ignorance if their letters look different. But I just want to see a basic french sentence.
didn't you just use a translator for this? when i use a latin to english translator i'm getting "In the name of the father and daughter and breath to sanctify" But this wouldn't make any sense now would it? rofl
@timen1986 no, I asked the Latin teacher at my school. The prayer is recognized as your traditional "in the name of the father" prayer, but it is from a Celtic prayer that was translated into Latin form Gaelic, then English from Latin.
i used many online translations, i did the complete sentence and i did it word by word on multiple websites and the all say: "In The Name Of The Father And Daughter and Breath To Sanctify"... Kinda weird, because you would expect the normal holy father ending... :)
et filii means the daughter. so i think he is correct about the translation. To me, it doesn't make any sense at all. "In the name of the Father , and Daughter , and Breath To sanctify" but this is the translation! no doubt about it!
@timen1986 spiritus sancti= holy spirit, holy ghost, whatever the translation is to enlgish. I know that cause always say this in Dutch: In de naam van de vader, de zoon, en de heilige geest. Amen. geest=spirit/ghost. Spirutus=ghost. So must be the same.
@Thatitaliano well typically Catholics end a prayer by saying "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." I am Catholic so I do not know how other Christian groups close their prayers but i would think it would be directed more towards Catholic, especially since the brothers in the movie are Irish and most likely Catholic.
@motleycrue5178 Oh. okay. I personally think It is a tradition of the catholic religion, but i do believe that it could also be used in a christian, morman, ect. (whatever religion worships god jesus and the holy spirit) prayer because it is still worshiping god. And btw, I personally think the brothers are catholic, judging by the cathilic church that they wer in at the beginning of the movie.
@Thatitaliano catholics are Christians. where do you think the Protestant church came from?
and yes the brothers are catholic. they are Irish, brought up in an Irish neighborhood. and traditional the Irish are catholics. but the Irish from northern Ireland are Protestants thanks to that bastard Cromwell and the rest of the English.
@drstrangeman Well there are a couple of diffrences between Catholic and Christian. My entire family was catholic but I turned to christian. In the catholic religion you are not forgiven of your sins more than once. So if you sin, you must confess. In the christian religion you are forgiven for whatever you do. As long as you ask for his forgivness. ect. but overall there is no right or wrong religion. It is what you believe. and lol about the last part.
@Thatitaliano no catholicism is Christianity. the prodistant church broke away from the catholic church cuz of the five solas and the selling of indulgence. the core belifes are the same damn thing. if any it'd be better to be orthadox rather than roman catholic. cuz that way you ain't dealing with the popes and stupid people...
ok now we can agree on the past. no as far as being a christian goes. if ya belive in jesus (btw thats not how his name was truely spelled or pronounced.) and follow your faith well your a gorram christian now if your just sittin on your ass and followin doctrin...well if this is the case then happy miss sunshine i've got some bad news for ya. your just following a stupid git sittin on his throne in rome who just so happens to be wearing a badass hat. this is where religion gets complecated.
@drstrangeman I do gotta ask, where do you think kids come up with "reasons youll go to hell" its not a big thing for adults, but when we were kids, it was all over. Flip someone the bird and it means you hate God. Cross youyr arms over your chest and it means you want to die and you hate God. Step on a dead persons name (scratched on the friggin sidewalk with a rock) you go straight to hell, For a few examples, i mean honestly where do kids get it?
@kaldicuct well like with all religons there are people that take it to an extreme and inflict it on kids. and kids inflict it on eachother. and it becomes a whole thing of it's own...then the ids grow up and realize it's all bullshit. and the smartest of them all realize that no religon has it right...
@drstrangeman agreed, my veiw personally is yes im christian, im not going to force it on you. and in return dont force anything on me. if you want to have a conversation about religion, sure, fine. hell, im also wiccan in many regards. and i personally think many religions are the same thing. an all knowing all loving father in a paradice reserved for after life. allah, god, oden, etc. there may be other gods but even in the christian faith its the archangels and archdemons. just translate it
@Thatitaliano well typically Catholics end a prayer by saying "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." I am Catholic so I do not know how other Christian groups close their prayers but i would think it would be directed more towards Catholic, especially since the brothers in the movie are Irish and most likely Catholic.
I got tickets to the March 11th showing of Boondock Saints on the big screen! One time deal people so find out if it is showing in your town and buy tickets today!
yeah ok i admit it, i didnt see the movie b4 i posted. but i was part-right. saying that willem defoe is on the movie is like saying that Q is on james bond, for about 1-2 mins of the whole movie. what is does tattooes on their fingers: veritas, aequitas?
looking at this makes me think of diablo, strangely... LOVE the movie and i hope the sequel doesnt ruin it. But why was willem defoe not in the sequel?
this movie is so fucking kick ass i loved it and then it went mainstreem and now theres a sequal coming out right? idk if its gonna be any good but ima see it anyway
@halofreeeek5 go watch it, i have it and i am trying to figure how to put it up here. Its just as hella funny as this one. "They sent me here because i am smart. So smart, i make smart people...... feel retarded"
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
how does it mean alot to you its not a real prayer, they even say in the movie its there family prayer and guess what there not real, im irish too and know this
Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you. Oscar Wilde quotes (Irish Poet, Novelist, Dramatist and Critic, 1854-1900)

