@Mgmdude1997 The port should be facing either side, doesn't matter which. As far a it not shooting bb's on full-auto, the problem is not the port. If you mean "not shooting bb's" as in the gun fires, but nothing comes out the barrel, you have a cycling problem. I would lubricate the inside of the mag through the feeding port. But if you mean that the gun plainly isn't doing anything on auto, you have a cut-off lever or wiring problem, likely. I'd get them replaced. It's not too expensive.

@GamerKing112 what brand M4? is there a window where you can see the main spring or is it enclosed ? if it's enclosed you can use most v2 gearboxes without modding. if it's a folding receiver, it requires a windowed (ported) gearbox (not to be confused with cylinder porting). the window allows the upper receiver to close completely. a non-windowed gearbox will prevent the upper receiver from closing.

@carbongraphi and the lithium grease doesnt make anything easier. i say buy a preassembled (quality) mechbox and never have to open up the stupid thing again. now when matrix or whoever comes out with a vise that holds the spring compressed and the anti-reverse latch/spring down, then were in business. after using the 11.1v lipo, i fried my trigger switch.

@Shazee083 No it wouldn´t, due to the different systems. You have to buy special Western Arms receivers in order to fit. They are expensive, but there is no other way.

hi, ive got a problem and its a bad one, - my m4 scr aeg has broken down, when i fired my m4 on semi AND auto it makes a whir sound and ive taken the pistol plate of the bottom and the motor turns, ive taken it apart and basically moved the cogs around cause they came of the places when the gearbox was assembled, but now when ive put it back together it still makes the same noise, and the noise started again, i think the cogs might have come off again, what do you recommend me to do? new shims?

@Shaty1000 for a little while but trust me when i say that JG is not capable of handling lipo worth much a flip. youll lose your piston after a few rounds, gears then motor. it isnt worth it bud, trust me. lipo and JG should never go into the same sentance

@iLikeGuns88 Hi there, i kno im not evike but ill just tell you that, if your refering to a v2 gearbox that you do have to remove about everything in the gearbox. the only thing u could leave in is the sector plate and your wire box/housing. You could try and fit it in between all the gears and whatnot but its best if u just take everything out and make sure you install it correctly. Also don't screw it down as tight as it posibly will go, or u might have troubles changing the firing mode later.

@CoDmanzero It will fit, but please change the Cylinder to a ported one. Because otherwise, you will loose power, and damage your gun. Having a full cylinde in a short barreled gun is like dryfiring

@CoDmanzero depends if the hopup is two piece vs one piece. some receivers fold and other slide. the ones that slide doesn't have a main spring window, while the folding one requires one to allow the receiver to close easily. try putting a no-window GB in a metal folding receiver (two piece hopup) and you will know what i mean.

I have a question for you guys. My m4 recently had it's gearbox quit on it and i'm not sure what the problem is. When I put the battery in and pull the trigger it clicks like nothing is happening. I pulled the motor out and connected the battery and the motor worked just fine. It sounds like it's trying to cycle but it's jammed. Any ideas as to what it could be?

@animationcaptain most likely a gear or the piston got jammed. unless there's visible damage, taking the gearbox apart and putting it back together remedies locked gearboxes most of the time. otherwise it may be a lack of power. you can check if you hold down the trigger and see if the fuse blows.

Taking apart the gearbox is the eazy part. The only problem I'm having is trying to keep the wires, and the anti reversal lach inplace wile putting the cover back on. Is their something you need to do to keep the spring of the anti reversal lach inplace with out pushing the gear out of alinement?

How do I fix my gearbox? My gun only shoots once when in Semi and after that, the trigger goes loose and I can no longer shoot it when I pull the trigger. I have tried fixing the cutoff lever, tappet plate, and nothing seems to work. It always stops working when I use it on Semi but works fine when used in Full Auto. What seems to be the problem? @fatoushjam what is important is the spring or if you are losing air compression. If you have a 110M spring use .20g bb. if not you might have to invent rocket propelled ones.
