  • Brian's version is best. The Impressions will have to settle for runner-up.

  • cool..

  • What a beautiful arrangement for such a mesmerizing song. The music today, if you want to call it that is just a lot of nothing, no meaning just noise masquarding around falsely as music. Thank you for the fine, fine memories of my youth.

  • YAY! It's finally downloaded! LOVE this song. When I a girl I'd sing this song only I'd substitute the name of whatever boy I had a crush on at the moment for the words gypsy woman lol

  • Folk's like rwells47 are the stuff that makes YouTube such a very special place. When I stumble upon beautiful magical song's such as "Gypsy Woman", they only serves to illustrate just how entertaining and how powerful this medium can really be when used properly......Well done rwells47.

  • THis falls under a great, lost 45. A nice unexpected comeback from a pre-Beatles pop star--remember 'Polkda dot bikini?' Trivia on Hyland--he is Larry Fine's cousin. You know, of the Three Stooges? No joke it's true he is.

  • @mowm88 So this is why Mo was always trying to poke Larry's eyes out? Good song.

  • @mowm88 Noooo...no way. Larry Fine's cousin??? Where'd you come up with this info?

  • @WickedTornado- it's true- here's part of an interview with Brian: "You're a cousin by marriage of the late Louis Feinberg (Larry Fine) of The Three Stooges. Did you ever meet The Three Stooges?

A - I met Larry years later, about 1968, in Hollywood for the first time. He was a great actor / comedian and a really nice guy. The Three Stooge will be around forever." (Gary James' Interview With

    Brian Hyland )

  • @rwells47 Thanks for the response!

  • @WickedTornado - you're very welcome!

  • An excellent arrangement and performance. I'd be surprised to learn that

the wonderful Curtis didn't throroughly enjoy it.

  • Lovely song. If only romance like this could last forever!

  • the 60's were gone i was in my 20's when the song frist came out me and my friends siting aorund a fire in the woods turning up a few cans bruning j's left form 60's isting to music on an am transtor radio and this song would play and we just see hur truning and dancing around fire ooo those were the night's

  • To find the original1963 recording by The Impressions (featuring Curtis Mayfield (who wrote it)......It only says"Gypsy Woman" in the title: the poster neglected to include the artist. It has a black & white picture of 3 guys. -BTW- It's much easier to redo someone else's work than to write and interpret art from a blank canvas. If you like the copy, then the original artist deserves the credit.

  • THANK YOU i will YOUTUBE curtis mayfield and gypsy woman.

  • not bad, but who did the original ?

  • @robbypjr- I believe it was the writer of this song- Curtis Mayfield. Ron