@lavaheadlvr1369
didn't you just use a translator for this? when i use a latin to english translator i'm getting "In the name of the father and daughter and breath to sanctify" But this wouldn't make any sense now would it? rofl
timen1986 1 year ago
@timen1986 no, I asked the Latin teacher at my school. The prayer is recognized as your traditional "in the name of the father" prayer, but it is from a Celtic prayer that was translated into Latin form Gaelic, then English from Latin.
lavaheadlvr1369 1 year ago
i think you are right about it :)
i used many online translations, i did the complete sentence and i did it word by word on multiple websites and the all say: "In The Name Of The Father And Daughter and Breath To Sanctify"... Kinda weird, because you would expect the normal holy father ending... :)
timen1986 1 year ago
@chgysb No it doesnt. its father son and holy spirit. where do you get you get your translations from?

@taylorsucks666 no, you're wrong. it means In The Name Of The Father And Daughter, Breath To Sanctify.
Trust me, I asked the Latin teacher at my school.
lavaheadlvr1369 1 year ago
@taylorsucks666
et filii means the daughter. so i think he is correct about the translation. To me, it doesn't make any sense at all. "In the name of the Father , and Daughter , and Breath To sanctify" but this is the translation! no doubt about it!
timen1986 1 year ago
@timen1986 spiritus sancti= holy spirit, holy ghost, whatever the translation is to enlgish. I know that cause always say this in Dutch: In de naam van de vader, de zoon, en de heilige geest. Amen. geest=spirit/ghost. Spirutus=ghost. So must be the same.

in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. How you end a Catholic prayer
motleycrue5178 1 year ago 12
@motleycrue5178 is that only for catholic or can it also be a christian prayer
Thatitaliano 1 year ago
@Thatitaliano well typically Catholics end a prayer by saying "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." I am Catholic so I do not know how other Christian groups close their prayers but i would think it would be directed more towards Catholic, especially since the brothers in the movie are Irish and most likely Catholic.
motleycrue5178 1 year ago
@motleycrue5178 Oh. okay. I personally think It is a tradition of the catholic religion, but i do believe that it could also be used in a christian, morman, ect. (whatever religion worships god jesus and the holy spirit) prayer because it is still worshiping god. And btw, I personally think the brothers are catholic, judging by the cathilic church that they wer in at the beginning of the movie.
Thatitaliano 1 year ago
@Thatitaliano catholics are Christians. where do you think the Protestant church came from?
and yes the brothers are catholic. they are Irish, brought up in an Irish neighborhood. and traditional the Irish are catholics. but the Irish from northern Ireland are Protestants thanks to that bastard Cromwell and the rest of the English.
drstrangeman 1 year ago
@drstrangeman Well there are a couple of diffrences between Catholic and Christian. My entire family was catholic but I turned to christian. In the catholic religion you are not forgiven of your sins more than once. So if you sin, you must confess. In the christian religion you are forgiven for whatever you do. As long as you ask for his forgivness. ect. but overall there is no right or wrong religion. It is what you believe. and lol about the last part.
Thatitaliano 1 year ago
@Thatitaliano no catholicism is Christianity. the prodistant church broke away from the catholic church cuz of the five solas and the selling of indulgence. the core belifes are the same damn thing. if any it'd be better to be orthadox rather than roman catholic. cuz that way you ain't dealing with the popes and stupid people...
drstrangeman 1 year ago
@drstrangeman true...
Thatitaliano 1 year ago
ok now we can agree on the past. no as far as being a christian goes. if ya belive in jesus (btw thats not how his name was truely spelled or pronounced.) and follow your faith well your a gorram christian now if your just sittin on your ass and followin doctrin...well if this is the case then happy miss sunshine i've got some bad news for ya. your just following a stupid git sittin on his throne in rome who just so happens to be wearing a badass hat. this is where religion gets complecated.
drstrangeman 1 year ago
@drstrangeman Ive always said, christian is christian, why split hairs?
kaldicuct 1 year ago
@kaldicuct that's kinda my point. it's just it gets so vexing when people mistake a sect of a religon and say it's something else.
drstrangeman 1 year ago
@drstrangeman I do gotta ask, where do you think kids come up with "reasons youll go to hell" its not a big thing for adults, but when we were kids, it was all over. Flip someone the bird and it means you hate God. Cross youyr arms over your chest and it means you want to die and you hate God. Step on a dead persons name (scratched on the friggin sidewalk with a rock) you go straight to hell, For a few examples, i mean honestly where do kids get it?
kaldicuct 1 year ago
@kaldicuct well like with all religons there are people that take it to an extreme and inflict it on kids. and kids inflict it on eachother. and it becomes a whole thing of it's own...then the ids grow up and realize it's all bullshit. and the smartest of them all realize that no religon has it right...
drstrangeman 1 year ago
@drstrangeman agreed, my veiw personally is yes im christian, im not going to force it on you. and in return dont force anything on me. if you want to have a conversation about religion, sure, fine. hell, im also wiccan in many regards. and i personally think many religions are the same thing. an all knowing all loving father in a paradice reserved for after life. allah, god, oden, etc. there may be other gods but even in the christian faith its the archangels and archdemons. just translate it

And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

can ones soul be irish?
