There's Minis new made in the USA by the ministore for around 48000 with sails and everything. Remember, these are not little daysailers, they are high-performance shorthanded machines. I'm going to buy one and then work on the existing Mini class in the US.
I've looked at several of these Minni Transat boats now, and they all seem a bit skiddish to me. I don't know if I'd want to sail 3000 miles or so in one. I bet there is a way to compensate for it though.

That is interesting. What is the brand-name ? I can strongly recommend to by a POGO-2 for beginners the best choice...

QUESTIONS!
DO you use an auto helm when solo-ing?
How do you power it - is solar enough?
sprothan2 4 years ago
Yes, autohelm. And power via solar and generator.
largethomas 4 years ago
Yes auto helm is crucial.
I think Wind Generators are used on long trips as well as solar.

Its a fun-boat. Extreme fast and wet to sail. But you need to be a very experienced offshore sailor to go across the Atlantic.
cleotheobeo 4 years ago
Yes, lots of experience and money too. I was just thinking that a small canard type wing/keel infront of main keel would reduce yawing.

how much would they be?
